Road to Patch 1.0.2

Friday, 23. January 2009 :: Banshee

Greetings Spellborn players!

It’s time for an update about the upcoming patch, labeled 1.0.2.

First things first, let’s talk about the projected implementation of it. As you know from the past “Project Update”, we announced that the patch would find its way to the game in late January (next week). It was also communicated that the brand new Tutorial will be part of the update. Since we really want to have a great tutorial experience we are intensively testing it internally, even right now, to make sure the basic controls, interaction, combat information and gameplay flow are working as intended. If we spot elements that are not meeting this criterion, we will take necessary actions.

What this all means is that it is possible that this patch would be delayed, postponing its release to early February. In terms of the content of the patch itself, it will contain the complete set of new outdoor Menaces (outdoor “bosses” similar to Tiny Tyke, with kill-quests designed to fill in the level gap around level 25), many quests fixes (especially for the High House Quests), as well as a PvE balance as far as the density and respawn times of hostile mobs are concerned.

But that is not all, for we have been busy and worked on many other things.

A perfect example would be the optimization and amelioration of the font display in the GUI and also in the game. These were gripes that you, players, have been voicing on our official forums and you will be glad to know that major changes have been done!

    as i said before on the acclaim forum, i think the acclaim closed beta will launch when the patch is released. Then they can test out the new tutorial area and other stuff. It will also give players a better impression in beta, since the impression on the "European" servers is well..... not so good at the moment because of lots of bugs.

    People can't get past level 25 with quests so they have to grind, graphic glitches, ATI card framerate drops, missing auction house, no bank, etc.... and some of these problems exist for over a month, like the level 25 level stop.....

    As far as I'm concerned the game is still in development even if there are some EU people paying to play it right now. Its looking like a fun game, but its not ready yet. IMO they shouldn't launch it until they get the AH and bank in.
