difference between dvd and cd edition?

in Everquest II
just wanted to know what the difference was between ordering the dvd and cd versions of eq2? they are both priced the same..so i was wondering if there was any difference at all

    From what I know about CD versus DVD format I would assume the CD version of the game will come on 2-3 discs where the DVD copy would only be 1 disc. As most gamers now have DvD drives in their PC's I guess SOE decided to cater to these type consumers. If I remember my media types correctly a CD holds like 700 megs where as a DvD holds 8 gigs if its dual layer. I think. So I'm sure its just a matter of keeping up with 1 disc as opposed to 3 is the only difference in the two purchase options.

    I believe the DVD version is 3 disks, the CD version is 10 disks.

    Ack! Thats-a-lot-a-discs. Makes me wanna share my DvD drive off my alternate PC and install the game on my gaming PC through the network.

    So if I buy the dvd one, will I have to insert the disk every time I play the game?

    I wouldnt think so... with 6 gigs on your hard drive I'd hope you wouldnt need the CD's :0

    ahhh thanks for the info, i will be ordering the dvd version :D

    <scrambles away to clear enough room on tiny 30 gig hard drive>   :P

    Its a one time install then after that you don't need the disk until you want to reinstall the game.
