I am currently lvl 50 on my first character and still learning the ins and outs of this game. I`ve been seeing a lot of people lately with class specific gear. A few I saw said "Glory Rank 2 needed". How do you obtain that armor? It seems each class has access to their own.
Also, I see a lot of players with a small white symbol next to their name with a ranking. What is this? I assumed it had to do with raiding. Is this how you get that glory rank armor? How do you become "enlisted" so to speak.
How hard is it to obtain the level 50 and 60 class specific armor. The one where you need to trade a rare item to get it.
And finally...How do you get legendary weapons? I just entered Eregion region and I`m seeing a lot of people with these weapons as well.
Sorry for all the noob questions.

The gear you see with a glory rank required is actually part of the PvMP set. I don't do PvMP from the freep side, so I"m a bit fuzzy on the details, and maybe someone else will answer.
There are 2 class armour sets at level 50, obtained through the Helegrod or Rift raids. Rift is the one that uses token turn-ins for the set pieces. I have no idea if people run either level 50 raid much these days, since most will just head into Moria and advance to level 60.
The level 60 class gear is obtained through various instances throughout Moria. You're looking at level 58-60 before you'll worry about those.
Legendary weapons - you need to start Volume 2 book 1. Around chapter 6 or 7, you are given your first legendary weapon. Book 1 is entirely soloable. Once Book 1 is complete, you gain entrance to Moria, and legendaries drop like candy. Not all have useful or high-tier legacies however, so getting a good one can take a while. The first legendary you get in Book 1 will have a few gold-tier legacies to get you started, and you may use it for several levels. Legendary weapons and class items come in Third Age (purple), Second age (teal), and First Age (orange). The Second age are rare drops starting around lvl 54, and the First Age currently only drop from The Watcher in the 12-man raid at level 60.
I think you pretty much got it all.. I can add though that the small white symbols you are referring to, is ranks they achieved while PvMPing in Ettenmoors.
Also im not certain either on the PvMP armour sets because I dont PvP on the freep side, but I think its something like this: You need to control X amount of outposts, and when you do an instance dungeon opens up which groups can "raid" in and get some coins needed to buy the armour. Done this acouple of times with my creep, but not sure it works like this for the freeps aswell.
edit
The symbol at some peoples portait is indeed their rank in PvMP and also gives you a title before your name (such as : Man-at-arms Papadam)
If WoW = The Beatles
and WAR = Led Zeppelin
Then LotrO = Pink Floyd
yep all the above posters have answered your questions. also there is no need to do the rift anymore. the armour you get from quests in moria will be better than what you can get out of there.
Thank you guys, that explains a lot. I have one more question though... what is radiance gear? I saw it mentioned somewhere else.
Radience Gear is class specific armour set that gives the wearer radience/hope a full set each peice gives 10 radience so 60 in total but i beleive for the helm and chest you can get + 20 radience peices
It really is a shame now that the rift is usless as its the most fun raid there is and for characters who are level 50 like me who missed out on running it to get the armour since by the time we get it our levels will probally be high enough to move on
