Differences bewteen these two graphic cards?

Originally i was planning on getting the 6800GT but if get the 6800 , I will be able to buy some games and save some cash instead.

GeForce 6800 and 6800GT . Please tell me the differences bewteen them.

I know the 6800GT out performs the 6800, but by how much? 30%? 40%?

Also, how long will these cards last ? ( Like until they play future games @ low fps)

I'm actually using the Gforce 6800GT, unfortunatly I can't tell ya how it measures up to the 6800 ><

I can only tell you it's a very nice video card, handles EQ2 about B or B+

    -----------------
    EQ: 65 Druid. 65 Rogue (Cancelled;2002)

Final Fantasy XI: 75 Monk. 75 Ninja. (Current)

    EQ2: Prospective?

    I had a 6800 and had to return it.  Now I have a 6800gt.

    The two main differences:

    1) The normal 6800 only has 12 rendering pipelines, the gt has 16.

    2) The normal 6800 runs at 325mhz core speed and has128 megs of 700mhz ddr memory.  The GT runs at 3560mhz core and has 256mb of 1ghz ddr memory.

All of the GT's I have seen can easily run at ULTRA speeds.  I run mine at 415mhz core and 1.15ghz memory.  My normal 6800 would max out at 380mhz core and 750mhz memory.

I can definately tell a difference between the two and am glad that I bought the gt instead of just getting another 6800.

    So the 6800GT is how many % better than 6800? ( I can , hopefully , open the 4 pipes on the 6800 )
Come on...someone give me a reason to get the cheaper 6800 , allowing me to buy San Andreas for ps2 ..

Get the gt, you won't have time to play san andreas when eq2 comes out anyway...besides, if you really wanted it that bad you would've already bought it.  image

As far as % difference...the best measure I guess I can give is in 3dmark05

    6800gt: 5300

    6800 (12 pipes):  3900

    6800 (16 pipes):  4100

    That's a 29.3% higher score than the 16 pipe 6800 and 35.8% better than the 12 pipe.

All of those scores were in my same system, with an a64@2250mhz.(~3500+ rating)

No.  The normal 6800 is ~$280, the GT is ~$380 and the ultra is like $500.  The prices for the 'ultra' on pricewatch aren't correct...if you look at the individual cards you will see they are gt's.
