EverQuest II: January Producer’s Letter

SzarkSzark News ManagerMember Posts: 4,420

In a letter to the EverQuest II community, producer Bruce Ferguson talks about The Shadow Odyssey and feedback about changes to the Fighter classes.

Hello there! Hard to believe it's the end of January already; it still feels like we just shipped The Shadow Odyssey just last week. And here I am again, with a brief update for all of you folks who love EQII so much.

First, let me thank you for your support on The Shadow Odyssey. It truly was a labor of love for the entire team, and we've been enjoying your comments about it, and watching you devour the content we toiled so long over. But now that we've got that out the door, we're looking ahead. Last summer, at Fan Faire, we discussed making some changes to the Fighter classes, in order to bring them back in line with our original vision, where all fighters manage their own aggro, instead of relying on other group members to channel them some hate. Making some of these changes will broaden the desirability of all fighter classes, and help increase their role in groups, without altering others.

Funny he doesn't dare to comment on the Station Cash.

Says enough about how (not) well it was received by the EQ2 community.

Otherwise he would have been raving about it.

Not really his fault, it is something SOE will implement in all their games. What do you expect him to do, slander his boss online?

Ofcourse not. It just tells how it was received by the community.

If Station Cash was well received, like they pretended it to be last year december, then he would have been raving about it today.

I've only seen people complain about Station Cash on forums, and never in-game. Not once.

Make of that what you will

I think it's a good call to hold off. While overall it looks to be mostly hashed out, there is clear room for tweaking before they push it to live.

Where have you been?  Everyone I know hates the idea that SOE randomly put RMT into EQ2.  We have lost people from our guild because of it, long time players.  I don't know anyone that likes it that still plays the game.  Make of that what you will.

Not really. I'm on Antonia Bayle, and have been in many discussions regarding the cash shop in 1-9 chat. There are many who aren't happy about it. But what can they do, besides stop playing the game? Nothing.

Who cares about station cash. Last time I looked it was all crap stuff anyway. People who are /ragequitting over it have bigger issues in there life. Station cash is here but in all honesty since it's release nobody on our server bitches about. Like I said it's all crap stuff anyway. Nothing that will make someone a better player.
