Don’t post in here about full loot and how you don’t like it and its no good. Its what a lot of people like about the game. Let me break this down to all of you who have been trained by games like WoW and others.
Full loot means your gear probably isn’t worth much. This is what we want. By we I mean the people looking forward to DF. See in this game your gear doesn’t make you good at pvp or pve its you and the way you play that does.
Lots of us are sick of shallow gear grinds that only affect the single player doing it. See these are massive multiplayer games but most games have an end game based on gear grind that’s totally only about making your self better. Yeah I know you have to go pug some raids for pve gear or go shout your stats out for a pvp team and your guild runs this and that on Thursday night at 8pm and yes you are working with others congrats. Still only thing to do end game is gear grind. Then once the company running the game decides it time they release new season gear or new raid gear and it starts all over again. Some people I guess really like this punishment but there are many of us who are sick of it.
So please don’t post about how dumb full loot is. Its what we want.
Tried to break up this wall of text crit. Sorry.
Edit: Let me clarify for some of you. Gear in this game wont mean as much as it does in a game like WoW. Comparably the gear wont be worth much so it wont be devastating to lose it. Sucky yes but not devastating
Edit again: Im not a fanboy of DF. It appeals to me and i hope they pull it off but if not i think that we will see many more sandbox games that have death meaning somthing more than a corpes run. We will see this because others have now seen how intrested people have become with DF and how well EVE is doing.

Let me make sure I understand you clearly.
You want full loot because the loot won't be worth much.
So, if it isn't worth much, why would you want to loot it?
Full loot should not be in game.
You have only yourself to blame for starting this thread.

What I want is this :
Hardcore death rule, so people aren't so reckless.
I want them to fear death, so farming materials and areas etc. ain't so repeatable and easy.
I want the Economy to roll a shitload, so the time I passed working on lvling proff up ain't just wasted cuz I only sell 1 piec a week while spamming my ass off.
If you don't want this, your not looking into the right game.
Such hardcore loot rules has never been seen in any other MMORPG, and I believe there is the population to make a MMORPG out of the idea.
Losing everything but your bank stuff / starter gear isn't gonna change much, but that doesn't mean you want to be a cannon fodder, does it?
Yes the gear wont make or break your character. It does not have 5 billion stamina on it and 7 billion spell power. Comparing it to other games and how much gear is and how important it is it wont be worth much

This is the exact harsh reality that a DF fanboi fails to grasp.
This is the exact harsh reality that a DF fanboi fails to grasp.
Furthermore, it reminds me that every DF fan thinks the game is something different.
One says loot is valuable, another says it won't be important.
And you could go on. Point by point. Any aspect of the game. One guy will say its like this, and another says its like that. What a surprise it will be when the game is actually only appealing to one player. With the rest in a state of shocked disappointment.

The gear will mean somthing but it wont make or break you character. It will be unpleasnt to lose it but it wont be like losing gear you grinded some dungeon 80 times to get and that has ridiculous stats on it that make you unbeatable to some one new to end game. Now this game doesnt have levels so not talking about it but in a game like WoW where a fresh 80 has no chance vs a top tier geared 80.
Edit: Also maybe that guys gear looks better than yours. Or he keeps going around killing people in your clan and you just want to get all the stuff he stole form them back. I dont this is a playground not a theme park. Anything is possible.

Dont bother explaining DF to these carebears....look at these guys Wow and Everquest nuthuggers.
There are about 350k people on the DF forums that understand what DF is and want to play it, more will show up at launch...its a niche game obviously but plenty want to play it
If you people dont understand the features and mechanics of the game, and just spout of illogical bs then there is no room for you in this game

This argument about loot is totally logical and only a blind sycophantic fawnboi won't understand.
If loot is worthless then why loot and therefore by extension of a LOGICAL argument why even have full loot?
This is as stupid as thinking that there won't be "levels" in the game. Call skill levels what you want they still make someone better then someone else therefore on a different level of game ability.
Keep dreaming fawnbois, hope a few thousand can keep your beloved game afloat.....fat f'n chance of that.

Who's saying loot is worthless besides you? Obviously the OP is trying to say loot isn't critical to the survival of your character, but is definitely worth something.
Full loot is not dumb, what is dumb is full crap loot.

Read the FAQ's and the forums. It is stated many times that "loot doesn't matter" hell the fawnbois always state that on here. So if loot doesn't matter then it is worthless and why the hell would you want to loot it?
It really boggles the mind how stupid and blind the obsessed fawnbois are.
I have no preference either way as long as the game is FUN and playable.
Thing is how high of a sub base would a hardcore mmo have, do you think? The devs need to make a game that the MAJORITY will play not 1000 people out of a possible 10000.
Gotta be hard to get JUST right so things are "balanced".

Fix it a bit further. There are not, and there never have been, 350K individuals on the Darkfall forums. They jumped quite a bit when beta was announced in NOVEMBER, but that was likely interested individuals, followed by a large contingent of fans registering with 8 email addresses to get a shot at beta.
Bad news fellas, no one got in.

No. No it does not make sense. Because generally, things that have "low impact on determining battles" in a PvP game would have low value. So where are the R-tards that are paying premo prices for crap gear? Even DF won't be so blessed.

I don't see a need for paying premium pricing on any gear. All gear is craftable and most likely everyone will have a few sets in the bank in case they get looted. If you've ever played UO you may be familiar with the concept of full loot.

When was the last time you played UO with full loot? A lot of time between then and now can make us remember things as better than they were.
That said. I'm not against full loot. I think EvE is great (yes its different, I know).

The last time I played UO was a couple of years ago. Re-upped for a few months, had a fine time, but it was way behind the times, so I let the subscription lapse.
That said, I think you may be stuck thinking about loot like you would with just about any other MMORPG on the market today, where items take forever to get and are are essential to your characters performance.
In UO (and presumably Darkfall Online) gear is cheap, plentiful and barely effects your skills. Hell in UO, I used to walk around in the bone armor, because pieces of it dropped from skeletons and it was nearly as good as platemail.
What games are you familiar with? Which ones have you played? Seriously, if you are playing WOW, etc. Your mindset about loot is the opposite of what this game purports to be.
If the gear is anything like what UO used to be pre UO:R, it'll be fine. Sure killing the average person and looting them isn't going to very valuable, but it will be worthwhile. Even the most basic items have value, and if they can be sold, you make a profit from your kill. In UO it would usually mean you made more than you spent (in reags, potions, etc). Keep in mind that occasionally you'll run into the idiot players that don't take precautions with their truly valuable stuff as well. Which will make looting them very profitable, and yes it'll suck for the player being looted; but they should have been smarter.
In my PK days in UO even looting nothing but the average player, I would make about 1/2 the amount a small house would cost in one gaming session. For the most part I wouldn't kill the same player more than once, unless they were asking for it. Had I hunted monsters etc instead of PKing I could have easily trippled the amount I made. Why did I choose to PK and full loot instead if it wasn't as profitable? Because I enjoyed fighting players instead of ai, and I could still make a profit even if it wasn't that great. The average person I looted could replace the value of their gear lost in a matter of 1/2 hour to an hour even if they were completely new to the game (usually less).
So even looting stuff that is "not valuable" you can make a profit.

I think the point people are trying to make is... if gear is meaningless to lose, who cares if you get to loot it from someone when they die?

This is a darkfall forum section on a non-Darkfall site. So don't tell people what they should/shouldn't, can/can't post unless it breaks this sites' rules ( hmmm, don't see "full loot discussion" listed in the RoC ).
As far as the analogy of UO, if full loot and PKing was that popular, Trammel wouldn't exist.
