I find this game has no grind, i never played WoW but the leving in this game is kind of fast. It can take 1 week or 2 of straight questing and you're lvl 50. level 45+ is sort of slow, and those are the grinding lvls.
You can do daily quests but it's still slow from level 45+.

This isn't true, and you're contradicting yourself. 45+ being the grinding lvls, as you say, does not add up with straight questing to lvl 50. And unless you play 24/7, there's no way in hell you can get both main and secondary classes to 50 in a week. Heck, I doubt you can do that even if you don't lvl your secondary class.
Also, at 40+ there are very, very few quests in this game. So again, the "straight questing" is far from the truth.
This game has no grind? Are you serious? In addition to what I already said: most quests are "kill x mobs", and from early 20s or so, it's mostly 15+ per quests. If that's not grinding, what is it then? Not to mention, even though dailies gives an xp reward for turning them in, they all are grinds. Yeah, I know you can buy the quest items, but unless you already have a high lvl toon with lots of money, getting multiple lvls this way is not any option at all. That is, unless you're a gold buyer.
Not sure which game you're talking about, but it certainly isn't RoM.

I bet for me it will take about two months to get to 50 which isn't bad considering the time I have, currently level 32 and can get to 33 soon. Its about finishing your dailies everyday, if you do your 10 dailies everyday and each quest they offer, it shouldn't take too much time unless you start to get in 40s. Compared to other games, this grind isn't bad at all.
I have only played a character to level 15 and, although it's fairly quick to level, I've found the quests to be mostly uninspired. The grindiest bit of the game is the crafting. No surprise there. Most MMOs seem to have grind laden crafting and RoM's crafting is one of the worst. There are a lot of resources to havest and they seem to spawn very quickly, but gathering is VERY long and tedious and the crafting that comes after is pretty awful. Of course, it's beta and hopefully they recognise this and adjust it.
Unfortunately, I don't maintain interest in cash shop games. Possibly it's a psychological bias or something, I don't know. I just can't seem to stay motivated with them. It's entirely likely the game will last me only up until it launches. Possibly not even that long.

Nobody is saying there is no grind. Heck name one game of this type that doesn't have a grind. What it really comes down to is where does RoM fall on the scale of grindiness (is that a word?).
The Elitist Pig was a bit extreme. i'll step up and apologise. I'll admit i have a low threshhold of late and perhaps overreact. the simple fact is, you may be right about not "knowing" every definition exactly verbatim of MMo terms for "cloning"or "carebear"or things like that, but i won't apologise for it. i have better things to do than worry about my MMorpg.posting grammer 101.
though, admitedly,to participate in these forums, i "should" get better acquainted with the terminology.

i should be more cautious of this going forward, and so for what it's worth, i apologise.
People who just want an I win button should just refrain from playing any game at all.
All MMO games have grind in one way or another, deal with it.
Runes of Magic as said is easy to level until the 40's, the quests are uninspired maybe but they are quirky imo, which to me is a good thing. The game does not take itself seriously, is fun and refreshing. Remember they are still in beta it's not perfect.
If you want the best experience I'd wait until march 19th when the game goes live and hopefully most of the aggravating bugs are gone.
The grind in this game is FAR LESS than many free to plays, you can be max level in a couple months doing dailys and quest and not needing to play a ton at all. I have a level 50/40 and been playing a little over a month now. I remember going level 40-43 in a days play of a few hours. Gotta love quests hehe. OF course not all levels will be that fast but you easily get to level 10 in an hour.
TBH The grind isn't bad at all. Actually it's very well balanced, in my opinion. The levles up to 40 really aren't grindy at all and like others have said you don't notice any real 'effort' in levelling till around the mid 40's. Which is fine with me. The top levels SHOULD take some effort to reach.
"A ship-of-war is the best ambassador." - Oliver Cromwell
Effort? Hop on horse, ride to empty room, zerg pathetic solo mobs when they spawn, ride back. Repeat ten times per day. No other source of acceptable much less good XP by level cap open to general public. End game gear farmed in lvl 40 instance. This is not grind how?
I don't know what other MMOs you guys have played befire RoM; I play mostly asian MMos, so I can say I know what real grinding means...now back to RoM: 1. IMO RoM has no grind at all until reaching lvl 40; after that you will have to work a bit more for your XP (mobs hit harder, the spawning zones are crowded and have very fast spawning rates, fewer quests, and so on), but seriously, it's not a big deal considering that you can still lvl up in 2 - 3 days even pass lvl 45 (the current lvl cap is 50). 2. RoM's XP system is quest based; and when I say quest based, I mean not only that you can and will lvl up only by getting the quest XP rewards, but also that pure grinding is not an option since normal mobs don't give that much XP when killed, so if you really want to grind a lvl you're in for a very slow & tedious task. 3. Yes, you can reach the cap lvl only with the quest XP. RoM actually offers a rather eclectic selection of quest types: you have one time quests and repeatable quests; you have chain quests, the epic one (that goes up to lvl 50 and delivers some of the best q items in game), the daily quests, mob & boss slaying ones, landscape exploring, gathering quests, escort quests, delivering various items to other NPC, and so on. Some are very easy, others are extremely difficult; some can be soloed, others can be finished only with a full party. The game will force you to explore various in game locations, dungeons, instances and will push you into fighting bosses & elite mobs, so in the end you will end up with a complete knowledge of the game lore even if you're not the exploring type. To sum things up, you will have lvl based quests (obtained when reaching a certain lvl) and the famous "dailies": these are normal gathering/killing type of quests that can be taken and delivered 10 times a day and the xp will help you lvl up faster (if you're a CS user you can buy an item that resets your daily quests counter back to 10, so you'd be able to deliver even more of these). 4. Most quest items are no tradeable (just a handful are), but the items for the daily quests are, so you can just purchase them instead of getting the goods yourself (if you don't feel like it); they're costly, but can be bought even as a non CS customer that depends only by the money obtained from quests or AH sales. 5. While solving the various available quests you will get a lot of cool items & good gear as rewards. To conclude: ppl that are complaining about the lack of quests & grinding prolly forget 2 important facts: 1. RoM is a party/team focused game; it's impossible to solo all the quests; so find a good party and you'll lvl up faster; 2. RoM offers 2 different starting points with completely different additional maps; both have available quests so after you finish one zone, move to the other corresponding map. For me the The Collony > Logar > Varanas > Tagena > Aslan > Ystra > Obsi route provided enough quests to lvl up straight to 45 (and my secondary to 30). Last, but not least: how fast you lvl up greatly depends on your class combo; having good defence or high survability chance is a plus and will help you lvl up faster and fight multiple targets without getting killed. And also keep in mind that some quests can be triggered ONLY AFTER solving a specific previous quest, so chances are you're running out of quests because you didn't finish some of the already available ones. Good luck & have the patience of reading all the quest info & dialogues; look beyond the usual kill this and that and you might discover that most of them have a nice little story tied up to them
You just don't know what grind is and do not see wood for trees.
Grind is repetitive usually unfun task barring your progress. You can grind mobs, PvP scenarios, quests, crafts. Just because you unplug your computer for 23 hours out of 24 does not make say Lineage grind-less. This is how RoM grind operates.
What you are speaking about is how fast (lvl cap % per hour) you can reach level cap. Not everyone is obsessed with this and actually seeks fun, which for him means varied experience (while asians generally like grind and if you ever did it with positive attidute you understand why even if you disagree).
Levelling to 45/30 by quests excluding copious amount of daily grind is outright lie.
You cannot accomplish anything in real life either without proper training. This is how things work in MMOs too. There is not a single MMO without an inch of grinding. But if you consider "go an kill 10 X mobs" and getting a big chunk of lvl xp as reward (along with the other goodies) grinding, then you're simply too lazy to play such games. Dailies ARE ALSO QUESTS. You have a list to choose from so you don't need to do the same quest over and over again. So in fact you can lvl up only on quest xp. Just because you don't seem to be able to do it doesn't mean others can't do it too. RoM is such an easy & enjoyable game that leveling up is in most cases a breeze (unless you're the type of idiot that tries to solo crowned bosses over and over again). If you can't do it, you're either playing a bad/weak combo, or not playing with the right ppl. RoM is simple and easy once you learn the general mechanics of the game and how to use your class combo.
But if you consider "go an kill 10 X mobs" and getting a big chunk of lvl xp as reward (along with the other goodies) grinding, then you're simply too lazy to play such games.
Quests at lvl 40+ is almost exclusively about dailies. Especially for your secondary class since you probably did all the (very few other) quests with your main.
Dailies in a nutshell:
- Kill mobs till you have x items. You can get different items, but there's usually one particular that's better than the rest. Which usually means kill 100+ of the very same mobs.
- Turn in your 10 quests.
- Come back tomorrow, and repeat. Or buy resets for real money and repeat today.
This IS grinding, no matter how you twist and turn it. It has nothing to do with being "lazy". It has everything to do with braindead repeats which a trained monkey could do for you.
According to your logic: if they removed every single quest, except dailies, the game would still be enjoyable, and those not liking it, would be "lazy". Personally, I would say you just lost every right to complain about shallow contents in any game, because that's exactly what you're asking for.
Dailies alone are not enough to lvl your toon up (especially pass lvl 40, as you said) unless you're planning on spending a whole week on that lvl. Normal quests provide the rest of the xp - if you do them at the appropriate time. There are quite a lot of quests at 40+ (enough to lvl up if you also do your dailies, while continuing the epic q also gives a good xp boost), I'd say it's more difficult to get 'em at lvl 38 - 39 rather than at 40+. What separates the dailies from the rest of the quests is that indeed they're tasks - you provide services for various NPCs, so yes, they're repetitive and usually require a lot of mob killing, but like in real life work is mostly routine.
RoM offers additional ways of spending time if you don't feel up for the dailies: you have the crafting skills, the instances, Malatina's surviving game, the boss raids, you can duel other players or help guildies with quests or various activities. RoM is not a shallow game, it has a decent ammount of content and variety (especially for a F2P game) and of course more stuff will be added at a future date. But go ahead and find a better game with non existant grinding and such - good luck!

WAS, the operative word here... the only way WAS grinding. They have stated they have put in a lot of quests for levels 30+ that were not there just days ago, and plan on more for Live.
I'm almost 48 and still getting more than half lvl xp from normal & chain quests; only the rest comes from dailies. And that's 2 lvl distance from the current lvl cap (50). Once the game goes online again (the servers are currently down to to preparations for the game release on March the 19th) 4 new maps should be also available, so I'd say there will be plenty of content to help you lvl up.

Not a bad grinder at low lvls (similar to most MMOs, I'd say), but absolutely horrible at the higher lvls.
like how horrible? Are we talking weeks between levels? Also about when does the grind set in?
I find this game has no grind, i never played WoW but the leving in this game is kind of fast. It can take 1 week or 2 of straight questing and you're lvl 50. level 45+ is sort of slow, and those are the grinding lvls.
