I resubbed a few weeks ago, but I just can't get into it anymore. I have some fun because I love a lot of the classes, but the movement is just horrid to me, and I've always hated when it was night time in game, lol.
I think I'm just going to give up on MMOs for a while. I actually didn't play much in last year or so of anything. I missed playing, but tried going back to a few games and tried new games and just nothing held my interest long. Well maybe one of the newer games in the future like earthrise or fallen earth will pan out.
I was tempted to come back for origins (if it ever happens), but don't think so now after recent experience in game.

Yeah, the characters aren't very fluid. It's like driving bricks around and combat takes forever. I remember the last time playing an Adept in Albion, it took me 5 minutes to kill a creature, because I was out of endurance. I would read a book while playing the game, because killing things took too long and the downtime between fights took a while too. This was about a year ago or so; I don't remember exactly. Yeah, now that you mention it, it was always too dark and night. I had to turn the gamma up.

Although it was quite dark at night I thought that added a little something to the game, (also anyone who had torch still on lit up like a beacon in emain macha). I also liked the heavy rain where you could literally stumble across a zerg or pass one only a few feet away!

Those things are some of the interesting features that made the game just that much better for me. There was a hint of realism where if it was dark it was ... dark. And if it was raining and then mist moved in you couldn't see 10 miles into the distance.
I don't think this would fly with the new generation where they need to be in control of every minor thing... even the weather.
No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-
That's half the fun though. The game is more realistic than all these new games that have come after it. Can you go out into a forest in the middle of the night and actually see more than 5 feet infront of you without a light source? And I liked the long battles. Unlike WoW and AoC, and some others (*cough* Darkfall's 1 hit kills *cough*) you and your opponents don't die in 2 seconds. It actually takes some kind of time and skill to beat monsters. You don't run in and pull 10 monsters and kill them all (unless your animist lol) like in other games.
I want to come back. I miss DAoC, but the pop is soo low.
That's the OPs point, if we all take the initative ourselves to return, then there would be a formidable population again. Maybe you missed that part or his post was too long for you to get through it.
I was thinking about buying this game but i saw that there are many expansions for it. It would be better if you could buy the game with all the expansions for a reasonable price, i think more people would try it So i skip this and wait for a game that's a lot cheaper to start with.
There are Platinum boxes that come with all the expansions. I've seen them go for $12 in EB Games in my town here.

There has to be some kind of error or something, because that doesn't sound feasible if all other times it's around 2k players worldwide.
