Thinking of trying VG out again

Hey, thinking of checking this game out again. I quit first time around due to performance issues and the fact that non of my friends wanted to play it. VG is still only sandbox game about at the moment, and its that i crave. So main questions are:
Are there still pvp servers and has anything been added pvp wise?
Have they improved spell effects and animations at all (another thing i didn't like was some races animations)
Do you think its worth returning to check out any new additions to the game, i last played for about a month after release.

Its not really a sandbox game, its still level/quest based but as far as being able to quest anywhere in the world at any level yeah its got that going for it.
PvP server is still dead and worthless.
BUT I still think you should come back. I recently returned and Im loving it. Nothing can beat the sense of community and depth in Vanguard right now. People are always grouping. Crafting is fun and useful. Content is plentiful. Classes are very diverse. Performance has improved a ton. Its a very solid game.
