I don't see why I should give my credit card info on a free trial. Gonna have to pass on this one...

As soon as you activate it just go through the log in interface and cancel it. I think you're just looking for a reason not to try it and this fit your bill perfectly. You could have saved yourself a lot of time and not posted this and gotten the same result.
Furthermore, since I'm sure you're really uninclined to try this disregard the help I gave you in the first sentence as well.

If I was looking for a reason not to try it, does it make sense that I would go through the trouble of downloading and patching? You seem defensive and hostile, couldn't you have just made the suggestion about cancelling without the assumptions that you know what my intentions are? If your condescending attitude is indicative of the "helpful" player base then I feel sorry for this game. You really are a great ambassador for your game!

Im sure when EA laid the groundwork to there billion dollar gaming company it was to create a game just to steal your CC info...
I really do not think its the same as "giving it to anyone" do you do the same thing at Walmart? Or truthfully is it because you don't have a CC and your mad about it.
Have you ever had a situation when you tried to cancel a subscription and it appeared to be cancelled only be billed again? I have and it was with EA when I cancelled my UO account, which was on a 6 month billing cycle. Why is everyone so angry? You all sound like you are 12 years old.
First off, Mythic made DAoC, not EA. EA just bought out Mythic for their games (just like they do with every other company).
Second off, I wouldn't put it past EA to do such a thing considering their history with their own customers. Doubtful they would, but not surprising if they did.
I know the history of Mythic just saying EA gets the cash now so didn't really think it was important to mention at one point Mythic was a small company bought out by EA.
I personally don't have a problem with EA I would consider them reputable enough as any other big MMO company (SOE,Blizz, Turbine) to offer them my CC information online.
Do I love EA no. I don't like the fact they cornered the market on NFL football games. Plus like you mentioned it seems they are more interested in owning gaming companies than making games.
There was a time they made some pretty great games. I played the orignal bards tale for long arse time back in 1985...lol wow im old.
I wanted to try this game but i remember now that it's only possible to play when you own a cc.
Three years ago (iirc) i tried to subscribe but i could only do it if i had a cc, i asked if it was possible to pay with a gametime card or something else but i was told that cc was the only way.
Didn't check again but i do hope they changed it because i really want to try this game.
Well I give DAoC kudos for requiring a CC to even do the free trial. Keeps out gold spammers. dumb kids and the first poster of this game. Common knowledge to just cancel yer CC info after putting it in. To come on here and complain about it is just childish. You'll find no sympathy here. Go play WoW, they dont have this requirement.

Goldfarmers wouldn't come to a game that has so few players so that's not a problem.
I think many would play the game if they could use something else than cc.
But i'm glad that it makes you all happy that cc is required

Actually you don't need a cc... a debit card will work also. If you cannot get either of those two then I would think you should not be playing mmo's to begin with and yes cancel ftw not hard.
Like I said, he was looking for a way out and this just happend to be oh-so-convenient. I mean if he was really interested in playing he'd ask for suggestions to perhaps remedy the situation.

I'm playing Eve online and Atlantica, but i guess i have to stop playing those mmo's because i don't have a creditcard or debit card.
And you seem to be very smart so i'm canceling both games.

No bottom line is if youre that worried about them taking your card and running then get a damn pre-paid card!! They sell them everywhere, even at Wal-Mart for gods sake. cant bill you if theres nothign on the card to pay with....
Hell anymore a pre-paid card to use for purchases online is the only sane thing to use, but with the big MMO companies there is very little issues.
And yes coming to these forums whining about a trial needing a CC# is pathetic, sorry to say it but it is..very pathetic and very EMOish. There are way too many other ways to get around it and running here like a little kid just to get the attention is sad. Whats next? Gonna post a youtube video of your next EMO whine fest?

I know there are EU ones because I picked up DAoC SI-TOA-CATA + 2 month subscription game card for a cool £4.49 from HMV.
