Is the performance improved since the launch? Cause when the game came on the market you needed a serious pc to run it on max. I had a 4200, 2gbddr800 and a 7900gtx and I wasn't able to run it on that. If i wanted to force AA and FSA the frames dropped to a point I could play...How is it now if you want to play on max with forced AA and FSA? Will I be able to run it with my pc or...? And what when thei're lots of people in a battle? I can run Wow and Lotro on max without any problems..

i think if you are using that spec you should be able to run it fine, i would suggest using the "fastest framerate" setting especially for PvP purely because i have found that when running the graphics on high whilst in scenarios etc you tend to get too many animations from moves which slow down your performance.
There is something wrong here 'couse my system is barely bette then your ( and only in graphics card, I have 8800 GTS ) and I was running my game in high from the very start.
To answer your question : Yes, there were HUGE improvements, but then again WAR made HUGE strides in pretty much everything since launcg.
Just for reference my curent computer runs the game in high settings with anti-aliasing on x8 with no probalems at all ( now with changes done to castle battles even those are smooth ) :
Graphic Card : Geforce 8800 GTS 512
CPU - Intel 6600
RAM - 4Gb
I just want to say that changing anti-aliansing to x8 in the driver settings ( not in-game settings ) makes the game look really fantastic, i highly recommend it to everyone.

In the end, yes. The game is running better for old and new systems alike.
Torrential: DAOC (Pendragon)
Awned: World of Warcraft (Lothar)
Torren: Warhammer Online (Praag)
It's improved a lot, but there's room for more improvements, and according to Mythic, performance improvement is still something they have prioritized.
Game magazins told the same. My system specs should run the game on medium :P And you have 4gb ddr and I have 2. BTW do you have a few screen with and without forced AA and FSA so i can see the difference before renewing my gametime :P
You should be able to run it...I'm no longer playing but I was playing long enough to see their first optimization and there was nice improvements with it. If you can afford the card the 8800GTX or GTS OC Score easily double on benchmarks then your card. Or 9800 series is good as well.
I'm not slamming your video card...but it's probably getting about time to upgrade it.
how about the 3870 then? just 90 euro ^^
im having it installed togheter with
intel e7400
4gb ddr2 800
and new mobo
guess it will run fine on this one, my old system had like 5 fps,
but ok, it had a 1.8ghz single core proc ...
Sorry I don't know anything about Radeon's really...other then I always hated them. I always had a million more problems. And Nvidia driver support was always way better.
Although the 3870 spec wise are pretty much the same performance as the 8800 nvidia series.
Yes, but just a little bit, they still need to optimize the game especially in populated pvp battles and cities.
...
The improvements are VERY slight and mostly you don't see any difference, even on the empty servers with nothing going on. If you tried it before and the slowdowns and lag was massive, you most likely won't see any significant improvements.
Very curious as to how you see that NO improvements have come about, seeing as you apparently have not played in a while.
I have found a huge increase in performance when it comes to large scale warfare. Still some work to be done, But with my 8600mgt I can partake in Fortress Sieges with 30-45 fps if i set the game to fastest framerate (2xAA and 8xAS always enabled)
And the 7900gtx is better than an 8600mgt
neller is a known WAR hater and I would take anything that he says with a truckload of salt.
and i would say 8800 series are slightly more expansive, especially the higher ones
I have a 8800GTS-card and the game runs fine now, IMHO there have been some significant changes to the performance since launch.
I used to get CTDs a lot in the beginning, and now I can't remember the last time I had one.
btw;
ofcourse your processor aint that good aswell, and the am2 socket cpu's aint that expansive, so you could buy something like the 5600, just 75 euro ^^
ofc i like intel more, but if you have to upgrade your mobo for that might be a bit too expansive. however, with the 5600 and an 8800 serie or 3870 serie cart and 2gb ram (xp i hope) you can play pretty lagless i guess.
gl m8
on 800x600 you will have over 100 FPS with that system on max...
I personally play on 1920x1200 with everything on max, but my system is quite a bit faster than yours and can handle that.

Or you could stop the hype and lies and be honest about the performance instead. Remember, my subscription is still active since it was paid in advance, although set to cancel at the end of the period. I have no problems logging in to reconfirm the problems are still there and even with a good machine that can run it at maxed settings, the lag and slowdowns become noticeable the more people show up for the fights.

well neller i havent played in a month but i had played from launch until then and i can say that there has been many improvements to the game performance. i dont get ctd's anymore and the amount of lag has been reduced. yes they can still improve but they have been doing a good job of getting the game into good shape if you ask me

The only way they have improved performance in large battles, is to cap the fortress fights. Powerpoint is not the solution, Mythic...
