Im running Crysis and FarCry2 on this rig at max settings under windows XP. Getting 30FPS average.. never drops below 25FPS. Could overclock much more... for future software.

SO all together it was around 660. Not that bad, I could play all my fps's at high specs. computer runs smoothly.
Im also running windows XP 32-bit (
) I downloaded windows 7, but i need a dvd-rom burner, and thats in my other PC, and im too lazy to rip it out

Its a SAS drive which are typically 15000 RPM. Its uncommon for desktop motherboard to have a SAS controller. I picked the motherboard specifically because its the only desktop board that can.
Yep, just read a little about them. The question I ask now, is what are they really good for?

They are typically used in servers because of their high transfer speeds. These things are atleast twice as fast as standard 7200RPM drives. Its like the benefit of a Raptor Drive only 150% faster. Transfering data off of a hard-drive at fast speeds helps in all aspects of computing. In alot of cases now where you have a mysterious stuttering, chances are its your system reading off the Hard Drive.

Wouldn't raid 0 be just as good? Two 10,000rpm hdd's? Wouldn't they run simotaniously into 20,000rpm?

Its because its 2 drives instead of 1. It requires twice as many sata connections/power. The Hitachi SAS drives run the same price as velociRaptor drives of similiar size. Not to mention you can RAID 0 those SAS drives for a 30k RPM drive. Although typically raiding an SAS drive isn't too wise as this motherboard can only raid 2, and most Raid controllers don't have the bandwidth to raid alot. You also run a higher risk of disk failure with how fast these things spin.

15k rpms are for servers, transfer times don't help you in games, min seek times do. 15k rpm HD is almost useless in a game. Much better to go for a SSD or a 10k raptor.
I'd go with
E8400 OC'd
Gigabyte EP45 UD3R
2x2GB PC6400 Mushkin or G.Skill
HD 4870 1GB
and depending on my budget I'd go for a 64GB SSD for my OS and games...and some plain old hard drive for media storage.
