I've seen many threads like this one ever since launch and Funcom hasn't responded yet in any way. It seems that many people, like myself, find the endgame boring because there's not much to do. Once you've done the raids, you pretty much have to do ganking in Kheshatta which is really, really boring.
Personally I believe that the boring endgame was the main reason why 90% of players quit Age of Conan. MMO without an endgame is just a single player RPG.
What do you think should Funcom do to make endgame fun?

It is your own fault for rushing to level 80 !!
I mean .. eh ..

Oh please that excuse stopped being valid 4 months ago. (I think I just failed to detect sarcasm there ;x)
Yes OP I agree. Its partially the reason I left as well. PvP Minigames (at the time) were a joke and there was no incentive for them. Sieging was broken. End game dungeons were buggy as hell.
I think now though most of these issues are resolved. I just think that there needs to be more things to do on the PvP front and perhaps some new dungeons on the PvE front. They are dealing with the latter, but not sure about the former. Sure PvP sets/consequences, but sieges (from what I've read lately) still seem to be a mindless zerg.
EDIT: Oh wait that thread posted by the OP was posted yesterday. Oh well things havent changed enough. Surprised? nope.
The question you should ask yourself. What is endgame?
Just have a look at EverQuest 2, World of Warcraft or LOTRO for that matter. Or City of Heroes. That's a good one.
When you take World of Warcraft as example. What was there to do when you were level60 (or 80 by now)?
RAID's ?
Endless faction grinds ?
PVP in BG's and Arena's ?
Or how about EverQuest 2. What is there to do when you are level 80?
RAID's ?
Endless faction grinds ?
We can go on here.... but in each those games there are still people complaining about having nothing to do.
Problem is.... that players who have too much time on their hands and play almost litterly 24/7 ... it's impossible for a Dev company to please such players. Impossible to come up with content fast enough to keep them pleased.
Even Turbine has a hard time keeping up with their 2-3 monthly book updates to please the hardcore crowd.
What do you have in Age of Conan now....
PVE - Player City building and advancing?
PVP - Keep building and Sieging?
RAID's?
PVP level system?
So I guess what could be added are the endless faction grinds that could be added to keep the hardcore crowd pleased I guess.
Have you played Guild Wars?
They have had basically the same endgame content for years now and it's still one of the most popular MMOs out there.
All they did was make 8vs8 GvG with guild ladder and gave players a bunch of skills to play around with. This made GW easily the best and most challenging pvp out there.
Funcom should have done a similar system that WAR has. A big map with castles, towns, etc. and guilds would fight over control of them. Instead Age of Conan has lame siege battles, boring pvp minigames, and pve raids. No wonder everyone quit.

You are joking right. I hope you don't mean the Turd of a RvR PVP in WAR? Just being confused and rather mean the good RvR PVP of DAoC instead?
If so.... then yes I agree completely. The RvR in DAoC was awesome!

The thing is... Guild WAR is NOT a sub game. So... you get what you buy in the box. On the other hand you pay EXTRA sub for AOC - that TRUELY means they need to create MORE endcontent to keep ppl paying their subs. AT this point in time Funcom has not done this and Most PVE players are realising that PVP is the only thing AOC has to offer atm.

did I say something about RvR? No I didn't. I just talked about a system where you have a big map with areas you can conquer with your guild.

Then WAR is still a very bad example of how not to do it. Swapping keeps and BO's without puprose or just for gear (T4) is getting old and boring real fast too.
That's why DAoC would be a better example to look into and adapt (read steal :P) the good things from that.
Cheers
I don't have a single character level 80 yet. I enjoy playing to many alts and yes I repeat the content sometimes on most of them. I find the game fun though and not in a huge rush to reach the magic level.
There probably does need to be more end-game content. The next update should be pretty good atleast from what I've read. Then again there will be people who rush through it and complain.
I repeated the same dungeons in EQ2 daily when the lockout timer expired. I do the same dungeons in DDO over and over again. I don't think this is a problem just with AoC. People love to whine though, it's just a game. The moment you start to think there is nothing more to do and your bored is when you should look elsewhere for fun. By then it seems you are burned out and need to check out some other titles for awhile.

I agree. Problem with WAR is that, like you said, there is no purpose in swapping keeps. Same thing with AoC. There is no sufficent reward for pvp or sige battles.
All MMO's should have a guild ladder like Guild Wars has. It boggels my mind that developers fail to realize this very small but very important aspect. Beein gin a top guild makes your e-peen bigger and hooks you into a game.
Can't say anything about DAoC because I haven't played it but what I hear it had a good RvR system.
