What things does darkfall offer beesides those mentioned in the 5 minute Darkfall is Coming Video?
Please tell me more specifics on the features like skills, trading, looting, crafting... and stuff like that. "Be any player you want to be" - what does that mean?
I would like to know some more cool specifics about this game if any of you are willing to chug them out real quick for me, thanks :]
Also, what got cut and won't make it to the release date? And is the 3rd person battling skill based?

Unfortunately we know too little from the web site. Those feature listed reads more like a wishlist than a specification. There is practically nothing solid about the game that we know apart from some vague reviews by Mr nobody to loose statements from the developer. I believe no one on earth can answer the question posed by the OP.
This incidentally is why many of the gamers lose interest in this product. Many simply view it as a big scam.

I cannot say all have lost interest, I can never prove it. I said many, as a general suggestion. Since I cannot and will not conduct a survey to confirm the statement, I leave it loose.
I do believe some have lost interest. I have and that is only 1 person. I have read enough messages on these board to suggest that there are people out there who look at this game with skeptism, but there is no way establish a headcount that way.
What will happen on Jan 22nd? nothing. They have already announced that the game will be delayed. When will it be published or playable as a beta? I do not know.
If the game is being beta-ed, it must be the most well guarded secret, as we know of nothing about ppl being drafted in. In the case of many games, news will leak out even if its in closed beta stage. For this game, I hear nothing so far. Is it bad news? Not necessarily. But coped with all the other factors, I would seriously doubt that this game is actually played by beta gamers.

could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?

The Sceptics, yes they're special but we've need them to.. I guess.
And if they're put more effort MMORPG.com can create a 'Team Sceptic'
and send them to the Special Olympus.
A good rule is to simply ask Tasos a question.
Perhaps youd like to know if its possible to jump off a horse,twist in mid air and then launch an arrow straight at your opponents head. Tasos will then say "Sure,why not? And the arrow will also do extra damage!" and then it will be added to the features list.
Its that simple.
In short:
Darkfall is a sanbox MMO. That means you can do whatever you want to, but dont have to do anything if you dont want . No classes, no levels, and no xp, no quests. Its the players that dominate the gameworld. There is no "end game" or "noob game". Players have to take personal responsibility for thier playstyle and no game mechanism will help you.
