Any News from the Devs recently about pricing or a actual content update?

I would really like it if I didn't feel like I was playing a next to lifeless game (Dev support wise).

A real content update or expansion would actually give me a reason to log in more then 10 minutes a week.

Being a sandbox with potential is the only reason this game isn't uninstalled on my PC.

The Devs need to move thier asses now!

As you may already know, we are all waiting for news on the status of the billing system. On the support side the recent  pub dealt with alot of bugs that have plaqued the game. So far all the releases/promises the devs have made have been kept, which is a sure sign this firm does mean to make things happen with the game. Just what those overall plans are should be released sometime soon.

As a vet of the game all I can add here is that for once things would seem to be going in the direction we had hoped for years ago. The lack of information , while frustrating, is also a good sign in the fact that the new devs do not seem to be anxious to make promises they may not be able to complete or even do. All too often in the past we have been promised much and received nothing so this new tactic, in my opinion at least, is a positive sign of competent developers.

I can just add, based on my personal experience, that the devs are actively woking on the game, due to the fast responses i got to the tickets i sent lately.

I would like to get some more information, something like "In development" forum section, but I agree too that it's better little information than fake promises.

Anyway the pricing of the game was posted some time ago, but the billing system seems not ready yet.

If you don't know anything about pricing, maybe you also don't know about the 2 patches the game got recently, fixing a lot of bugs (and introducing some new, as usual ).

Check the Official Forum, General section.

I understand your wish to get new content, as everyone, but you already done with all the actual content? You reached the goals you can choose and get from the actual game?

I don't meant to be rude, but as u said, ryzom is sandbox, so how you can do something if you log just for 10 minutes a week?

Anyway, I'm with you when speaking of new content, just it seems devs need more time (it's a small team). But sure the game is far from being death.

    Let's hope for the best

Easily, I log in say hello to my guild. My character is already set up in his grinding spot so I kill a few mobs or toss on digging gear and digg a few mats. the whole Sandbox = casually unfriendly is a myth.

While I may not be able to hit a mastery anytime soon I have fun and do things at my own pace.

I'll admit the frustration with the dev team is keeping me from enjoying ryzom to the fullest.

I used to spend 20+ hours  aweek in ryzom. last month I spent about three hours in the game.

The game was alot better in Oct/Nov when we had all the new players trying the game out. now its just the same old vets. If feels like an old peoples home and Atys smells of moth balls.

There are still new players, believe it or not... there just isn't as many as there was in the first few months of hype. And then the doomsayers did their job well to scare most of those off with their "it failed and will fail again" speeches on repeat. As much as we had a reputation for an awesome community, as much as a handful of loudmouthed asshats have contributed very efficiently in tarnishing it. (I do not say you are one of them, just that there have been some notable ones, known for ruining others' game experience... on purpose !)

Gamers are such an impatient crowd, they cry for lack of updates, then we get some and they cry some more because there wasn't "content" in the upgrade. Well I must say that I'm damn happy with the bug fixes and damn fed up with the negativism. I'll play the game as it is, as long as I can afford it and the people who dare leave for Darkfall or "Whatever" Online will only leave more room for my guild to grow and become more powerful than theirs, GNAH !

I don't think it was the doomsayers that drove the new players away, it was the inability of SW to give any info on anything within the first few months of having Ryzom back online.

Keeping the game F2p this long hurt ryzom imo, the terrible chat in Uni and all the "I dont pay for MMOs" players messed up that nice community vibe Ryzom had a little bit.

Its unfortunete that the good players that tried the game left.

In response to the highlighted text, you only think this way cause your a vet, you guys would play this game if SW just gave you bug fixes and the random event every few months.

The game wont survive with just the vets playing, you need new players to actually turn Ryzom into a game world with more then 200 people playing it. the Devs need to show their willing to do more then just Events and bug fixes.

New content is always what gamers scream for no matter which one it is. While I do not classify myself as an MMO expert, one of the leading causes of player dissatisfaction has always been broken promises or unattainable goals made or set by dev teams. How SW is going to deal with the game seems to be something they are currently working on. Far too many times Devs put up wishlists of things they would like to do and suddenly those wishes  somehow become engraved in stone to the playerbase. We've all seen it happen too often.

My best advice to help the game is by helping ourselves. Getting on forums like this and tons of others would help get the word out more and more. Players are quickly becoming immune to normal company hype on their games and word of mouth from actual players is always more welcome. Naysayers will exist for any and all games. Truth and honesty usually wins out in the end.

One factor that may help is something I have been thinking about adding to our game forums guild section mainly, the time of day/evening when majority of us are actually ingame. This would allow someone looking to join a guild a reasonable idea of which guild(s) are most populated in their available timeframe. Would help that "Am I all alone syndrome" we hear so often.

Sorry got into rambling there with just some thoughts.

This forum was actually quite alive when SW opened up the servers last year.

People were posting in general, players were excited.

When I made my character in Sept/Oct the starter area was packed I stayed in a team 95% of the time with new players.

My firends list was 30 players long, fast forward to today. I havent seen one person on my buddy list in game in atleast a month.

This forum that went from like 700 threads to well over a thousand at first, before I made this thread Ryzom forum on this site was inactive for almost two weeks.

Maybe if people tried to spread the world more players would join, but im telling you no one is going to join a MMO if they think its unsupported and going to die.

Someone needs to do something, cause just saying its a non forced pvp sanbox with good crafting /gathering isnt enough anymore. We need to know the direction a game is going to take, what the long term plans are.

In Eve I know atleast an Idea what the future could hold. While its not set in stone things like Apocrypha, ambulation, planetary flight, a ground game all keep me playing cause I know what that game will be and that its supported. the future is bright. I can;t say that for Ryzom can you?

What about a fresh server launch?

Right now Ryzoms population is so small you could take all three servers combine them and add three different selectable language Uni chats and the game world would still feel empty.

A new server is out of the question imo.

Maybe once each server has a stacked population that could happen.

Also this is a sandbox, what to know the difference between a four year old player thats a  2h Edge Mastery and a New player with the same Mastery? not a god damn thing.

Try pursuing crafting and being able to trade your crafted items on a 5 year old server with a small established playerbase.

I'm pretty sure, that one of these days one of the MMORPG's on whose forums you post your 'Give me a new server' recognises you as the hub of the world and complies. Until then, good luck!
