I just wanted to thank you all...
I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has been involved in making this forum incredibly enjoyable to read. I've never posted before, but damn, between the people who are just SO CONVINCED this game will fail and the people who are SO CONVINCED this game will succeed, and all of you inbetween, this forum has become more enjoyable to me than House. I couldn't care less which way this game goes, but it's sure been fun reading along, and I wanted to thank you all. Now, get back out there and troll/praise the game some more!

No but really, even though I don't have a vested interest in this game, come on, trolls. I can understand the intelligent criticism about the graphics and animations, they look like shit, and even all of you who have preordered the game know that. I understand that they royally screwed up the preordering/launch, even though I also understand from an IST point of view that it was the right choice to limit the preorders for server stability. But for those of you who keep saying that this game will suck for EVERYONE who plays it and that you feel "sorry" for those who preordered: come the fuck on. It's a small company, what do you want them to do? Have graphics as good as Crysis? All of you who are insulting them for their forums crashing and their website not being updated need to realize that it takes TIME to do these things. Since this is a small company, it's not unreasonable that the same people that know how to update the website are also programmers for the game, or network technicians trying to get this game launced. They know their website is outdated I'm sure, but they simply have higher priorites for today to do anything about it right now.
The last thing, going back to those of you who say that no one will like this game: I know this will be a shocker for you, but not everyone dislikes/likes what you dislike/like. I for one love the show Firefly, but some of my friends hate it and insist it has bad acting. That's fine, they have their own opinions. I'm sure you all like something some other people you know don't like.
Off topic from this entire post is this little miff of mine: 2 all uz whoo right liek thiss, I wrote this entire post in 4 minutes. There's two nice-sized paragraphs there, and sure there might be some spelling mistakes, no ones perfect, but the point is it does NOT take too long to write a well-thought out and well-SPELLED post. It only makes you look stupid and detracts from what you are trying to say if you put "df is teh best onlin gaem evr." If you don't know enough to write anything BUT that, go take writing classes at your local community college.

Firefly rules, I have yet to find anyone that does not at least see it as better than a lot of the drivel that has been going on for years on the same network.
This Darkfall thing is better than Dallas ever was!

Oh yes, because between all the devs 8 actual years were spent making the game
. Who knows how many actual man hours were spent making the game, or the experience level of those who made it.

The OP summed it up quite nicely, in fact.
But personally I like siding with the fans, to a certain degree. In general they have a much harder time since they are always on the defense while the amount of criticism; both founded and unfounded, well written and horribly put, constructive and deconstructive is tremendous. And in case of Darkfall they had a particularly long and hard time defending 'their' game. AV hasn't exactly been feeding them with ammo, to say the least
Hats off for the fans, in that regard. It is a dirty job. The naysayers and haters don't have anything to lose either; except ... in some cases ... a shitload of time invested in writing negative stuff about a game they are not planning to play anyway.
p.s. grammar wise it would be a good thing if mmorpg.com would make it so that these textfields support rightclicking on words to correct them with browser based word books. As a Dutch guy with a slight dypslexiaz I rely on that a lot.
p.p.s. they might as well try and implement pop-upless pasting while they are at it ....

Not necessarily, no. In those 8 years they've had to do numerous graphical updates (have you seen the old screenshots? Dear god), they've had to upgrade the software their game will be running on (I doubt their server software is 8 years old) and therefore also their game, several more MMOs have come out that have probably made them rethink the ways they were implementing some of their ideas, etc. The point is, they've had to make constant changes to this game to keep it current, and with their small team, they just couldn't, and still can't, keep up. They're still behind, as the graphics and animations show, and as I said, things like their website are lower on their priority list as making this game launch ready.
