Being delayed again. Not for trollilng, just to see the fanatics happy because the game is not being released in an unfinished condition and will be more polished
What I am most looking forward to about Darkfall is it's inevitable failure, a close second would be watching it get panned by the gaming press once the veil of secrecy is finally pulled back.
Sanbox style MMO. You can choose what to do, grind, fight, craft, explore or nuthing. Travel to any place in the world if you feel for it.
I have played every major MMO, and the only one that didn't offer all those choices was Guild Wars. I understand the appeal of a real sandbox game.. I just think the term gets used way too loosely these days.
Pre-CU SWG was a sandbox. You could build a house, or an entire city anywhere you wanted. You could be solely a crafter or entertainer and there were no levels, only skills... skills you could mix and match as you saw fit and advance by using... no quest progression on a rail. THAT is what a sandbox game is to me. I don't consider any game where you can't have a tangible impact on the landscape a sandbox...
What's good is a sandbox without the tools and ability to build your sandcastle?
FREEDOM! Being able to craft everything in the game, kill who I want when I want, build cities and ships, sail the seas, and do whatever I want wherever I want whenever I want. No more getting ninja'd by some little prick and having to watch as he dances around and says stupid crap like 'LOLZ', and 'ROFLCOPTER'. No more meeting the biggest jerk i've ever met and not being able to do anything to him because he is a member of my faction. No more quest grinds and burning through content.
I'm looking forward to it's Epic Fail of Fury/Wish proportions.
I know that sounds mean, but I hear nothing but a minority of hardcore PvP entusiasts and die hard fantasy addicts treating this game the way Dom Deluise treats a Ham Sammich. The same way they did with Vanguard. The same way I myself did with Vanguard. I want to see folks understanding just how hard it is to make a game successful and how Darkfall's doing all that in reverse right now.
The cries of joy from the Darkfall fanbase when Taco announces on the day everyone subs to darkfall that the servers will be fixed in a few days after the DOS attack.
Another great example of Moore's Law. Give people access to that much space (developers and users alike) and they'll find uses for it that you can never imagine. "640K ought to be enough for anybody" - Bill Gates 1981

Does it upset you that the game doesnt cater to the masses? That there are hundreds of MMOs to your liking? Why is everyone so mad that we got a game that caters to sandbox and FFA PVP fanatics ? Adapt or Die.
I'll be kicking back with a soda and popcorn watching the drama unfold here.

Crafting. I am gonna be famous as a multi master craftsman.

Seriously, why is there so much hate over every new game that comes down the pike?
Don't like this one, go play another? It's an idea that never seemed to catch on....
im looking forward to the game launching. anything other than that is icing on the cake.
