I'm in the Final Stress Test, finaly... I get to try Wow, but not for long. But! I can finally give my quick two pennies about the game. I'm not sure were all the hype is coming from.
*Graphics are alright, I tend to think of them as a cartoon-like Horizons which is not a bad thing if thats what you like. I didn't mind it but its not my bag of tea.
*Music is good and fits the areas very well. I found to enjoy any of the music that had chanting in it and the rest was just good. Hrmm... I already forgot if there was battle music... I like battle music. Shows how much I was paying attension.
*Quests got old quick but payed out very well. I based my leveling off questing becaused it seemed to go faster at that point then solo'ing. I never grouped yet and I'm sure that will be quicker. I'm still a low level. Quests don't care what you are. You can do any quest it seems (from my experiences) and get the same choise of items as your reward. Down side, some times you can't use any of the items that you get for a reward.
*Cash Flow seems to be on par with a what you need basis. When ever I'd reach a level that gave me access to new skills, I'd be almost broke when I bought them but by the time I leveled to a skill level again, I had the cash for new ones. I never went out of my way to farm anything. All Equipment was gained from quests and all items looted for merchant fodder was aquired while looking for quest items.
*Fun Factor - I couldn't stay involved. All of the characters I made couldn't hold my interest. Now on the this next part people will probably start flaming me, but I don't care. This is how the game was to me....
None of my characters could get to level 10 (they could if I kept on playing, but I always lost interest in them). I see this a bad thing for me. I made roughly 7 characters and the highest I could stand playing any of them was to level 7 (my undead warlock and night elf druid). Even now though I have no desire to try to get them up futher. I will mostly play my druid again, but it's not tugging at me and calling my name like other games have when I logged off.
Over All-ness, nothing really original (from others that I have played) besides a huge amount of quests, collecting quest, all set in a different world.
Some might argue that my characters levels are to small, but your starting moments in any game are the most important. Some things said above might change at a higher level but there is nothing to hold MY interest to get there.
To close it all off, the lower level game is your standard cookie-cutter but upgraded. Nothing new to drag ME back. On a scale of 1 to 10 (ten being the best) I'll rate this game in MY personal rating book as a 7. I can see others liking the game, but its not for me.
Thank you.

*Yawn* Don't be a whiny n00b. Why bother complaining when you can't even bother playing the game for more than a few hours?
CIM_LW is the whiny n00b here.
Theely at least put some effort in constructing his post providing both positive and negative opinions on the game. I appreciate anyones opinion as long as they take the time to provide intelligent explanation.
Myself, I find WoW to be incredibly addictive. Following the lore of warcraft, I felt that my characters mattered to me as I became more and more immersed in the world that I've been playing (Warcraft series) and reading about. WoW has so many nuances and nice touches that it makes the world feel very alive. Things like bells chiming to the hour, various modes of transportation (I love the tram and air rides!), mail system, auction system, ghost world, helpful and lively npcs in cities, wildlife... I especially liked not having to spend hundreds of dollars upgrading my system to run the game at decent settings. (I had been pondering EQ2 for a while now and decided it was not worth all the money I needed to spend).
The only thing I'm concerned about at the moment is the seemingly fast level progression and the lack of housing(or some personal space like instanced housing). I sure hope the community is more friendlier now that the monthly price has been announced.
I will play WoW purely because it sounds fun, but most of the negative comments have been how easy it is to acheive the higher levels. Blizzard have stated they aim to please both hardcore and casual players, I can see how casual plaers (like myself) will like this game because there is virtually no down time and it sounds a lot of fun, but I fail to see how they can keep the interest of a hardcore guild for example. They will reach lvl 60, get bored and leave. Maybe Blizzard have something up their sleeve, I hope so.
Well, I certainly appreciate even the negative posts like this.
It's a bit like reading a movie review from some magazine. You can't really say if you should believe what the review says about the movie unless you either know what other movies the person doing the review likes OR can read it and think for yourself.
If you like the game, say so. For me the people who scream "you whinny ass, stop whining and get back into the grind" are more of a deterrant than people who say clearly what they liked about the game, and what they didn't.
Original poster actually encouraged me to try out the game, because I like games where leveling is fast and income is balanced. First reply to the report on the other hand kindly reminded me that "well, most people in WoW will be jerks and blind fanboiz, don't bother." Thank you to both of you
Original poster should try the game a bit more because its a fun game however he got one aspect right the game is NOT innovative or bring anything new.
I am yet to run into anything in WoW that makes me say"hey this is new or orginal" .
However,is this a bad thing? If you take a concept from another mmorpg and it works great is it not better then something new that workd like crap?
Thanks to almost everyone for your comments lol.
I will continue to see what I can do in the game. I'll play until EQ2 comes out and then I'll give that one a shot as well and do another review
Although I have a feeling it will be about the same.

Thanks for your one-day assessment. Please subscribe to EQ2. . .they need the support
Theely, I'm happy to see you're being as honest as you can about how you feel about this game. But from reading your review I feel like you may have started the game with a negative point of view, and this seemed like ruining your whole game experience.
Also, from my point of view, the games gets more interesting after level10;
firstly, you get your skills points from level10...
secondly, you'll do your first big dungeons (instance) around level 18-20
thirdly(lol, does that word exist? :P ), epic, important, class specific-quests, BIG MOBS! :P, as well that the one I had more fun, are at higher levels than that too.
fourthly, whats fun about a MMORPG is to play with people... to reach level10, you don't have to group often.
Oh.. and about graphics, I played EQ2 (just an exemple to compare), and even tought it is clear the engine is more advanced.. I really enjoyed WoW's better, why?, because I could play the game with damn GREAT FPS!. I have a 6800GT video card.. and to get the game fluid enough in EQ2 (I want 50-100fps in a game.. not less never..) I had to lower the graphics pretty low. WoW on the other side, graphics does the job.. maxed out, and is still FLUID!
Also about useless items, remember you can sell them get cash, and bargin on the Auction House, I swear you're missing a great part of WoW still. Try exploring the game with a more positive aspect, again, you seemed like you WANTED this game to be bad at first.

Above is just my opinion, there is no point at flaming against someone's opinion, thanks
I am thankful for the free stress test ,it gives me a chance to try the game before i subscribe ...thanx blizzard/fileplanet.Theely's assesment of the game is pretty much dead on to what i witnessed myself.
The game engine is very cheap, there is almost no animated textures used at all.The graphics look clean ,only because the textures are very cheap. The player customization did not do anything to excite me into the game,i just wanted to get in and try the battles out.Even if you try every different customization ,your characters still all look the same. Not that its a biggie with me ,it just kinda proves that customization is and shouldnt be a big concern to players.,unless the character really looks alot different afterwards then maybe its usefull.
The battles were again really cheap kinda korny looking, not a typical of a gaming engine moving forward but more or less backwards in developement.Overall it just felt very CARTOONISH in looks and play. For the totally biased player ,the gaming engine nor graphics will change no matter how many levels you play it for.Even in an older cheap engine like final fantasy, the grass moves like its in the wind ,hair flows in the wind, the overall atmosphere has a more realistic look.,not that its a state of the art engine either, but proves that this game is not moving forward.
I did kind of enjoy playing it,but realized its not a keeper ,or a game i see myself spending hours on end playing.I also really enjoyed the voicovers and funny emotes they were great. But i would be a pretty simple minded player if the emotes alone would carry me through this game.
Overall it strikes me more as a game oriented to very young players who wanna goof off with some emotes and a little pvp action ,to wich i saw some funny stuff happening along those lines. As a serious rpg not really IMO.I doubt big timer SONY will give any free beta/stress testing ,to the level blizzard did,as they cant fill there coffers that way.One way or another that will be my next game to give a fair shake at.I hope the whole game doesnt revolve around the guilds as that would makit a much too linear game for my liking ...we'll see.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
you should reallly try to play a bit more ... taking all quests in a quest-giving town at the same time helps. Grouping helps a lot, you can even take different mobs close to eeach other and go much faster that way.
At 10 is where the characters become more involved as you get to use Talents (if avail.) and of course get more skills.
Getting professions asap too.
Too bad you didn't get into it.

So Wicked, it's good.
I am playing a Tauren Hunter and this game is ssssooo good in so many ways.
Its just well thought out and well constructed, nothing shody.
As for graphics, they get better and better in the game as you travel about.
If your an EQ Beastlord fan, play a hunter they are stupidly superior in game play.
Now playing: VG (after a long break from MMORPGS)
Played for more than a month: Darkfall online, Vanguard SOH, Everquest, Horizons, WoW, SWG, Everquest II, Eve
Oh course they are, because theyve had about 6 or 7 years to be developed by other EQ clones.
Thank you for your words of advice and opinions!

Says alot about a game when you can level 7 characters up to almost 10th level on each in so little time eh? And relax man, no need to insult the poster because he is not in love with the game like you are. Remember its just a freaking game and it is HIS opinion. It's not he is talking about your momma.
My biggest complaint on this game is its way to dumbed down for me. Guess for some who want it now and fast it will be great. But I need a game with some depth. I don't care how hard the end game is in it, its cheapens the experience. The end game should be a reward for the top tier players not for everyone. Where is the spirit of competition in this game? Guess what its not there. For example its like having every baseball team get into the a wildcard game. Who cares if the Red Sox or Yankees wins 100+ games in a season, when a 20 win team gets in the play-offs with them. No drive to do better or develop skills to make your game better.
I am like him, if I can't get into the class or toon I can't play the game period. Why even waste time in a game if you are not enjoying it. Especially if thier monthly rate will 13-15 bucks a month.
