Sorry not fully Star Wars related.......BUT

I am sure there are a few looking for either more sandbox feature's or more sandbox MMO's and not seen some of you in this topic so thought of sharing the link to the topic thats in the PUB.

linkrealms....finally something decent for the sandbox crowd

Things that looked good in writting, myself, no experiance as of yet with the game, downloaded it and sign'd up for the beta will try when possible this weekend, keep reading or just ignore this post and contineu with the link as this topic is not really SWG related but thought this might intrest a few of you. Yes even those of you I might not alway's agree on regarding SWG

The nature of the Linkrealms universe. With the exception of certain adventure areas, the entire landscape is created & owned by the players themselves. Players have access to a very large database of graphics to build a unique realm to match their personality. Your realm serves as your home, a place where you can store & display your belongings, host get-together's with friends, practice gardening, a safe retreat from the day's adventures, you name it. The way in which realms are linked assures other players will wander through your realm out of necessity in many cases to get from point A to point B, which means what you create will be regularly seen & experienced by other players.

Non class-based, open-ended character skill system. Unlike some other RPG's, you won't be required to choose a character class in the beginning thereby committing yourself to a style of game-play you might end up not enjoying. You can choose during the course of game-play which skills you wish to develop, and if you change your mind you can work on different skills at any time.

HIGHLY customizable player appearance & personality. Linkrealms has several highly customizable player races, and many more to come in the future. The game has one of the largest collections of wearable items available in a MMO, with more being added all the time. There are many ways to ensure your character displays your own preference & personality. Unless you are actually trying to do so, it is highly unlikely that 2 players will ever look identical.

Don't be scared as it has a item mail:  first thing I thought OH NOES...........but the type of game, the things they offer from the start is something I myself don't really mind, depending how much fun I would get out of the game without spending anything on a item-mail, would I need to start to invest rl cash in these item mails in order to fully enjoy all aspects of the game, then it already isn't the game for me, but what is said about doesn't look that bad for now

We here at Mythyn Interactive see the same issues you see in the games you play. All too often "Free to Play" games sell weapons, armor, and other enhancements that create imbalances in game play. The purpose of the store is not to simply pour cash into your character and dominate the playing field.

The store contributes more to the "sandbox" elements of the game. It is to be a source of items such as decorations, cosmetic appearance of your character, time savers, and event modules to create more versatility in your realm.

It is part of our core design philosophy that goals be achieved in game, not in the store.

There will not be any attempt to sell via the store any items that drastically unbalance gameplay or destroy the fun of the many for the benefit of the few. http://www.linkrealms.com/store/

    no thank you :)

(on another note, i wish people would stop advertising other games in a non related forum of that game)

upon further review, this game has nothing to do with swg........

not even close - f2p, fantasy, only similarity is a sandbox nature.

well in that case i am going to start advertising eve since it is alot clsoer to swg than linkrealms.

Sorry for sharing something I thought might intrest a few that might not know of this game, sorry that it's advertizing to you, would be if I had any kind of ties to the game or it's company, I am just a gamer that likes to share things/info about things I think some might be intrested in.

i understand, just getting tired of reading a forum of interest only to see "hey this game is like old xxx" or "this game sucks, try xxx"

i guess the darkfall fans just got me annoyed by doing this.

Part of the reason I started coming to this forum was in hope I'd find a game to replace SWG, and what better community to ask then SWG vets.

For myself I definetly appreciate the heads-up Reklaw, although I'm not sure it's really what I'm looking for.

I agree on RMT being a big turnoff for me aswell and will never go into RMT.

And I fully understand people stand against it, especialy with most recent doings with RMT with several games and or company's.

But even though I know the game will have RMT, I am bound to atleast give the none-RMT part of the game a chance and see what is like, I was not to excited when I saw the trailer as again it was far to combat oriented to me, but reading up on the faq showed me things I would like to see in a game.

Also keep in mind the game is in beta, so it doesn't really hurt the wallet for atleast trying it. And must say even though I have a low trust issue with gamedevelopers what they said about there RMT does sound not to bad and it aint Smed who said it....hehe I also still believe that there are still developers/gamecompany's that are also pasionat gamers, I can not say that this company is like that cause honostly the original OP in the Pub was the first time I ever heard of them so have no idea who they really are, not seen any familiar names pop up with that game

In case you didn't read their store faq....here:

Although I'm also totally against RMT's this really did impress me. They seem to be completely sensitive to peoples' concerns regarding the microtransaction model, and sincerly want to build a great game rather then focusing on a business model that is wrapped in a game.

This doesn't look like the game I'm looking for but I wish them success if they can respect "the gamer" as much as this appears.

Thanks reklaw. Part of being in this veterans community of what was once a great game, but is now a piece of junk, is finding a replacement.

This doesn't sound like my cup of tea, but if one person finds a happy home after his home was destroyed by SOE, you did a good thing.

Just ignore any trolls who think this suggestion doesn't belong here. They do not have the veterans best interest at heart.
