Is there any doubt now as to why there hasn't been any major previews?
There's a plethora of stuff to hide that's why. And this latest fiasco proves it. Tasos knows he has a shatner product and he's gonna get every little dime from the pre-orders as he can, kick the shatner game out the door, promise "major" updates and features to the game, and slowly fade into oblivion with your money.
Personally I think any major production on this game stopped years ago. They've played the same staged videos, same screenshots, and have kept a low profile as far as magazine and website previewers go.
Answer this to yourself, exactly where has Tasos invested any money into this game? Where??? And how do you confirm he has put any real money into it? No boxed version, no deals with a distributor, digital download.... Maybe, just maybe he bought an IBM 386SX on Ebay as the server, cause as we know now, he cannot even handle 200,000 subscribers!
Think think think. No previews and preorders..... Hm..... sounds like a scam to me.

Just don't buy the game, and leave the forums so people that are interested in the game can talk about it.
Delays for an independent aren't unusual, if you're so sure you're right then just move on to the next game. I promise you nobody will miss you.

I would have agreed with you, however he said that there is going to be a trial before he ooffers preorders. So, I'll try the game and if it has potential, I'll get it.

Yeah it sure does sound like a scam and he has about 200k customers that are just ready to hand him whatever amount he asks for the game too........I was surprised that he was blown away by the 200k apps for beta also....That is nothing these days....Both AoC and Warhammer had well over a million apps....If they cant handle 200k beta apps how are they ever going to handle what will come at them when the game goes live??......It just sounds like Aventurine is totally unprepared and maybe you are right that they will just get as much money as they can, release the game as it was made several years ago, and then hope the players like it enough to keep giving them more money.........

Which is true. They haven't talked on and on about features or how such and such aspect is better than any other game out there, or how "our game is steak and a fine aged wine while other games are like eating at McDonalds." That's what a company does to hype their game. All DF devs have ever done is say, our game has these features, they work, and the game because they work the game is launch ready.
The game has been shown at various functions in Greece, MMORPG.it has previewed the game, and there will be a free trial (although limited due to capacity) before preorders are taken. What else can you ask for. At least they aren't limiting the trial of the game to people who only preordered like some companies.

How many times are the troll haters going to bring this up, its obvious, ignorant stupid pointless thread nothing to discuss.
They don't want to spoil the mystery of discovering the world of Dakrfall for the first time for their preorderers and the real hardcore veteran elite gamers of this superior genre who appreciate them.
They don't want their competitors like blizzard copying all their revolutionary advanced technology and super duper secrets.
And there are loads of major previews all ready you just have to look for them, like gianna preview and MMORPGitalia review, but there are loads more many more lots.
They are to busy working to make Darkfall the best game ever to waste time placating the unreasonable demands of the vocal minority of whiners and haters.
And we don't need any more previews anyway its a waste of time for the developers because Tasos has already told us game is feature complete and ready for release, and gianna and MMORPGitalia said it was awesome super cool wicked.
So stop whining and don't buy it if you don't like it, and I don't really care either way,I'm not defending them I'm just fed up with the troll haters not giving a small hard working honest MMO developer trying to achieve something groundbreaking the benefit of the doubt, give them a chance and your preorder before you judge them you hater trolls.
Could Darkfall be a scam, absolutely, there is that chance. So would the prudent person not pre-order without seeing it first or at least get some unbiased reviews, yes, yes they should.
But why must you police others money? If they wish to pre-order on faith then so be it.
And i guess by your logic the only games who are not scams and are safe to pre-order are the ones that give a ton of information about the game, have a ton of videos and were reviewed by actual people who got to play the game, like AOC and Vanguard.
Every MMO that has been created and will be created has the possiblitly of being a scam, bust or whatever.

Viral-antimarketing. Plus, he's probably bored, waiting for the game to come out.
The reason why you won't find any previews of this game is because it's a low budget indie game. If magazines would pay attention to every bit of low budget trash, they could fill another 2 magazines, which they won't because nobody cares.
Adventurine likes to pretend that Darkfall has a lot of hype surounding it, but the truth is that it barely has any hype. 200k beta sign ups isn't that impressive when you consider how long Darkfall has been announced. to compare, WAR had 500k sign ups in only a short while after they opened beta sign ups.
There is no *hidden scam* or *Massive conspiracy*. Darkfall isn't getting attention because it's low budget trash, just like Irth Online, Roma Victor and Mourning gained very little attention.

What part of 'free trial' don't I understand? The part where anyone actually gets to play the limited trial.
Jan 22nd is going to come and go, and nobody is going to be getting into the game. Nothing will change from the way it is now. No leaks, no player-made videos, no reviews.. NOTHING.
The free trial is going to be 'limited' which means only his same friends and family will be playing it. Do you really think random people from this website or other fansites are going to get a chance to play? Ha.
Well dont pre-order then just play free trial if posible and see how game is wait for launch and see if the game realy lift up to hype.
Im still positive that the game will deliver but i must confes that i wont pre-order im little sceptic also after latest update there are indeed unsurtentys and tasos have lied about tthings why i dont know.

Tasos have manage to transfer me from a fan who would have bought game blindly into a sceptic one that wait and ses what happen.
So bottom line for me is his annoucement is counter productive in its effects towards me, ive analyse all info and my conclusion is wait and see before buying pre-order anything.
In a sense tasos failed to convince me after last update.
But Darkfall for me only mmo to play i dont see any other mmo out there that come close to what maybe Darkfall will be.

if you really want to know what they invested their money in then (if its a public company) grab their portfolio from the stock exchange or (if they are private) get an investor to give you details on their portfolio.

With Darkfall they dont have any risk becouse almost all magazines and site dont have readers who are ven intrested in Darkfall becouse its to hardcore and unknown.
Believe me this all chance when suddenly Darkfall is a good game and deliver.

They all should welcome games like Darkfall in dare to be different then almost all games out there over past 10 years.

Yes it does mean it's trash. Developing an mmorpg is expensive, very, very expensive. You can not make a triple A mmorpg, especialy one that is as ambitious as Darkfall's concept, on a limited, small budget with 20 people on the staff. You just can't.

Its more like 30+ maybe even closer to 40 and it never hype themselfs to compete with the big boys it always prsented themselfs as a small independed indie company, but that dont mean they try make a quality game.
Trilple aaa whats that AoC? thats more like triple ccc to me, WAR? same as AoC, or WoW? sure its a good casual game for themepark lovers but you cant compare it with a small game like Darkfall.

Seriously, though. This is just another example of aventurine and its very bad management of this game. It just gets better and better. This is a fact, even supporters of the game are now getting annoyed. I love this PR.. if I had a PR agency this the way I'd run it. negative publicity hell yeah... its like organisaed trolling of a large population.
Alright more seriously I think the OP has a point. There has still be *no* major previews of this product. This is simply not good enough for a good which many will have to buy to try. ( I suspect there will be no open beta of free trial). The noob reviews seemed to have been patchy, unplanned and highlighting missing features. I think the writer may not even be playing right now. In fact any words out of her mouth is major bias as she gets hosting from aventurine !
The real worry is that if this game is *that* good some company would be interested in hosting, especially as aventurine seem desperate for adequete hosting by now (talk about last minute). If the game had potential it should be explicit to see from awhile ago. Sadly I think its because the aventurine lack money and the potential hosts have not seen the game OR are not impressed by it to offer some deal lucrative (beneficial to themselves of course). Though perhaps the claim about mass interest is due to tasos overhyping and has now lead to a crticial lack of infastrcuture to run. Bad move tasos !
