I've been playing WoW on and off for about a year now and have never been able to get anywhere in the game... I'm thinking of subbing a fourth time, But this time going on a role-playing server (I've met a few people on normal servers roleplaying and joined in, it was a bit of fun).
I was just wondering if people are less immature and less "omg u noob"-y and actually have some fun role-playing on the role-playing servers...

I can't say that i have had experience of the RP servers directly, but if you go to either the guild forums here or the main WOW forums, ask around for specific RP guilds and find some like minded players it should make the experience a hell of a lot better.
It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays.
I'll be honest, the one RP server I've played on, the people were worse than the three PVP servers I was on. It might have been my name (A deathknight called Cottondeath
), but Im frequently assisted by the Alliance on the PVP server where as the Horde on the RP server kill me within seconds of sighting me!
I have had better experiance with the RP servers. Calmer and less whiny. Sure there are egg heads who roll on them not knowing what they are about and those rolling on it just to piss people off. But if you find a guild or a small group of players theres lots of Roleplaying to be had.
Best RP experiance i've had is still in Lotr.

Oh I didn't know there was PvP on the roleplaying servers. I'm not a fan of PvP, other than the occasional arena match...
On an RPPvP server that would be understandable though as the horde would see you as a stain on their world that needs to be wiped out so you are probably more likely to be attacked on an RPPvP than on a plain PvP server. The whole thing with RP is to create a world that fits the persona's living in it and to create your own personality within that world.
One of the contradictions in the Blizzard agreements that affects RP players is that Horde and Alliance are not allowed to work together so it does limit some of the RP possabilities in that you cannot RP a horde player gone good or vice-versa.

from what I've heard, the majority of the players on RP servers are alot more mature than on other servers.
