I've had enough of other MMOs, call for action!

O.K. so I left DAoC about a year and a half ago to go play some of these newer MMOs (WoW, AoC, WAR). I just can't see myself playing any of them for longer than a month, maybe two. As all the veteran players of DAoC have said many times on this forum and others, the only real thing wrong with DAoC is the lack of population.
As of today, I am renewing my subscription to DAoC! I urge anyone who has thought the same as me to join as well. If the population is really the only problem, WE are the population. So Join me, and together we shall meet in glorious battle and I will mash your head in! If everyone rejoined DAoC, it would be the best game once again. And even Mythic could not deny DAoC it's rightful place as thier "flagship" mmo!
See you in the Frontiers, you won't see me until it's too late

Why has there been no word on orgins, they could at least let us know they are still working on it and give us some sort of ETA.

I think the fear is that a DAOC Origins server would pul a significant number of WAR players, which probably isn''t a desired goal right now.
I'd recommend you leave them a post on their official forums, but... oh well...

I would definitely switch to the origins server if they ever released it. Classic is still pretty fun with the lower population. There's a couple of my old friends that came back with me, and we're giving Albion a hard time on a daily basis
As for it pulling subs from WAR, that's not DAoC's fault. They should work on both games equally and see which one grows. I bet it would be DAoC!

nah I don't use stealth, Troll warrior ftw. I hide behind trees, trolls are good at that
As to the original topic, if you want Origins server come back to DAoC now. Mythic is probably debating whether to go through the process of releasing the Origins server when so few people play. If not, at least go to the DAoC forums and sign the origins server petition
Just my personal opinion on what Mythic should do. Combine all the servers together on the Origins format

I'd definitely start playing again if they consolidated the servers a bit for higher pops. Origins would be icing on the cake.
EU here starting on the US classic servers. Would def. play Origins on US if/when it comes out.
Won't be EU as we all know GOA would have Origins out somewhere around the 81st century.
Been pondering returning for a while, after reading this I've decided that I will. I would rather play DAoC with a lower sub base, then play any other mmorpg out there atm with their subs. See you in-game

I've thought several times of returning since WAR was released, but I can't bring myself to return when the population is so low. Why? Because I'm a group oriented gamer, who loved grouping in the mainland zones for some good old fashion dungeon crawls. I doubt I'd find many people like that nowadays and would prefer to wait until an Origins server is released or not play at all.
I'm currently enjoying WoW and LoTRO. Not as much as I enjoyed DAoC back in its prime, but enough to not want to play DAOC with such a low population.

You know I was thinking today I need something to play after wow and many others. i am going to load it up a re-subb, If I can remeber login and password that is been a few years.
I'm playing DAoC again. Tired of MMORPGs I've been playing. Time for DAoC.
Everyone should rally up on the same server, which server though? I'll reroll, I just want to play DAoC. I'll probably roll a healing class (not sure which one, yet).

It's a noble cause to try and rally people together, but remember only a very small handful of people will see your post, and only a fraction will respond. Out of that fraction, not all will want to reroll the same realm. Those that do, won't necessarily have the same playtimes or playstyle preference as the others. So in the end, it's a noble cause, but just not likely.
The only way this would work is through the hands of Mythic. They need to rally the communty back/together by releasing a new server. It doesn't matter what kind of server, because people like new starts to begin with. If they do this, lots of people will return and you will get what you want....a population to play with.

Like realm hopping ( put a timer on realm hopping, like 24 hours ).
I believe ToA is sortoff fixed by now right?
Still New Frontiers did not improve the game, too much portals, keeps are too big ...
Mythic changed too much too fast and made some fatal mistakes, ToA was one of them, New Frontiers was another one ( They should have just kept the old Frontiers and keeps, but attach them to eachother by a center island in the middle )
When Mythic can bring back an experience similar to DAoC during the SI era, I'll be back !

I'm originally from Merlin, but moved to the Devon Cluster, it seems to be the most populated right now. It's still pretty fun. Over the past week I've contacted alot of my old guildmates and friends, and I got 14 of them to come back. The majority of them said they would probably come back if Origins ever came to be. Thidranki is still pretty populated, and once you find where the the battles in frontiers are happening when you log on, you can stay in battle almost the entire time you're online. Still very fun even with the low population.
