So I have tried to play this game in the past but when i first started playin the game i felt kinda confused on what to do. But i love sci-fi and i am getting tired of WoW, so i figure ill give this game another shot. As i type this post i am downloading EVE and created a trial account. I am gonna give this game one more try before i call it quits, and im postin here cause i was wonderin if you guys have any suggestions on the best way to approach this game as a noob. ANY suggestion is good, this game looks like alot of fun and I really wanna get into this game.

    1. do the tutorial

    2. find out about eve university and join it

    3. try out pvp, imo it's the best thing in game, gives u an adrenaline rush like no other game

    4. if at 1st you dont succeed, GB2WOW, just kidding.. try a bit more, have some more patience to read through stuff

    5. ask questions

    6. dont cry when u lose a ship, instead figure out what you did wrong and learn from that (asking the pirates/people who killed you politely tends to give you an answer)

Does EvE university take in Trial accounts?

  • nurglesnurgles Member Posts: 840

the first thing to remember is that you can not do everything in the game and you will never understand everything in the game.

so relax about being confused. in rl, you don't know everything either. Yet you get by and have fun.

Take it a step at a time. The choices you make when you start a character do not affect long term goals (especially with the stat shuffle that will be added in the new expansion). So start up a char, do the tutorial, and spam the help channels with questions. Eve is more about a self motivated attitude than anything else.

EvE Uni most likely won't accept trial accounts.

However, there are a few suggestions:

    0) join a PvP corp - if not, proceed with next step
    1) stay away from missions
    2) stay away from salvaging
    3) do not try to fly anything else but T1 frigate until you get all the ropes of combat pilot
    4) the best trial account race is gallente and/or minmatar(high dmg, good starting skills)
    5) google up low sec guide and learn how to use map and scanner
    6) before you go for low sec ratting, ask or google ratting fit for your frigate
    7) come back to high sec for canflipping/friendly PvP encounters
    8) have fun

    Welcome to EvE.
