So only the people who happened to check the site within one hour got to be in open beta? And most of the people that were on the site didn't even get one because of the site lagging!

Yeah, I had to right-click/show picture the code picture a ton of times before I could see it. Even after I entered it, I had a helluva time getting it to accept without getting an error. Hopefully there will be more keys for everyone tomorrow.

i do only have one thing to say......file planet does suck...

but congrats to those that did get in but after this i don't think that i will be buying it retail when it comes out, cause this is really not an open beta. this is more like a lottery to ket a key.

I didn't get mine either, I punched in the damn security code perfectly 100 times and it still said invalid text. That's why I hate Fileplanet, and I never will subscribed. There a terrible company with terrible support.

This was the most rediculous open beta I have ever witnessed in my life.

I did happen to get a key, so thank god! Alot of my friends are furious.

This is just sad..... Blizzard, comon. The keys ran out in under an hour, some open beta.

Don't any of you ever read or follow the FAQ's? They specifically stated file planet would give out the first portion of the open beta keys and the main site would hand out the rest, and that IF YOU DID NOT get a key from fileplanet, you can still get one at www.worldofwarcraft.com So there you have it, but since the site got swamped, it may be awhile until they post a link to get keys.

so CALM down and be patient, its not a one day event, and they will release a lot more keys. Hell it is better then EQ 2's which had NO open beta, so be grateful.

Well I was so freaking pissed because FP site sucks and when I saw the notice about no keys left...... So now WoW has been uninstalled. This has been the most screwed up open beta I have seen. Blizzards website will be so overloaded when they do hand out the other keys if I do not get one then I will just find something else to spend my money on.

i think that i can say for most of us. (except some people who have over reacted a but) we have been patient. but really this is not an open beta in the sence that people are rushing to get keys, and have to go to so many places to get them. I was lucky enough to get a key when they did the first stress test. and it was fun, alot of the class content was not there but that was ok. now alot of us that were in the stress test (that did not win a closed beta account) want to try it with probality 99% of it done. But haveing to run al over the place to get a key and then wait for god knows how long for the download has more than likely cost blizzard.

What you just said points out the other problem. People banging away at the site for the Blizz keys. Will cause Account Creation again to be bogged down to the point where it times-out repeatedly. Much of this probably could have been avoided if they did something like this:

Thursday/Friday - Open up the Torrent for downloading of the Open Beta Client and Patch

Saturday - Have FilePlanet pass out their keys and open up the account creation page for folks that get their key from them before they run out. While also allowing those who don't have the client or patch or maybe just can't get the file through BT downloader to download the file

Sunday - Blizzard began handing out their amount of keys. While leaving the account creation for the latter half of the day.

Monday - bring the servers up at anytime during the day even unannounced

Your right, you can only get it from fileplanet, or could that is. Why? Because the main site got swamped and overloaded before they could start their own key distrubution. I would complain more about Blizzard not being ready for open beta then saying "had to run all over, have to get keys, etc..." because even if you have one, you won't get in with the main site down, so everyone needs to chill and wait for Blizzard to fix their site. Once it is up, they should have announcements to how you can get an open beta key. The Fileplanet thing is only a SMALL promo for them.

I'm pissed. I was at file planet at about 4:30, when I could have gotten a key, but kept getting errors everytime I put in the anti-autoregistration letters from jumbly box!

Now I have to spam blizz sites in hope that I will be one of the bagillions of people that cleans out the remaining supply of keys within a matter of an hour.

You fools, it says right there on the File Planet site that you can check with Blizzard later for more keys. Patience is a virtue that should have been taught to you in the first grade when you were begging your teacher for some cookies at snack time and she b**** slapped you and told you to stand in the corner.
