im currently looking for a new game to try, or an older game i've been away from that has had some changes worth coming back too, i've played WOW, SWG, runescape, EQ and COX but had one problem or another with all of them, i also had my SWG disks destroyed, so id need to pick those up anyway...damn three year olds...im taking any suggestions, but i may as well tell you what i liked about all of them so you guys can give me the best suggestion.

WOW- for wow, i mostly liked how the pets worked, and how its more dungeon based. for fun, but quest based for leveling. im not a huge fan in grinding...in that it makes me want to scream and throw my computer out a window. i really do like some of the classes though, and kept in contact with a few of the friends i made on there so, i may go back..but i highly doubt it.

SWG- i really dident like much about this. it could of been that i was just starting but. i just couldent figure out what i was doing or what was going on, i for the most part have no problem learning how to play games but..i just couldent wrap my head about this one.

RS- i love how its entirely skill based, being able to choose exactly what your going to do at any time is great. hate the cheap graphics though, but thats my only real complaint.

EQ- loved playing a mage, the pets ruled but thats the only class i really liked, i also hated the dead playerbase, and the fact that there are so many expansions you gotta drop 150$ a week to catch up.

COX- eh, not much to say about this one, the player base was prety much dead. the classes where OK but apart from stalkers on COV, most just arent for me.

now, the games im thinking about trying are AOC, EQ2, or WAR. i doubt ill ever pick up WAR untill theres a free trial though. but ill take any and all suggestions

Consider Vanguard. It was authored by the same guy that started EQ. It has a lot of the feel of EQ with plenty of quests and non instanced dungeon crawling.

thanks, ill look into it. also i prefer games with mounts..just a personal preferance.

Vanguard has a plethora of mounts. There are horses for everyone, each race has their own mount that you can work for, there are a ton of flying mounts and you can buy ships.

i tried vanguard, but my video card isent good enough for it. and, EVE just doesnt seem like my thing

I am not sure how well you run it but I'd say give EQ2 a run. I haven't played since pre RoK but I had a lot of fun with the community and the content the game offers. There are a lot of character options due to a lot of races and classes. My biggest complaint is the look of a lot of the armor in the game.

Give the trial a run, mostly to see if you like the combat mechanics and to see how the graphics do on your computer.

What video card do you have?

im not 100% sure to be honest, all i know is it said i had "p=2.0, v=0.0 needed p2.0, v=2.0" so..whatever the "V" is im 2 short. and it said something about shadows....and, im having trouble uninstalling vanguard now. im on vista, but the only thing i can do is uninstall either the station launcher, or the shortcut.

Click on preferences in the launcher and in the bottom left? maybe right side but I am sure it's left is a tab for Vanguard, click on that and there should be a choice to uninstall through the Station Launcher.

Also if you don't know this, find the run app on vista. If you cannot find it in your start menu, open up my computer and in the search function on the top right type out run and look for a run shortcut. If you find that open it and type "dxdiag" in the type box thing and hit enter(don't type the quotations). If you click on the display 1 tab it should tell you what your video card is where it says Name:---------

I am terrible at typing out directions but I hope at least one of those help you out.

hmm, well is there a game LIKE vanguard, that my card can handle? cause if there is ill gladly give that a try. but im really not going to buy a new one just to TRY a game. also does anyone know if theres a way to check all my characters on city of villians without logging in? preferably something like the WoW armorie
