Who's getting Street Fighter IV?

Rikimaru_XRikimaru_X Member UncommonPosts: 11,718

Please tell me if your getting it and if your getting it for 360/Windows PC what is your Tag? I want to beat some of yall members up. Also is any of you going to join the SFIV National Tournament? Prety Riki will be in it, but I'm not sure how far I will go. I do have the confidence to at least go to round two praying that people who go to my gamestop won't uhh..enter, but seeing as how many came to get the preordered Fallout 3 I might be in for a show.

I probably won't be buying it...it just doesn't seem new and different enough to warrent paying 60 dollars for the game when my roommate has it on his sega genesis (and it's also available on xbox live for like 6 dollars)

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

Wouldn't hurt to rent it man.

Not that I never forget how, but that I haven't ridden a bike in eight years....

I have not figured out how I'm going to be playing it.  All I know is that it's gonna happen.  I gotta look into the Windows version and then I need to get around to either buying an arcade stick or making my own.  Playing those kinds of games without an arcade stick and big buttons is sacrilige.

No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-

I'm a big fan of soul caliber and killer instinct games but am willing to try something new.  Is there a rock paper scissors sort of system or a "who can keep the most pressure on wins" system?  Are combos interuptable or are you at your foes mercy until he makes a mistake? I haven't ever played any street fighters.

  • IlliusIllius Member UncommonPosts: 4,142

It's not like Killer Instinct with combo breakers but it's not a juggle fest either.  The pace of the game is slower the Marvel vs Capcom where it's an all out spamfest and the characters seem like they're on crack.

I suggest you go to Gametrailers and check out some of the videos.  It might give you a better idea of how the gameplay is so that you can make the call for yourself.  Oh and they're bringing back Dan Hibiki... how can you go wrong?

Sega Genesis has SF2: Champions Edition which is un-balanced (after this SF2:Turbo was made iirc).
XBLA version has SF2:HD remix which is rebalanced SF2Turbo with redrawn HD-graphics (few bugs still in though, but most won't notice them).
SFIV is completely new, both battle system & engine.

I got SF2:CE (megadrive), SF2:HD-remix, SFA3:Max (playstation) and pre-ordered SFIV with the fightpad.

Now SFIV does go back to SF2 because SF3 only managed to get a hardcore following, which is imho not surprising as parry system made the gap between newbie-regular-hardcore player gigantic.

Yah, only one juggle is allowed and Dan's alt costume is just hilarious.

Gamertag but I'm not sure if X360 and PC will be  connected. I thought you had a X360?

I'll get it at some point, but I don't typcially buy games until I can get them for around $10-15.

Looking at the E3 trailers of this game i can wait to get my hands on it!... i wish my pc at hom could handle it (crossing fingers)

I'll be getting Street Fighter IV for the PS3.

Good luck 360 owners with the poorly designed Dpad.

Unless of course, you're willing to spend even more money on a better controller

What a smart ass comment. People who will use the Dpad knows to get the FightPad. That's what I got. for the GameSpot National Tournament you have to use the X360 controlers, so good thing I'm good with the left stick.

When I get it I'll be using something like this:

Either that or I make my own.  I can't play fighting games on a regular dpad of any kind.

No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-

I got the X360 Madcats FightPad with Ken on it. It's a beast on Remix HD, but I can't use it when the game comes out, because I'm going to be joining the Torunament and they are using regular controlers.

Looking at the screenshots i couldn't wait for this game to be released! it might not be better than tekken or the other fighting games in the market but im sure it's better than that awful DC VS Mortal Kombat crap
