do they have crafting?

in Guild Wars

i was in world preview event and all i could try was the missions, and gladiator arena...that sort of stuff but i didnt find any ways that i can craft items etc.  do they have a skill system in which i can make weapons or herbs, potions, food. whatever????  thanks

    You are totally right they didn't elaborate on it with items such as food and things like that but there is surely crating a few lvl 17+ guys had iron armor and such and I even had a good helmet its was pretty straight forward you had to do alot of hunting to get the crafting items or enough money to get'em.

    You will be able to craft items(armour/weapons ect). This was all avalible in the WPE, but for those who did not get enough money nor crafting items, do not fear, the item drop rate were tweaked for the retail, not a 3 day event.

    Back to the crafting part, various mobs will drop salvage items, which can be salvaged with a salvage kit. The resources you get from doing this can be used to upgrade current equipment, or be used to craft a new piece.

    yes crafting is hard but its not imposible. one thing i am upset about is you cant set up a store. all you can do is trade with an NPC or spend a while asking about who wants to buy this. i feel if they make a store system like they had in knights online or even the one they had in RYL that they could improve there trading system. overall though great game.

    I only managed to craft 3 items during WPE. (gloves, boots, leggings)

    Hi every one. I'm new to mmorpg.com and I managed to craft a full gladiator armour (20+class) in the 4 days and filled it with silver and black dyes.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
    In mission 1 u can get hides salvaging warlock robes.
    In the area we were allowed to play there was at least 3 different crafters but only with armours. I know you can’t craft weapons too but it wasn't available in the WPE.
    There was a lot of trade and the most wanted items were:

    Steal (rare)
    Hides, cloth and scales (common but you need lots)
    Remember that the WPE marked the transition between alpha and beta.

    they didnt make the crafting system stands out so you cant really even notice that you can craft items.  i also noticed that i couldn't find a bank or was i jst too busy doing missions during WPE?

    If they are trying to solve all the things we don’t like in the games they have to make a way to transfer things between characters and 4 that we need a bank.

    Yea, I crafted 3 necrotic items (legs, boots, gloves) crafting system was alright, but hey, with 3 days only you needed to do a lot of farming to craft a full set, especially with the inscription thing (requiring parchment)

    Yeah, I spent alot of time trying to figure this crafting thingy out and finally realized how it was done. unfortunatly I never got the stuff I needed to craft my "stuff" since everytime in missions the things I needed were assigned to others in the group. I wonder how it is balanced, that is what makes me get this thing but another member of the team another thing.

    Was boring though when hunting its good to note where things drop (in missions/explore area).

    I would agree on adding a shop system like said before, you have a booth and your stock you place the items your selling and wether there very wanted or not you can go afk and come back in an hour or so, and see if you sold something. Only downside of this is that you can't bargain image

    Game is yet in development and there will be a lot of possibilities in the future.
