I never understood how people can let their lives be ruined by something such as WoW. I seriously don't get it. Not that there is anything wrong with the game, but it takes a month, maybe two if you play casually, to reach the cap level. It takes some extra time to get your gear together. What has me puzzled is how these people manage to find things to do in that game when you put this much time into it.
WoW is kind of like a drug. SOME people become dependant on it. I think a lot of hardcore players have probably experienced (at a different level) what that picture illustrates because of WoW.
I know I wasted a whole year playing WoW raiding while not really searching for a job and avoiding socialising. I also gained quite a few pounds.
Last MMO I played was AoC in August. I havent played an MMO since then. I recently got a job and am in the best shape of my life. Fortunately im not as bad off as that guy in the pic. But yeah, goes to show what an addiction can really do to you.
Currently waiting for the MMO industry to put out something good.
Hmm. Blaming MMO's for making moronic lifestyle choices is just so passé.
About time people started taking responsibility for their own choices and stopped trying to shift the blame for the consequences that arise from the bad ones; we're all supposed to be adults after all.
Eat a balanced diet, exercise for 30 minutes at least 4 times a week and hey presto, you can still play MMO's and maintain a healthy body weight and fitness level. It ain't rocket science.
Playing: EVE, Final Fantasy 13, Uncharted 2, Need for Speed: Shift
The picture can be edited anyway you want just load up paint and start cropping to reverse the order.
Ive seen this elsewhere, reversed so anything goes.
Edit: If you want proof he gets YOUNGER the FATTER he gets 2nd Edit: Check his ear rings
is obviously fake you gotta be dumb to think this is true.
and this hasn't happen to any of the people that I know in real life that have been playing wow since release they gotten strongeand bigger instead of pale, fat, smaller and horrible hair style like the picture shows.
(not me i started late).

Cant blame wow for what you did that is correct..Cant blame a fork that made you fat either..You took that step and went with your own choice..Now you made your own bed so sleep in it..It seems you got your self in and out good for you..Must abeen you had your fulfillment and you reap what you sow...No sympathy here..If you cant control your self then i would suggest to leave the games alone..Its not the Game..ITS YOU!

His ear rings are proof that this is fake...look at the middel top pick..he has those rings that stretch his shit out hardcore. ...then look at the older pics and zoom in..his rings are smaller....once the skin is streteched with those, it won't go back without surgery...fake as fuck.
WoW is already being blamed for the downfall of MMORPG's. Now this thread adds to WoW's resume teenager obesity and broken relationships.
What's next? I know, let's blame WoW for the economic recession and for global warming. Damn it Blizzard, you see what you did!

This was posted a few days ago; people disapproved. First off, look at the pictures. The "timeframe" people assume the player took, which lead him to be in shape and skinny then leading to out of shape and fat, is false. The person of reference has actually gotten skinnier and in better shape the older he became.
Some speculate that it isn't even the same person that is featured throughout the pictures.
lol - nice one Deacon...but I know the truth. We still have a date for this summer right?
Haha I never said that was ME, Teala I keep fit with martial arts and no mmo could stupify me into messing myself up like that ... besides there isn't even anything worth playing that much out right now in my opinion. Maybe when SWTOR comes out I'll be tempted to waste more time online...
I don't know if it's real or anything, I just found it and posted it for lolz and aws, whatever side of the fence you sit in.
Why do I write, create, fantasize, dream and daydream about other worlds? Because I hate what humanity does with this one.
Seen it before. The pictures are from some fitness site in reversed order. Doubt anyone would take pictures to keep track of himself becoming fatter.
But yeah, WoW sucks.

Seriously. If you do enough exercise, you can get away with a lot of shit. Hell, the main reason I started running was to make up for the extra beer (good beer at least) that I was drinking. Run 20+ miles a week and you can spend as much time as you want on your ass playing MMOs.

ZOMG! Playing WoW gave you a terribad haircut!?!?
You should sue.
Evil will always win, because Good is dumb.
Apparently that was his sister. WoW ruins cases of incest... damn you Blizzard!

It is hard to blame WoW for the downfall of MMORPGs when WoW is what caused the genre to EXPLODE into the mainstream.
I have often said that WoW is appealing to people who have a strong need to feel "uber."
It is similar to the raiders in Everquest of yesteryear.

My point is this: Do not trust photoshop.

As much as i piss on WoW on these forums, It can't be held responsible for a players addictive personality
I know players that have lost wives, jobs and gained or lost massive amounts of wieght playing MMOs.
First people blamed UO, then EQ now WoW.
If you can't control yourself don't play MMOs.
PLaying: EvE, Ryzom
Waiting For: Earthrise, Perpetuum
WoW causing MMORPGs to explode into the mainstream is the very reason people say it caused the downfall of MMOs
