ok....that stupid little everquest countdown thingy...... its driving me nuts... i pre-ordered... i have a decent comp now..... I WANT TO PLAY EVERQUEST 2 LOL !!!! I ditched all my friends who are going to WoW for this game... Ill be on my own.... BUT 3 days 7 hours etc etc IS TOO LONG TO WAIT AHHHHHHHHHH
/vent off...... but seriously.... I have never been as excited about the release of a game as EQ2 ( i wish i could have tried out beta) not even halo 2 compares lol 
p.s. I have 4 bags of cheetos... a 20 pack of MT dew... and a shitload of leftover halloween candy saved up for the day of release lololol

3 days off work..... check
pizza coupons by comp desk with phone..... check
now all that is left to do is wait......... and try not to explode

Every time I start going nuts about EQ2, I pop in the character creation CD they sent me for pre-ordering, I just pretend I really have the game and im about to get started.
I've probably gone through every single model option/combination.
My final choice is a Gnome: Bald, Pink shirt, Pink pants, and pink shades! l1337 Assassin! =D

Oh yea... Will EQ2 have armor dye like EQ1? ( I didn't like it that much, but just curious)

I'm pretty excited about all of this too! I can't wait to play EQII.

To the above poster, you heard wrong. The gameplay is awesome, I am/was (this is the last day) of beta. The gameplay is very easy similar to SB, SWG, Horizons, PS, just point and click with hotkeys. The game ran great for me with high graphic options selected, incurred no lag except when i pumped the graphics to maximum in the city zones. The quests give good rewards, and the leveling was alot faster than I thought it would be. The lack of PvP doesnt phase me, just means less greifers in the game to ruin my experience. The game gives you many things to do anyways, and being a long time SB and PS player im a little burned out of PvP anyways, besides it gets boring killing the same players over and over again, kinda of like killing the same mob over and over again...

I thoroughly enjoyed all 30 hours of the beta I got to play and I can't wait to get started either!
For those that didn't get into beta, I think you will be pleased. There are other cool games out there and still to be released soon (that I have beta-ed as well), but EQ2 is really special in my book.

*scoff* i cant wait till this game turns into the next SWG, overhyped. It will NEVER live up to expectations. Ill stick with pvp thanks. Guild Wars here we come
I'll have to admit, I did not play SWG; however, I have played Guild Wars, EQ2 and WoW. They're all great games for broad audiences, some of whom will try all of them.
In my experience with all three, I am very excited about EQ2 and I'm excited for Guild Wars, too. They're both very different and, for myself, I'm predicting will be quite enjoyable for some time to come.
Well, I played SWG when it first came out and I understand having reservations about playing EQII as soon as it comes out. I don't know if I'll buy it the very first day or wait a bit.
I enjoyed playing SWG but there were still a lot of bugs and fine tuning going on, so it was much like still being in Beta, except I was paying. I bet it is a pretty good game now.
So, I'm still deciding when I will play EQII, but there is no doubt that I will play it. It has a rich story and it looks like a good place for roleplaying and adventuring. Any combination of those two things is a good thing, in my opinion.
I'm about to test out WoW's open beta just to see what it's like. I'm also going to revisit DAoC to see the changes they made, but only for the free 14 days they are offering.
I'm looking for a new game, so EQII is good for me. It has all the elements I like in a game. I can't wait until I hear from others that it is really 'ready' to play. Then I'll buy the game.

Take it easy guys. When it comes down to it it's still just a game. Go out, have fun, make friends. I promise you those experinces will be more rewarding than playing a game. I know it's cool to have a new game come out but making a checklist???? Come on. On another note I bet the stores are gonna be packed to the brim with Halo 2 and EQ2 coming out the same day. And of course the biggest release on the 9th, Zoo Tycoon 2.
I disagree because this means less people attempting to log in on release day, and hopefully the servers will be a tad more stable.
Then again, I'm prone to day dreaming.
