New Bike?

VampirVampir Member Posts: 4,239

I've been thinking about getting a new bike recently and am hving a bit of trouble deciding.

I can pretty much get any bike i want(within reason)

Im thinking about the ducatti 999r, upgrading to a new version of my firebolt, or playing around with some of the italian bikes(moogusa or something like that i think there called)

I like speed nbut not dumb speed that doesn't turn like my zx-14 did, ive had GSXr's before

any suggestions?

my firbolt outdrags one easy as shit with my performance parts on it.

Not to mention the hyabusa and the zx14 don't turn worth well at all.

im just not a fan of long bikes as a rule i think, ive owned a few they just don't fit my riding style

    What about a Ducati?

the 1098s looks nice.  If I had the money and experience I'd think about buying one.

No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-

Cheap and doesn't consume much fuel either. I personally like the color and the design. If you go to a steep hill and go (down the hill preferably) with this you may reach real high speed! Or do an epic faceplant. And should you impress any ladies, or men, or whatever, there's always a place for them behind your seat.

    Aye that's awesome.

Only trouble is, has it got good breakes?

Can't see any, and I am a bit worried what it will happen when I get to the base of the hill at 90 mph ..............

The MSRP for the 1098 is about $15k US, the 1098S is $20k US.  Maybe one day....

i like that a lot i just spt about an hour researching it.

Im gonna need to change out the exhaust, put a performance mod in it, and possible change out the intake.

I'm just gonna estimate the cost of parts on that then ill make a decision.

    Decide between Ducati or Buell

Both are great fuckin bikes.  Once you sit on a Buell, its like its ment for your ass.

By all means make it your own.  I need to still break into the whole motorcycle world.  I need to start out with something a lot smaller.  Over 1k CC is just way too much for what I plan to do which is just ride and get experience.  2 years ago I came pretty close to buying a bike but for some reason didn't.  Like I said one of these days...  Hopefully the economy will fix itself soon and I'll be able to make more money and be able to splurge once again.

The bike I posted up above just looks nice to me.  Based purely on looks I'd take it over the Hayabusa.  I can only assume that the Italians know what they're doing when it comes to bikes.

You guys have all got it wrong, this bike is the way to go, you'll stand out and feel like you're the king and everyone else are peasants! Oh and to top it off a kinky seat.

We're all Geniuses. Most of us just don't know it.

be careful, jut because the cc's are low doesn't mean t isn't fast their are a lot of killer 600 cc bikes like the R6is the best example.

best starting bike is a buell blast no matter what.

Buell's are great bike's period but my firebolt is just getting old to me i wannado somehing diferent but with the mods i want on that duccatti its gonna run me like 24k total,  I thnk im gonna go for that, the paintjob is whats gonna kill me on the cost.

Don't worry.  About 6 years ago I burried a friend who died because of a motorcycle accident.  I'm well aware of the risks.

As a kid both my dad and his brother owned motorcycles and I remember riding on both of them and had a lot of fun.  I'm looking to now own my own and hopefully soon I will be able.

ya but buell also has the lowest cost of maintenence for most of their bikes, overall their the best starter bikes for street bikes

I was looking at the blast and the look is just ... odd.  I think I need to see one in person.

What's the MSRP for one of those anyways?  I guess insurence would be cheeper too since it's under 600 cc

    around 4-5k new.

But used they are cheap as shit

    easy to insure also.

But the major difference between buell as hs been posted before is comfort level, and the thing i like is their brakes their brakes kick ass buell blasts are funner then shit to ride even for their small amount of power compared to any other bike ive had.

Not to mention maintenence on any harley product is a hell of a lot cheaper.

For instance just comparing the cost of oil filters and oil their is a difference.

Not to mention if you do decide to trick out a buell or harley parts are cheaper.

A good exhaust on my GSXR was around 900 in the minimum, a buel or harley you can ge really good exhausts for around 300 starting, easier to install.

Only reason im switching is i really want a high end foreign bike thats not japanese(excluding bmW im not a fan)

Do you race?  I can't imagine there would be a place other then a track where you could really get the full potential of a 1000cc+ machine.  Actually I just looked in your profile and it says you're from New Mexico I guess with all that desert out there nobod's lookin

I rode a MV Agusta F4 1000 Tamburin and let me tell you that, I got an erection riding that thing. Sexy bike, I'd curb stomp Jessica Alba for that bike...then when her face gets repaired I'll take her too.

ummm howdo i phrase this without getting into trouble because i am not allowed to anymore.

I've had fun on the road.

But their is a really good road to either do a drift race in cars on or race bikes down in the mountains right by where I live, but it's got cops sitting on an X all the time now.

I've had fast cars, fast bikes, good off roaders.

But i can't get into troubl anymore so this next bike is for a track
