Hello,
Sorry to make another "what should I make" thread, but I did not want to steal Mangostar's thread. Basically I am just looking for something that is a unique class. When I come to a halt in my brainstorming process for new classes I seek out the opinions of other players. I have hit that point and I am currently worse off than when I started the brainstorming process. If anyone could shed some light on any class you think to be unique and fun, by all means give me what ya got! I currently play a Berserker and a Troubador.
I want something just pure fun, can't get enough of it, and I don't care about group roles or how easy it is to find a group. I just want something I can just go to just because it is fun.
I am not saying that the classes I am playing aren't fun, because they most definately are, I just could not think of another way to describe what kind of class I want to try out. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I'm currently fond of both Necro and SK
with necro,
I have choice of 3 different pet styles to use
i get feign death
I can rez others
I can lifetap mobs to heal self, or lifetap myself to heal others
I can invis self or others (like all casters can)
I can give out waterbreathing stones or power stones
with lichform, I'm rarely out of power even tho I have no drink
specced in the AA Tainted heals, my tank pet can easily take on heroics and not die
with SK, a class that seems to be flavor of the month
im a caster tank hybrid
I get a fun harm touch
I can Feign death myself or others
I get group evac
specced in the AA Reaver line, my damage heals me too
both monks and bruisers get a fun skill called Devastation Fist
- which is similar to the SK harm touch with a 5min re-use
eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Devastation_Fist
can instantly kill some enemies at full health with 1 blow !

I tried a Coercer a few weeks back just to mess around with when I was bored...Well,it ended up being alot more fun then I thought it would be. Anyways I'm level 75 now...going to try to push to 80 this weekend if I find the time.
I gotta agree with Nadia here, though I prefer Conjuror over Necro having played both to 80; Although they miss out on the feign death, they do get a spell that allows you to summon groupmates to your side across the zone. This comes in very handy at times. Oh, and I love the lvl 80 Conj spell 'Communion' because it enables you to have all your pets out for 30 seconds, and makes farming nameds much easier
The basic differences between Conj and Necro is that Conj can tank stuff better, but Necro has more dps. Necro is fun to play all the way, but I found that Conj hits a 'flat' spot in the late 60s.
However, Shadowknight absolutely rocks right now - that's why everyone and their Aunt Flora has one
Even at 80, you'll still find yourself herding up a group of mobs, then using your plentiful and powerful AoE spells to wipe them out. It really is damn good fun and just thinking about it makes me want to log mine in and brave the lag on AB. lol
Another one of my favourites are the brawler classes. I've only played a Bruiser for any real distance, but I'm sure that Monk is about the same. You can go in, slap a load of mobs around, and feign death if it gets a bit hectic. They're great for farming shinies to sell, and have a really good utility prospect when combined with tinkering. What I do is enter an instance on my Bruiser, run/FD my way to the bosses, use call of the tinkerer (secondary tradeskill ability) to summon my Conj (dual boxing), then use the Conj to summon a group of players. I can make quite a bit of money doing this on a good day.
thanks for the conjuror feedback -- communion sounds like alot of fun, even tho its at lvl 80

Oh it is, and upon further thought, I think it's the only reason I prefer Conj over Necro. Hehe
Another class that I think is well worth mentioning would be Warden.
Although they're labelled as a healer, there's a lot more to them than that
Here are the plus points that bring them to mind:
Portals: You can open up portals for yourself and others to any of (currently) 9 locations in the world providing you have visited them at least once before to unlock them.
Evac: Very useful for hairy situations when things are going pear shaped
High DPS: With 75% melee crit available to you through AA choices (my 80 Warden is currently at 89% in his solo gear), you can really put out the DPS when you want to, and without it costing much coin.
Heals: Not many realise this, but Wardens have the biggest solo and group heals in game. Of course, not many spec themselves to take advantage of this, but this is when an AA mirror comes in handy You also have the ability (through AA) to give every swing of your stick the chance to heal your group. This saves you loads of power, and I rarely actually cast any heals when soloing.
Run Speed Buffs: With AA, you can get yourself up to 50% run speed, thus potentially saving you the cost/effort of getting yourself a mount. You can also make others run at this speed, so people love you long time.
I appologize for the late response but I really appreciate the feedback guys! Thanks so much! I have been pondering the Necromancer class for quite some time, and I was really wondering about Conjuror so the information you guys gave out was very helpful, thanks again!
No worries Bryan. We're generally a friendly lot in the EQ2 section
Let us know what you decide and how you get on.
I think I may have finally settled on the class. I am giong to make a NEcromancer, haven't had much time this week - I've been so busy at work.. I will finally be able to make him today!
I haven't played EQ2 in awhile, but I have played a lot fo these MMO's, and what I have learned is I gain the most longevity out of playing hybrid classes (i.e., classes that can fight and cast some spells) over the pure fighter or caster classes.
There is something fun and even magical about having non-combat utitliy skills and spells that just adds to the immersion; playing traveling adventurer "with a few tricks up his sleeve."
So, to answer your question, Troubador is a great class that fits that description. Some of the Shaman-type classes as well, and I am sure a few others.
I betrayed my Troub to Dirge this morning due to almost constantly being passed over in favour of a Dirge, and couldn't be happier.
Despite going from fully Master/Adept 3 spells to Apprentice 1 (for testing purposes), I saw my DPS and survivability skyrocket. It's a shame, and I never truly believed it until now, but Troub really is ridiculously inferior to a Dirge in all ways aside from giving a minor boost to mages.
Time to go harvest me some rares! lol
