Think Origins will speed up the combat a bit?

Or will the combat system be the exact same? I miss DAoC, Loved it, but after so many MMOs with a combat speed that is faster(not too fast like WoW's where you just spam buttons, but more like LOTRO) it'd be hard to play with the battle system the way it is.

The whole point of Origins is to go back to the original. I think it would be self defeating to give people something contrary to what they're asking for. Basically people are asking to go back to the start of the game where they have good memories. Changing combat speed, and other game mechanics would just piss off the people who are hoping to return. You'd be alienating the people you're trying to attract.
I know if they did something like what you're suggesting I'd rething my choice of going back and resubscribing to Origins if it ever releases.
No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-
they change the game so much now anyway its just to easy with all of it.. i dont really think the new server will ever come ot be.. as well the game is on a slow mode it seems.. for any kind of player i have played for 5 years in daoc and seen everything almost...

Why I hear you ask? Because I want everyone to see THIS badboy again for all it's glory in emain macha.
With all the patches, the game seems very dumbed down now. Hell, you can just level up in the tutorial area until 16!!! And yes, there is enough to level you up there. The game seems to much for the kiddies now that I've seen it with my own eyes.
I kind of doubt they will speed it up...I haven't played for a few years. But I bet it probably does feel slow now. I was looking forward to Origins server,but at this present time I'm not even sure I would try it out. The game is just pretty dead.

Hence the reason to bring Origins out, to make it not dead.
I'm not just talking in terms of players...Mythic has done VERY little to the game in the last year.
Dunno why but this is the first time i'm hearing about this "Origins".... Needless to say... EXCITED!!!!!
