Thats not true. Eve online has no cc requirements. Nor did star wars galaxies from what i recall i could be wrong on that though.. was a long time ago.
now i remember why i never used the free trial key i got from fileplanet, kind of want to test the game before i fill in my credit card number.
and star wars galaxies didn't need a credit card for the trial tested the trial and uninstalled the game, didn't like the fact that there could be many jedis in the time of the original trilogy, im a star wars geek already seen the trailer for episode 3 about 50 times.
SWG would have been much better if it was in the Knights of the Old Republic time period. Then there wouldn't be any restrictions due to the time line, etc.
Funny how they think that attatching asking for credit card number is going to attrach players to the game. I (and so many others) will never try a game that asks for my CC number. Dummest idea I have ever heard of. As someone said erlier here you dont need CC number to try out EVE, not for Star Wars Galaxies either. I tried out Guild Wars also and they didn't ask for CC number. Forth game I have tried recently is Vendetta online and no CC number there either. What do those example show? They show that they can easily let us try the game without asking for our CC number, it is just a lame excuse. They are not thinking this through. I will NEVER play a game that asks for a CC number for a free trial. Sorry guys, you could have the best game in the world but I dont like your policy so you lost me as an potential customer. BTW....I played Eve for months and paid for it with my creditcard, they have much better policy....
We see more and more people in noobie land those days, a breef poll about the intention of newbie players shows that a majority are going to pay for the game.
The problems with patch 1 are now fixed.
And BTW, Nevrax are not the only one asking for CC info to try the game (Anarchy Online, and others). Its just a way to limit the traffic from people who dont have a CC and wont be able to actually pay for the game.
Comments
just as for the other MMORPGs
Make a difference!
cc is there so if you forget or 'have technical difficulties' you become a subscriber when you want to cancel hehe.
I like the no strings attached trials.
Beta Tested: Lineage 2, Ryzom, City of Heroes, RYL, EverQuest 2 World Of Warcraft European
