Anyone who ordered directly from SOE, read this!

I just spoke with a Manager at The Station. If you want to change your order to NEXT DAY, login to The Station Store and cancel your pre-order. Then go through and re-order it and you can choose NEXT DAY shipping.

Also, as a side note, she mentioned to me that they are working with the distributer and it's not confirmed, but, they are working on sending out all of the direct pre-orders EARLY. The final cut has not been made to the distributer, so she said I could change my order and it would be included. She expects the final cut to go to the distributer on Thursday so any changes to orders need to be made before then, if you wanted to change it.

I guess another option is to go to EB Games and pre-order it there and just cancel your SOE order all together.

As a note: any place that offers the character creation disk... when you preorder it and they send you that, you can no longer cancel your order (from my understanding). I'm hoping to get my game no later than a few days after launch. I have 3 day shipping though. We'll see.

Thanks for informing me, i just cancled my pre-order with SoE and orderd from EB games with next day air, and i have my character creation disk sittin right by me, and it still let me cancel, so your understanding my not be correct in all places :P!

Actually, my understanding is dead-on from what I read. First you must understand I ordered through EBGames, and right on there it says... "After bonus disc ships, you will not be able to cancel your order." So it is not an assumption any longer, I just didn't feel like looking it up at the time. ;-)

Of course, since you ordered through somebody else at first.. I can't accurately say. But they obviously didn't look at the situation closely if they're letting you cancel. Heh.

This was my understanding as well, and I asked the Manager about that. She said this is not correct in regards to SOE because what happens is, when you place your pre-order, you do not automatically get the character creation disk. The CC disk is a seperate order which you can only complete if you enter the pre-order. So you can cancel one independantly of the other. I was able to cancel my pre-order without any issue. She also went on to point out the CC disk does you no good if you don't have the game anyway and you can't use the free gift (Jboots) multiple times.

So, I was able to cancel my order and re-order it with a different shipping method.

EB will not cancel if CC disk was sent. Same with Gamestop, I already spoke with both of them.

I pre-ordered my EQ2 last night from SOE directly, but didn't order the Starter kit right away because it wanted me to pay another 6 bucks for shipping. I went in this morning to try to order my starter kit and it says they are out of stock. Am I screwed out of my jboots now? If so, I am going to cancel my pre-order and just buy it locally. Let me know if you have any other ideas please!

If I wasw in that position, I would email EB and Gamestop to ensure they have CC disks in stock, and then preorder online. Or I suppose you could also go to your local EB or gamestop and do the same thing, assuming they haev the bonus disk on hand.

Strange. I went and gave Gamestop $5 and got my CC disc...I dont' think they are gonna send me a bill for the rest of the game.

I called gamestop, and they said they have a few left. I am gonna go pre-order it there...I hope they get it opening day....thanks for the advice folks.

Not SoE fault.This retailers will have the copies ready to go on the 8th but because "tradionally" UK releases new titles on a friday they will end up sitting down for a few days before sending them.

However,I recall this same matter arised with some other title(think it was AC2) in which the uk release date was 4 days after the US release due to this stupid friday thing again.

But i got my copy 2 days after the US release as i pre ordered and the retailer esitmated 2-4 days delivery so expected me to get it on that friday.

So if you are lucky and live in a place near the distrubutor you pre ordered from you might get it as early as the 10th.

But it will not be in UK shops shelves till the 12th.

If you go under "Billing Info" and you see the pre-order and the cancel button is gone, that means they made the cut to the distributers and it's too late to cancel.

Just checked.. my cancel button is gone now as well.. I guess they sent the list to the distributer and they should be sending out the orders soon...
