It is a stupid question. Has there ever been a MMORPG (or any game for that matter) in history that has only had 1 type of mob/enemy ? The answer is no. So common sense should lead you to believe that Darkfall will obviously have more than 1 mob type.
Plus if you looked at any screenshots on the main site there are many many screenshots of players fighting mobs that are clearly not goblin scouts.
You all seem to be forgetting the super advanced AI this game has. Mobs will evolve over time until theyre strong enough to take over outposts. These goblin scouts are merely the first rung on the DF evolutionary scale. The game has a built in highly sophisticated evolution system that means the goblin scouts have their own clandestine meetings around campfires about what to morph into next.
They then crack their fists together like the mighty morphin power rangers and become dragons and dinosaurs and stuff.
Exactly. People forget so easily that this is a sandbox game.
It's all up to the players. Are you playing an Orc and you want to introduce a new species? You will have to find a Goblin first and reproduce.
This is exactly how Hobgoblins were leaked from a beta tester. The tester was playing an Orc and had breeded his character with a complete Goblin village. Being responsible for a next generation Hobgoblin outpost that is ready to overthrow a nearby dwarven settlement, thereby creating even more scary monsters.

They had Trolls at some point but they got pissed off by the goblin scouts beeing so powerfull and wiping out all players that all the Trolls migrated to the various darkfall forums posting under the disguise of fanbois and haters.

I really wasn't trying to use irony. This was a very serious post that was trying to explore the 'completness' of the game. There were dozens of posters in that thread, yet all of them commented on the combat with a single mob (goblin scout).... 23 times. Not a single mention of fighting anything else.
Are the beta testers being limited to a very small area?
Is the gameworld filled with very few different types of mobs.. so that no matter where you go, you are likely to run into the same few mobs?
Were the beta testers just starting? Where were the comments from the longer-term beta testers?
I remember when me and my friends first started playing Asheron's Call when it first came out, the only monsters you ever saw near most of the starting area were Drudges. Literally almost every cave you went into or any field you walked through had drudges with those little wooden boards with the nail through it. Then as people started growing their adventuring legs, you started to see the banderlings, mosswarts, reed sharks, and other stuff. This could be a similar situaiton. If people are getting wiped frequently, they may not be getting that far out to see some of the other monsters. Only the beta players really know.
