If I had a game there would be ONLY closed beta. 99.9% of Beta users are there to have fun and provide no feedback at all.
If I had a game I wouldnt want bad information to be floating around about it. One bad reveiw by the wrong person kills a game these days. wow changed things and not for the better.

It's true, as a developer myself, I do not want any unpaid or non-interviewed testers for the current game being developed. Even the majority of Closed Beta is also useless and more related to a stress test than any other testing. This is why QA was invented they get the material fast, trained to give reports, and have an obligation aka - job to keep. I know it's a hard fact, but the public is at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to testing games. I assure you, 90% of the bugs you have found in Open or Closed Beta were already found by the QA testers and in transistion of being handled. Last but not least, public beta testers will not get the same communication as QA.
So, in other words, you're still useless.

You're so caught up in your fanboiness that you fail to see facts. Just because most everyone here acknowledges that this games development and marketing is pure @#$% doesn't make us haters. It makes us realists. They are trying to hide something, that is the only reason they are delaying the game so long and not doing a open beta.
You fail to realize facts and it leads to posts like the OP. You wish so hard for something yet blindly following something doesn't make it so.

Yes, becouse Blizzard, Mythic, and many more big companies are all new in this line of work and do not know how to run a game. It is not true what he is saying. A open beta is vital and mainly it is not about the feedback that comes back, but learning on how the server works.
Mythic infact had a way to short Open Beta and tier 4 of WAR was therefor not fully tested as in having loads of poeple there and you see what has happend. That is a company, who already created a succesfull MMO and had a bigger budget.
If there will be no proper Open Beta , with about 25K peeps invited running on one server (10K was there limit and it could be higher according to themselves), else there is a big change that the game will have big server problems, with they might not be able to resolve fast.

Speculation? Have you been blind for the past I don't know 6 months to be fair? Everything Ive said has been based on their actions over that period of time. Oh wait I forgot open beta came out a month ago and the game was released yesterday. Silly me. Also the NDA has been lifted and the 50 beta testers can freely leak the info for fear of not getting shot from people that are thousands of miles away.

Actually it is based on known behavior and how it has translated into problems in the past. We know how Aventurine is behaving. We know that Tasos has implied/stated things that simply are not true. We know that the lack of leaks and continued implementation of a NDA is general not a good sign.
You can say it is speculation, but it is based on historical evidence in this industry. Compare that to the blind faith exhibited by the Fanbois and yes it IS a more realistic view.

Before Blizzard had an open beta it really wasn't done much. I could argue against open beta by saying that since WoW every MMORPG has been a failure and all have had open beta.
The only thing an open beta does is further stress test the game and provide bugs to be fixed. Before WoW there was no open beta? DAoC had an open beta. AC had an open beta. In fact almost every mmo past UO had an open beta. Do 2 minutes of goggle research and you will find this out. Seems like every darkfall fanboi just spurts whatever he wants nowadays.
And I could argue that before WoW, no MMO had 10 million subscribers. So just to make sure I understand, you dislike the game and that makes it a failure? Infact, most MMO prolly had most subs then game like EQ1 and UO after WoW, mainly duo to WoW. UO had 250K subs at peak, Warhammer had that at release.
Beside that, there is now being asked more from server then back then. While it COULD run without a open beta or stress test, for a game this big it would not be advisable. 10K peeps running around on a server, building stuff, having cities, sailing, fighting, just a lot of math the server need to do and without creating lag. If you spell misses becouse of that you will leave the game afterall.
Lol I don't care, I didn't even signup for it. The NDA was supposed to be lifted the 22nd. Heck probabley even before that for their supposed "open beta". I seem to have struck a nerve with you. You seem to be the upset one =/
You don't keep an NDA in place for the open beta for open trail as they put it. Even with the NDA in place games get leaked all the time. I have yet to see one before this one not leak tons of information. The only leaking going on with this game is about 1/10th the size of any game and it is 99% positive hand picked leaks from tasos himself probabley. So you would pre-order the game as is right now with NDA in place and no leaks during the "open beta"?

yeah you're speculating too, though there's a higher chance there's no open beta cuz they can't afford it than b/c they are
They've said they may have to stage launch b/c of their inability to handle large amounts of people at once, you really think they will have an open beta with more people than how many will be their at launch? Don't expect more than the "trial"...

Exactly! So there IS NO DARKFALL game, it's just a viral to get people posting on forums. Personally, I prefer this to Forumwarz since our opponents are real and not AI.
Since the beginning of computer gaming, there has been leaking (or at least since the mid-80s)...and NOTHING has been leaked by testers here? Isn't this rather suspicious???

How can you still support this game fully especially after the Jan 22nd fiasco? BTW there's more people realizing facts now and thinking this game has something to hide vs. the crowd of fanboys now. Even IF this game gets released on the 25th Feb, the timely release of patches and responses from the devs will be horrible. They have proved their skill in dealing with the public already.

Over 100 people sign up on the forums every hour, just because they have no PR means nothing. They dont even need PR at this point, they get it for free...... 22nd fiasco? Almost every MMO gets pushed back, so I dont understand why you dont expect it at this point. The scale of the games makes releasing on time very hard. I am glad they are finishing it up before releasing. If you get on vent I could divulge some secret info.
Ive googled it and found a massive quantity of maybe 10 screenshots. Also only one website has actual "leaks" from the 50 family and friends testers saying 9/10 good things about the game. The 1/10 that says bad things from I guess an unhappy employee is pretty bad things.
Link me to some "beta" gameplay footage and we will see. As far as the NDA the only way people would be scared off from it is if the testers are all family and friends. There realistically is little to do except kick you out of the beta for breaking it unless they want to spend the $0 they have as proven by their inability to make more servers to hunt you down and press charges that would accumulate into more revenue loss for them than time you spent laughing.
I'm @ work so maybe later this week-end. I'm not even talking about the PR and them not doing free interviews. The lack of leaks and them saying they cannot hold the amount of people wanting in the game leads me to believe only 50-100 people have beta tested this game. Also in many of the leaked blogs from the 50 people they state they have rarely if ever seen another beta tester while playing.
Finishing it up before releasing is fine. No company waits until 1 week before the supposed release date to push back the game. They didn't even have billing/customer service running by then. Their lack of public relations is just ridiculous. Kind of to the point where everyone is laughing at them because most of this stuff is common sense and doesn't require an MBA. Would be better for them to come out and say they do not have the server capacity for this many people atm and need to delay the game 4-5 months to fix this and some combat issues. This would at least put to rest the NDA fiasco and the reason why there is so few leaks.

1k? Another made up number by a forumfall user. There's no way there's 1k users in atm especially since every blog has stated otherwise from supposed people inside the beta. Also the lack of leaks states otherwise.

Lack of leaks? Some leakers got busted (from screenshots), the NDA is very very strict, good testers respect the NDA, and most games have lots of leaks from people saying its terrible(bad games) ect.... And the leaker who said he hardly ever saw someone said he JUST started playing the games so.....

Billing and customer support has nothing to do with them, it is their publisher. Public relations are negligable, they know you will follow the game anyways (and you are not a paying customer...), and obv they are very busy...
