From all accounts that I have read that should run the game very well.

I'd like to hear from someone that has close to my system specs also. I just upgraded (on a budget so it's no where near to what some of u guys have) but anyone got something close to my system that played beta?

    AMD Sempron 2800 @ 2.1 ghz

    1 gig PC2700 ram

    ATI 9600 @ 445 clock 210 memory

    Gigabyte GA7n400 mobo

I should be able to play near medium or 1 step below right?

    probably better than mine :(

    amd athlon 2400+
    geforce fx 5900
512 megs of ddr ram... (thats what gonna kill me from waht I've read)

Thats based off of my readings.. 1 gig of ram seems to make all the difference to some.. thena gain.. some who know what their doing can get like 30 fps with settings pretty high with 512 megs of ram.. I definetly know waht i'm doing.. atm.. my comp thinks it has 4,000 megs of ram.. my brother says that it will work.. dont know what he did exactly but it involves our ahrd drive... plus.. he is very good at tweaking games.. run doom 3 and farcry at max settings... when I just did it and it ran like crap.. ;p

i currently have 512 RAM in my comp.If i upgrade that to 768(one 256 stick + once 512 stick that i am buying) will i be able to run it fine?I have heard that it is trouble running eq2 at 512 RAM and great at 1 gig of RAM.

I played around a lot with the ram issue while in beta. One of the machines I tested it on was a 1.7 P4 with only 512 and a ti4200/128 card. I also tested it on a different machine (3.0 and a 9800 pro /128 card) with 1 gig, 1,5 gig and 2 gig. My very unscientific conclusions are  that more ram will speed zone load times, better cards and processors help run the higher graphics settings. So to answer your question 512 will do fine, expect  11- 30 second zone load times depending on the speed of your ram, hard drive, and internet connection.

I'm going to wait and see how my current system handles and then decide if I want to upgrade.

anytime, the extra ram will really help with zone load times. EQII, Fraps, antivirus, and firewall used about 1.2 gig ram. I also ran Access, Excell, and a Firefox browser at times and never exceeded 1.5 used. Oh and edit I always ran Cacheman to help with any memory leaks.

yup should be no problem there.

im running 2.66ghz p4 1gb ram 9800SE 256bit card with everything either on high or max without lag. u arent far behind.

i think u will be suprised on how the smooth the game runs. ppl talk all the time about lag. i havent seen any recently.

    That's good to know.

I'm running a AMD Athlon XP 2500+, with 512mb of ram and a GeForceFX 5200 256mb graphics card. I hope that should be okay for now. 2500+ is like 1.8ghz right or around that right?

If its just load times I have worry about I don't really mind that to be honest.

I am leery about my ati 9600 pro and games that 'optimize' for Nvidia now. Tainted by that awful Horizons experience. Doom3 runs all right on low settings, and that was when I had 512+128 pc2100 ram; now I have 1gig of pc3200, so hopefully that will be an improvement. I want my next big purchase to go toward a nice 256mb gfx card though. I have never had an nvidia card, I think they have an upper hand to ATI these days, so I have my eye on that 9800GT *drooool*

The last I that I read ATi had the upper hand on NVidia. The X800 XT Platinum Edition being the fastest card.

Then again news moves fast and I generally don't. ;-)

The main point of this post is to say: Don't let Horizons color your opinion of anything, that game was simply made horribly. From the database lag to the time warps to the server crashes and on down to the client performance, I can't think of a thing that you should take with you expecting to see in any other game.

It is true that ATi continues to have driver issues - look at Knights of The Old Republic for an example - but there's a point where you can't blame it on ATi any longer.

I'm going to give EQ2 a run on my graphics card as soon as the box hits my door step and as you can see from my DXDiag file, it's a lot worse than your own. :D

I ran a 3.0 p4 with 512 meg pc2700, ati 9800pro 128 meg for the beta, and it ran fairly good on balanced setting, and even better on high performance.

Anyone run beta with a 2.4 p4 with 512meg 800mhz rambus and a Fx 5600 128 meg card? if so how did it run? Its my GF comp
