I was sort of dragged into this on a family member's birthday request.... and I thought it was pretty damn good. I knew it wouldn't be a terrible movie, but I just didn't think it was worth seeing in theaters. It was nothing like I thought it would be. Let's just say it has torture, rape, prostitution, murder, organized crime, acid-in-the-face, and people being set on fire. Not saying this is what makes it a good movie, just that it really threw me off. Don't be put off by the violence however, since there are a lot of funny scenes scattered throughout as well.
Basically the movie is about a contestant on the Indian version of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" and how he learned, through hard life lessons while growing up in the slums(and I mean slums), the answers to the trivia questions. That description doesn't do the movie plot justice, but it makes for an interesting idea and doesn't give too much away. I strongly recommend this movie and suggest you give it a shot.

What does he do with the million dollars he wins?
We're all Geniuses. Most of us just don't know it.
He uses both the money and the show to get in contact with the girl he grew up with (and loves) so they can run away together... Fantastic movie...
What'd you think of the soundtrack OP?

For all of the horrible topics this movie covers it was surprisingly upbeat. It's an unusual film and is well worth seeing.
Everyone needs to see it.
"The liberties and resulting economic prosperity that YOU take for granted were granted by those "dead guys"
It already won several prizes, not least 7 Bafta's yesterday night.
It is also a favourite to win many Oscars.
So it must be good
