NOTE: I got an error (using ABC torrent client) that initially said "bad data from tracker" but hell, I'm pulling in 115 KB/sec atm so it can't be that bad
You CAN handle the truth...it's just really slippery.

got a bad data from tracker error and stopped... yay
All I can say is give it time. I'm getting 150 KB/sec down while connected to 112 peers. I took my firewall down and plan to keep it that way until it's done d/ling. I don't know if that helps speed any but it certainly cannot hurt it.
*If you are not already I suggest using a client like "Azureus" or "Another Bittorrent Client" (ABC). They give you alot of options regarding max connections and stuff like that. Additionally, if you are d/ling multiple torrents it does it all from one window, instead of a bunch of little windows.

Does anyone know why we can't just "download" the program? Is there some reason why we have to open our ports on the routers just to download something? Just a bit confused on this 'new way' of downloading?

Think of BitTorrent like Kazaa, or any other Peer 2 Peer program. Except its much more simplified.
However, blizzard designed there own BitTorrent client, specifically designed to download a single file. Which is the open beta client.
Now normally, you would download a torrent file from a torrent website(www.suprnova.org for example). This file is usualy no more then 20KB in size. This file contains all the information about the file you wish to download. Opening this file with the BitTorrent client then proceeds to download. And from there, bittorrent acts like any other P2P program. Connecting to other people to download the file.
With step 7 what do you mean???
What people can learn in one day...
So day day i learn about Torren files..!!!
