Do you agree with them ?
That's just plain crazy, but it doesn't surprise me it's the next fanboi defense ("we're just trying to weed out the WoW players!").
I am not going to believe that quote at all until you have a link to prove that was actually said. I am starting to get really tired of OP generated quotes. Really you need to back up your statement before you actually post.
Second,
I doubt any company would care about the hype and amount of followers. In all honesty that is just more free money for them. I would not believe that statement at all. I would have to be mentally challenged to believe that statement. If they did say that.. Everyone should point and laugh cause it is a REALLY stupid statement to make. They should be flamed for saying that.

o.O ..... I am speechless. I mean wow... I would never thought in a million years a company would actually try not to get a large amount of customers. I think they were not expecting such a larger amount so... I am guessing they did not stress test their game too well.. But LOL... thanks for the laugh Darkfall.
The issue isnt necessary the hype, it's their current capacity. Tasos said that at the moment they have over 200k requests which is far more than they can currently handle.
So rather than go live and have all the servers topple over like most other companies have done they have decided to put the launch on hold and upgrade their capacity. Plus apparently there are other issues with support, account management etc...
So I think they have made a good decision, certainly one for other companies to learn from.
A good thing with all those threads started is that they're started by 'sceptics'. It truly prove that the word Troll originate from a creature with low intellect.
______________________________ The Sceptics, yes they're special but we've need them to.. I guess. And if they're put more effort MMORPG.com can create a 'Team Sceptic' and send them to the Special Olympus.

Yeah I know what you mean... but you do not, I REPEAT! DO NOT! say such a stupid statement like that. It is like you wanted your game to be not popular. That really does not show you support your game at all. Really what they should of said, was they were not ready for such a large player base and also say they want to run more stabillity tests before releasing the game. Or something close to that. You do not go ohhh, we are going to delay because of the hype, we did not want that to happen. Oops!
Yeah I agree it was smart of them to delay and push it back, but really they should of seen this coming a month ago. They had plenty of time to adjust. They have been the most hyped game for the past 3-5 months...

Correct.
I think the reason he stated that is because they don't have enough servers (1 or 2 at most) and will not be able to handle a real open beta for all. And remember the amount of people per server they say they can handle is unproven. We shall see if they can in fact pull off the 10k+ per server.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
If Tasos wants demand and hype to go down all he needs to do is let someone do a review of the game.
A fraps, stream of the game would do this also. IMO.
Its a catch-22 for him. He does not really want the hype to go down (no company wants that). But he can't handle the load that a real OB would create.

Well its been delayed since 2004 so why not 1 more month?
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!
Why does it feel like everyone wants this game to fail? I will admit that things seem and have seemed shady for a long time, but still, this game is aiming to deliver a different MMO experience than is normally found and everyone seems to be on the edge of their seat waiting for failure.
I have my doubts about Darkfall but at the same time I hope that it comes out well, is playable and enjoyable.
What do any of us get if the game never launches or launches horribly?

Since I expect nothing to begin with, I would just hang out in the forums, watching the world go down, slowly.

Its more about Aventurine SA and less about DF.
I swear to god they run this company like a communist state.

I don't understand both of you, he (well the compnany) gave a lengthy gameplay trailer to the public ..but instead of the hype to go down , the forum and beta registrations went up and break new records..
They didn't planned that but a fan captured there ADW presentation..and here again same thing..instead of people loosing interest after watching the video the hype continued.
So why you think if they let review or produce a fraps the game will get dehyped ?

Well, I'd say that Aventurine is acting like many companies and businesses after the financial crisis - controlling the market by any means necessary. That means that there is no room for small companies, such as Aventurine, to spread freely into the open market. Today's era of capitalism is more about controlling the supply, and not merely the demand for the product.
They realize they can satisfy only a niche of MMO players, not only because the game differs from typical themepark MMOs, but mainly because they don't have the capacity to distribute it and operate it on a massive scale. So I think Aventurine is acting rationally and responsibly given the situation.
First off they had no intention to go to ADW in the first place, they where presuaded to go. And second I have seen that video and it does not put the game in a very good light....you would think they could atleast have something to show that looks better than that.

You got it wrong. They do want a huge following but not at the release. When they see their game is running well and most players who were initial fans stuck (=solid fanbase), they can concentrate on getting more players and more servers. But if the release will be a big screw up due too many people trying to download the game and therefore making the servers go down, the game will be pronounced a failure and be forgotten after a few weeks.

False.
I recall WOW did not have a very good launch or WAR. They seem to be doing just fine.

Some payback for the many years the obnoxious Darkfall fanboys have been polluting every major MMO forum.
