If what you said is true how do you exaplin for example how Obama didnt know how many states were in the US? I mean Obama and Biden said way more (in actual quantity) of idiotic things in their speeches. Yet you only remember what she did / said. Doesnt seem like your playing fair as you say.
As I said, I didn't want Obama either. And I never said Obama and Biden never said stupid shit. I merely pointed out the stupid shit Palin said because that happened to be the point of the post I was replying to.
But considering they both said dumb stuff, which would you then pick? The one who wants to burn books, the one who thinks her ideals and religious beliefs should be thrust upon the nation? The one who thinks Alaska should secede from the U.S.? The one who think abstinence is the only form of birth control and should be practiced religiously while her underage daughters pop out kids ( yes, she has high family values, uh huh )?
One of my favorite Biden gaffes is the one where he confuses the 1st and 2nd articles of the Constitution while talking about Dick Cheney's claim that he is part of the Legislative branch.
"It states the vice-presidents power in the 1st article of the Constitution"
ummm...that article actually states the power of the Legislative branch...
*facepalm*
Yah...and Sarah Palin is the idiot...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Guys! I'm hopelessly lost in a mountain of mole hills! Them damn moles!
She doesn't force her religious beliefs on people, she has beliefs and sticks to them. Thats not the same as pushing for amendments and legislation. She hasn't done much in her own state to push anti-abortion. Her daughter has also only had 1 child. If people think Trigg was her daughters, then how did a 9 month pregnant woman become pregnant again?
Don't forget. He spent over $600 million on his campaign, but the topic was the $4000 outfit Sarah Palin had on loan from the RNC.
Not yet, and I hope people don't expect him to fix everything. He's only one man, and all he offers is one thing.. Hope. Hope for change, hope for equality, hope to bring this country together and weed out corruption in our government, schools, workplace, and homes.
He's got a long, tough road ahead of him, but I think he'll do fine. Just give him a chance to give america hope and courage to make this country number 1 again.
Speaking of money.. I wonder what happened to that 350 billion dollars? Remember, it took a lot of corrupt people to screw our economy up due to greed. We would be ignorrant if we believe one man can fix it.
What were the other former presidents doing then? You have to agree "change" always scares people. During the election, notice how calm he was though everything? Notice how he didn't lash back at McCain during all the "mudslinging"?
The first thing you have to do to "Sell" anything is people have to like YOU. Charisma is not an inherited trait. He knows that the people in this country for the most part are like "sheep" and it takes one person to take charge and remind us what we need to do as a country to get back on track,
When JFK said "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country. Somewhere between there and now.. we lost that! We lost faith in our fellow man, and in doing so lost a lot of faith in ourselves.
He can't fix everything. Don't expect him to wave a magic wand and money starts flowing again. I believe if given a chance to put good conscience back into our minds... we can do it
The inauguration is privately funded. I care not about that. What irks me is the amount they spent on security detail. That is absolutely ridiculous.
I agree with most of that - freedom of speech and freedom to spend. All the money is going to go back to USA anyways. It's not like Obama has a team hiring foreign body guards or a team that constructs his podium from foreign wood. But yeah - he should have lots of security, I worry about snipers. And Im sure the security jobs are going out to Americans and the materials paid for the deck out his limo are pretty much all made by americans. The money will just circulate - it's not a waste.
+ most importantly - private funding - or the freedom to spend is totally legal and one of the virtues of being american.
(so if there is still cynics about his costly innauguration - dude, give up)

omg - there is so much greed and cheating.
we just need to buckle down on the laws and supervision of people at companies and organizations that are filthy liars and money stealers... I mean it should be more obvious AT THE EXACT TIME the money is being wasted if people could just check up on the accounting more often.
Lot of people are putting way to much faith into this politician.
I think people are going to be in for a big dissapointment when Obama gets into office and continues the Bush Doctrine but in his own flavor.
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

It certainly looks that way . It seems like the plan is increase spending and cut taxes. Where have I heard that.
The way I see it (please tell me if you think I'm wrong). The economy goes in the toilet in a major way and the major companies that have been paying off and buying politicians for years don't want to see there standard of living and way of life to be eroded. They get their buddies in Washington to borrow money and give it to them to prevent this. Since these are the people that put them office, because today money equals votes, the politicians say sure.
Nowhere does the idea of fiscal responsibility come into play, or any thought to what this will do to our children who will have to pay it back. Not to mention what we will do when we can't borrow anymore.
I realize this is a very complicated situation beyond my abilities to understand if the bailouts are really harmful or the best approach, and I may be overly pessimistic after the last eight years but this is how it looks to me.
Okay, Bush spent 40 million on his, and was absolutely gangbanged by all of the democrats saying this was ridiculous. Obama is spending 150 million and no one says a word? Economic crisis and he's throwing money away?
What do you think..
I think the amount of money bush and his buddies have given to india or are giving india for nukes is a joke, don`t you? Five billion US dollars to india when america needs the cash.
The stupid statement I have heard concerning the elections is the people who voted against Palin. Sadly they seem to have completely missed that John McCain was the one running for president. Yet the media managed to make the short-sighted see it as Obama vs Palin.

And yet i have less hope for the future now that he will be President. Strange how that works, one persons hope is another persons dread.

Forgive me for thinking she is dumb as shit because of the stupid shit she was doing and saying the entire election. Maybe if she had shown some intelligence I would have voted differently.
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!
Well ...these trying times could do better with an experienced sane level headed person - wont it ? Lets al be postive and welcome the new president ....Who knows he could be a miracle maker....it pays nothing to be optimistic esp after such a bad precedent !
I really don't know what problem people have about Sarah Palin. She was trashed so badly in the elections but is really a great example of accomplishment. Maybe they are jealous or something. They said she has a lack of experience despite Obama having less experience. In the time she has been Governor, Alaska has grown in economical standings; she is the governor of one of the only states with a budget surplus; she rooted out corruption; and before the election she was the most popular governor in the US. I wish I could say that about myself because thats a mighty task of righteous things accomplished in only 2 years. To me actions speak louder then words, and Palin has alot of action behind her. Yet people keep calling her an idiot who seeks the spotlight. Those trash talkers act like an Ivy League education makes you important, more important than your accomplishments. Its a little disgusting.
Obama didn't list "I can see Russia from Alaska" as foreign relations experience.
I didn't want Obama either. But I'd have taken Kermit the Frog over Sarah Palin.
Sarah Palin never said those exact words. She said "From some parts of Alaska you can see Russia". It was about how Alaska has to constantly deal with Russia in trade and relations. Alaska has been working with Russia and North East Asia to create trade relations and use Alaska as a trading hub into the US. In addition to a $60 Million gas line that will provide natural gas to that region. However, all you get is a sound byte and Tina Fey impersonating Palin on the sound byte.

Yes I agree that it is a total waste of money......With all the problems the US is have financially things like this dont help......I was upset when Bush had his also.......IF you take the money that is wasted on campaigning for elections and inauguration parties you could probably fix half the problems in the US...... It also sounds hypocritical when you talk about fixing the economy then waste 150 million on a stupid party....

Do you want him to have it in the basement of the whitehouse with a cake from a super K-mart?
If that's not saying "Oh shit, our economy is screwed, I don't know what is."

Their is an estimated 40000 cops in DC for the Inauguration and their is 31000 troops in Afghan.
I thought that was a interesting comparison.
