This is great

President takes on rush limbaugh in new media war

WASHINGTON -- President Obama warned Republicans on Capitol Hill today that they need to quit listening to radio king Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration.

Limbaugh Responds to Obama

There are two things going on here. One prong of the Great Unifier's plan is to isolate elected Republicans from their voters and supporters by making the argument about me and not about his plan. He is hoping that these Republicans will also publicly denounce me and thus marginalize me. And who knows? Are ideological and philosophical ties enough to keep the GOP loyal to their voters? Meanwhile, the effort to foist all blame for this mess on the private sector continues unabated when most of the blame for this current debacle can be laid at the feet of the Congress and a couple of former presidents. And there is a strategic reason for this.

Heh...you better start listening soon. Before you know it...the Messiah will start making it extremely hard for Talk Radio to thrive.

Rush followers thank Bush for isolating and losing voters themselves. You can only make excuses and try to get people to follow a dummy for so long. If i was a Republican I wouldn't be listening to that douche in a million years anyway, no warning neede here. Listening to Rush Limbaugh is almost worse than sitting through American Idol. Obama better be careful, Rush might try to eat him.

Rush, Fox News, and all the Bill O'Reilly are starting to show the one thing America has had to put up with the last 8 years. Fear.

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

Rush, Fox News, and Bill O'Rielly have 3 times the viewership thier competition generates.  Mainly because of a new monopoly on Republicans.  Someone should sue them for holding a monopoly, because it isn't fair for CNN, NBC, and ABC to contend with only 1 republican news source.

The international press is picking up the story.

Barack Obama picks a fight with Rush Limbaugh as bipartisan spirit crumbles

Barack Obama is on a collision course with his critics after picking a fight with Rush Limbaugh, America's most influential conservative commentator.

And here is my favorite excerpt from the article:

"He faces mounting criticism over his $825 billion economic stimulus plan, from Republican leaders who say the legislation has been drawn up without the input which Mr Obama had promised to allow them.

The president responded with a clear signal that he is prepared to ram the bill through without the bipartisan consensus he promised to construct, telling Republican leaders from the House of Representatives: "I won. I'm the president."

Nice attitude there buddy. Nice unity. You guys elected a total douche.

Hmm... I'll take two Democrats who tried marijuana over the functioning alcoholic we just spent eight years with. (because like they say in A.A., once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic). Alcohol is a much more destructive drug and seeing that W couldn't even handle that, it says a lot about his character, which was revealed over the last eight years lol.

"I won. I'm the President." This is your main problem I think, friend. You read attitude in this, when its just two sentences that denote none. Obama was simply stating F A C T for Rush, in case he was confused. (which based on Rush's $300,000 oxy drug habit isn't a far stretch.

He did win. He IS the president. I think he was just reminding Rush because no one can ever be sure what state hes in mentally these days after hanging out with the Oxy. Pretty sure he was just reminding Rush of what reality is. Problem with Rush and the loudmouths that follow him, is that they yak all day, but do nothing. Rush has had all these ideas from the "EIB" institute (LMAO) but has he ever RUN for any high office? Nope. How about a low office? That's because Rush knows if he ever dared to try to run anything important like, say government, he wouldn't have a clue. If by a miracle he did, he'd screw things up worse than his buddy GW.

A black man is President of the United States, lol. He was just tipping Rush to that historical fact.

If you had read the article, you would see that was directed at Rep. Eric Cantor. This was supposed to be a bipartisan, healing administration except you and I already knew it wasn't, though the left tries to keeps up the facade.

And this is typical of the left, in government, to attack private citizens. Bill Clinton wined about Rush all the time too.

Because in spite of the fact that he is an annoying self centered prick, he is easily among the top 5 political analysts of today's age. Regardless of whether or not you agree with a word he says, you can and will learn a lot just by listening.

If anything, this will probably only increase the size of Rush's audience.  And if the government tries to censor him, or FOX News or any other outlet Democrats don't like...well they might as well just come right out and say, "The war is on!"

Nope, didn't read the article. I usually don't click on the links and go ghost chasing much. I don't care about that type of banter one way or the other, and that's all that was, lol. It's fluff stuff for reporters. Well have to wean them back on real news slowly... they've been kept in the dark by the White House press corp for eight years. Even Scott McClellan admirably admitted he was used as a pawn by Bush and Co. I remember Cantor's name being throwing around a bit after the Palin for 2012 rumors fizzled out, so maybe that was for him, who knows? Who cares? Obama was just telling the truth, he's the Prez.

This admistration is already more bipartisan than anything Reagan or either Bush put together, so not sure what you're referring to. And its only been one week, lol. You guys are REALLY in trouble, all he's gotta do is fill just a FEW of his promises and he's better than W. Remember when W ran on "We are not the world's policeman" then he promptly went out, lied just like Daddy did when he said "Read my Lips.. no new taxes", and W broke our military. I guess he learned from the best.. Daddy was a former CIA head, and you know ability to lie like a dog is a precondition to taking that job.

I guess the point is, its the people's turn to get some consideration for a change, Repubs have to start getting used to that idea. The days of lobbyists raping the halls of justice are pretty much done for awhile. Some of those guys will have to find other employment, just like the rest of the people who got hurt because of their greed the last eight years.

Rush made plenty of money off of simpletons in his radio career then blew it a good portion getting high. From what I see in this thread, he's not gonna have a tough time feeding that monster with all these enablers around.

Just say no, help an addict. Don't give Rush any more of your money.

When is the lecture on how to cop without getting busted by undercover cops? Or the one on hypocracy for when he was slamming people who used drugs many a time, and then when he got caught buying 300k worth of happy pills, "my fat back hurts.. boohoo".

What a big, fat sweaty two-faced buffoon Rush is. Can I get a "megaditto" from the congregation?

This comment was directed at Congressional Republicans, not Rush. You are a complete idiot if you think there was no attitude within this statement. Obama thinks simply because he is President, he can do what he pleases. He thinks because he is President this is HIS government. He does not realize this is the PEOPLE'S government - even the 52 million who voted against him. He is showing this by his desire for big government and they continual dependency of his constituents upon that big government.

Yes, he won, unfortunately, and he is the President. However, again, this does not mean he can do what he pleases.

A half black man is now President. Yes, it is a historial fact. But, I will agree with Rush (who I dislike quite a bit anyways) - just because he is black does not mean we should bend over and accept everything he does.

You liberals fail to realize we conservatives have certain moral values (and G.W. Bush was not a conservative), and we will never accept Obama's immoral policies. And, before you use the religion card, I am a Deist, not a Chrisitan, so this has nothing to do with ideals rooted within any religion.

Its funny i watched Sean Hannity's fail show (you know the guy who let people on his forums talk about killing obama) and he was talking to Rush and they were talking their normal BS they always do, but when Sean asked Rush about George W. all he did was make excuses for him and avoid saying anything negative which is sad because even though i think W. did a few things okay he still screwed up a lot and Rush didn't even have the spine to mention anything.

But i personally don't mind listening or watching their shows, they mostly make fools out of themselves but once in awhile (super super rare) they do have a good point.

No, that would be W who thought because he was the "decider" he could do what he wanted. You forgot that one huh? Obama understands about duty and service more than W ever could.

Lets see: Obama spent a good portion of his life in community service helping his fellow Americans each and every day. W? Well, there was that one time at the country club in Texas he tipped a waiter who brought him drinks. W is a selfish money old brat who grew up with a silver spoon firmly up his patootie who had it all handed to him. Never had to do an honest day's work in his life. No struggle, no sacrifice, no ambition, no class. Bush spent the majority of his ADULT life drinking, hoaring around, avoiding duty for service when other Americans fought and died, has been linked to cocaine use, failing businesses and generally "not getting it". Then he spent another portion of it FUBARing this country's reputation with the rest of the free world.

He was an absolute moron, but the soft-headed retards who voted for him TWICE and still defend him to this day probably should not be allowed to marry one another anymore. Just for the record.. Bush was "not" a conservative as you say, but dittoheads like you voted him into office 2x knowing this? Oh wait.. he "sprung" it on you all of a sudden. You had NO clue he was a closet liberal, lol. You vote for an idiot you clearly already knew was not what your morals represented twice? Sorry but that doesn't sound very moral or even responsible for a normal person to vote against their core values. Bush turned out to be the WORST spender on big government the US has ever seen and you helped that happen. Congratulations on bankrupting the country, friend.

Now I see why you're so annoyed... you voted a liberal into office for two terms without realizing it until he was out the door. I wonder how much different things would have turned out if parents didn't let their kids actually PUSH the buttons in the voting machine, and Gore wins. Sigh.

It makes me laugh to see such assumption. You, just as the phrase goes, make an ass of yourself. I never voted for Bush. Not once. And please, go back and read my posts. I have always said Bush is/was not a conservative.

Now, I will give you plenty of time to remove your foot from your mouth.

It's okay. You can admit it.

That's the first step to recovery... admitting you're a Bush Republican.

btw: The Obama wagon still has plenty of room to come aboard. All previous sins are forgiven^^

I've seen this topic and something about the headline had my subconscious at work and then I saw it in  a dream I had while taking a nap a short while ago.  Obama duking it out with Rush in the Red Room.  Their families cheering them on as the expensive furniture splintered and broke between them while the Secret Service laid down bets.

If you are not being responded to directly, you are probably on my ignore list.

And, I'm done speaking of this. Reasoning with you Obamabots is about as successful as teaching a fish to juggle.

a lot of us know your post history, and you can say what you want.. you just feel that admitting your a republican as well as a bush supporter somehow makes you inferior.  therefore you dont admit it.  But ya judging by your post history you're very supportive of bush and extremely supportive of the republican party.  You're just ashamed to admit it and play the conservative independant card.  you, faxxer and fishermage.  You're all ashamed of your affiliations

I've been registered Independent since I was 18. This year was the only year I ever voted Republican. And that was simply to cast a vote against Obama. Supportive of particular policies are not conducive to being  supportive of the individual or the administration as a whole.

If I ever see a policy come out of Obama's administration that I deem decent, that definately does not mean I support his administration.

I don't think Republicans or Democrats are inferior in a way - I just simply don't agree with their policies and will not change my views and my belief for so called "change" and "unity".
