Moving from WoW to WaR is moving from ok to sub-par for me. I tried them both for quite some time and i found WaR to be really annoying and boring in T4. Its endgame is simply non-existent. What surprises me most is that Mythic announced 2 more classes to come. Like the game hasn't enough flaws already. Instead of correcting the current bugs and game faults to make the game actually be a "war" and not a lagfest in fortresses (which they try to resolve with siege population hard-caps lol) they introduce more classes so that they can reattract the subscribers they lost all this time. Mythic is no different than the other companies. It needs MONEY. And it will do whatever it takes to make money. Creating hype is an efficient mean. And 'im bored to read the usual "Mythic excuses". Once a week they make an excuse post in their website for bugs and lag, asking for patience and understanding.
Even though i stopped playing WoW a long time ago, WoW is a better game. And dont give me this "Warhammer is a new game and WoW is older and more polished" blah blah blah. They had 5 years of development time,a financial collossus to support them (EA), and more advanced technology. And they failed (given the means they had).
My brain has 2 sides;Left and right. My left side has nothing right and my right side has nothing left...
I don't think WAR is the right game for a RAID guild, maybe you should have a look on EQ2 instead? It have many hard RAIDs and a free trial. WAR is a lot of PvP and very few PvE dungeons, nothing wrong with that of course but it is far from RAIDing.
We discussed that a lot actually, but we're a lot of PVPers and we raid together because that's the only thing you can do all together as a guild in wow, PVP is small scale only, raids have 25 + usually 10 on standby.
But in WAR we can PVP all together by making 1-2 full raids, it's gonna be a blast
No, roll Order on Azazel and enjoy whipping Destro over and over and over and over and over again. So much, in fact, that they roll alts and try to win in Tiers 1-3
-------------------------------------- A human and an Elf get captured by Skaven. The rat-men are getting ready to shoot the first hostage with Dwarf-made guns when he yells, "Earthquake!" The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do. When the Skaven get ready to shoot, the Elf, in order to scare them, yells, "Fire!"
Theres only really 3 'populated' EN servers, Norn, Azgal, and Eight peaks as Izor just bit the dust, those 3 are the high population servers Azgal being the most populated by GoA's own admission.
like I said Norn needs more order to be 'balanced' in the fight, Eight Peaks seems to want more destro players, Azgal is reported by a GOA GM as 'balanced'..
So basically if your guildmate is on Norn play Order to try and even it out if you wish, I know a few players on that side from Izor they are pritty nice ppl
hold on did the OP said his whole guild and another (lol yeah right) is moving to WAR becuase WoW PvP is unbalanced.... oh man if you think WoW is unbalanced I want to be there then you PvP in WAR LOL!
Hold on a sec. I've nothing against WoW, it's a great game but the PvP in WAR is 5 times more balanced and fun than WoW's will ever be. WoW is a PvE game and that's all it will ever be.
It's quite clear you have never played WAR before m8.

don't mind coffee...he is one of the ultra resident WoW fans and will do everything to discredit all other games
I realized the PVE was easy in WAR when I was feeling like a badass in pve raids which I never do. I just have always been a Pvper because I am better at reacting to random situations versus watching mods count down skills for me to hit and mods to tell me when to run away from AOE when to stand still ...stand in this spot hit this button.
btw my random paragragh didn't have much of a point hehe
While personally I always have a preferrence for the Light Side/Order guys, I'd advise Destruction. Simply because the devs liked Destro way more, and it shows in all the detail of the characters, the zones, the quests asf. So I suggest Destro.

Order has stronger classes in general (IB, WP, BW, RP) even if they sound more ordinary than the Destruction mirrors, (this by no means is a real inbalance issue) zones and quests are balanced.
In my opinion the original lore is a bit more interesting in the Destruction side, but as I said it is only a matter of opinion.
Some details are more unique in Destruction side (lore wise) and the classes sometimes sound more iconic, but it is like that in the original Warhammer, it is not exacly the devs responsibility.
The order classes have a lot of popular indentification like the typical elven and dwarven people, cinematographic characters like the Witch Hunter etc.
The balance in populated servers is pretty good these days and in RP servers sometimes Order has the upper hand population wise.
Op
You and your guild can and should try both before the final decision.
I find the idea of any half decent raiding guild coming to war weird. War might have his strong points, but none of those are actually pve raiding. Pvp can be nice if you have the mentality of a wow rank 14 player without the guts to pay the price from decay... thats in essence what rr80 means.
Now i have fun in war.. i log in, play about 60, at best 90 minutes and log out. In the early days I did play considerably but after hit 40, it become stale. Keep fliping is not my idea of endgame, and , with a past of raiding classic wow instances, find the pve of war subpar (not challenging).
1st advise is to not delete your wow chars. Believe it or not , you'll end up returning to them eventually.
2nd advise....Order or destruction... it all ends up the same thing... see what most of your guild wants to play and chose accordingly
3rd advise... really a personal view but.... choose what your tanks want, or you'll end up seeing them quit or reroling for the real classes they want, War is very different that wow in the aspect that in wow you'll end up having people playing hardcore classes they don't really really like because of the loot, in war... that doesnt happen. simply doesn't.
if you're looking for a challenge rather than easy mode (when it comes to pvp MUCH more destro) i would roll order. i never had fun rolling over other players with little effort,i enjoyed the order classes themselves more than the destro.dwarf engineer i liked the most just an all around unique class, throwing bombs, torrets, riffles alot of aoe dmg if you spec right. i was a grenader path idk if thats the best spec for damage but for me the grenades was the most unique aspect of the class.
witch hunter was my second favorite, while could be compared to rogue classes in other games they also had a uniqueness to them where their combo abilites used their pistol to execute at close range or mid distance.and idk hy but i kinda had a lil rp thing with them (and i never rp)because they aren't just stab stab stabing things just for the sake of inflicting damage. when they hit a mob they're "accusing" it of being a heritic and after they "accuse" them enough they become judge and jury and "execute" them. their combo abilities are called their "execution" abilities
witchelf on the other hand played just like rogue classes in other games been there done that kinda feel while i didn't play one very long just felt like i had played it before for years.wasn't like a comfort feeling more like a yawn.
i did like the melee healer type on destro side better than the warrior priest for order.even tho the WP is prolly the better of the 2 for survivabilty and dmg and healing i just liked the idea of the healer dw 2 swords more than the wp wich was like a paladin wich i have played before.even tho both have abilities semi unique to the game where they heal my meleeing and doing dmg (vanguard has healer classes that also do this but still kinda new to mmos)
I would normally say Order, because there are way too many destruction players as is. But the thing is, you will be outnumbered by a large margin and there, will probably get rolled all over in sieges. So if you want to be on the winning side of things, then roll Destruction.
I've played both sides in WAR. I also left WoW after over 3 years. I'm currently active with Destruction only. However, I don't feel like there's any overriding reason to pick one over the other. Any gamer worth his salt will try both sides anyway and one will stick for you. It's always a matter of personal playing taste.
Destruction is way better though. When I played Destruction always won, well almost.
Depends on the server. Order is always doing better (I'm Destruction) on the server I play. Destruction has a better look, IMHO. My Zealot is a stud!
Well I personally think Order looks better, especially witch hunters!
But it's like 80% telling we should go Destruction and only 20% here say Order ( Come on I need more arguments than "roll Order because it's doing better"
I have played Destro from the beginning on Karak Hirn and think that you should go order and come to my server. Its true that PVE raiding in WAR is easy, but it can be a fun diversion from RvR that doesn't take up all your time.
My server NEEDS you. You won't roll onto Hirn and dissapear amongst the masses of other players as you will on Azgal or Eight Peaks. If you want to be a real force on the server you pick, choose one with a lower level of Order (like Hirn) and get the bonus by rolling Order there. Coming in as reinforcements is a great way to start, and if you're as organised as you say, your guild could become a major leader in RvR.

Roll Destro on the best server in WAR: Phoenix Throne.
Order has a slight advantage, only slight. Otherwise the server is damn near even in terms of numbers and skill.
I'm not even sure that the folks in Happyland WHA would believe OP

typical wow noob .lol dont mind me,,,,, you should go order. most noob wow players go there anyways.
as for former daoc players. this is where you can go., destro.............

It's just his sig.
Ignore it. We don't need a flame war over something totally irrelevant to the thread.
