Hi, here is the latest update
We’ve been waiting for the pre-orders to process through billing and it has been moving along but not fast enough. We’re almost done with this. Many of you will be getting notifications of this during this process. As soon as this is concluded we’ll process the accounts and open up the servers for the pre-orders. This will be done tonight; the game has been ready and waiting.
Unfortunately we’re running behind schedule as far as opening up the extra sales which we hoped to do tonight as well. We’ll do this tomorrow as early as possible, likely sometime around noon GMT time, around the time of our first scheduled maintenance. At this time we will also process the problematic accounts which had 0 euro problems, no charges, no balance, but received a successful pre-order message. We are also looking into the few cases that have pre-ordered but have not received a confirmation email and we will resolve all these issues. Most of these problems were due to a combination of lag, multiple sessions, and multiple charge attempts.
We want to thank you for your patience again, and we would like to let you know that we’re adding a couple more days to the free month of play making them 33 for everyone that pre-ordered and that will buy the game tomorrow. This is to make up for any bad experience with the account management, the lag and the delays you’ve had to face with purchasing.
The traffic volume we’ve been experiencing has been unbelievably high because of the initial rush and was compounded by users hammering the system with multiple sessions. You should also know that we have been doing everything necessary to resolve all these issues as soon as possible.
We’ll post again as soon as the server is open.

For a mmo this is all pure BS. I mean even cheap and cheesy korean freebies allow anyone and everyone to sign up and download and play AND they will add server cluster rapidly as needed. Why can't a game thats already making money manage the same thing? Guess what, these billing systems are a lovely thing called AUTOMATED meaning they do the stuff on their own til some shmuck screws around with them.
I can't believe people are actually preordering this piece of crap....
let alone even wanting to actually play it...

i saw some play videos and jesus... i saw someone swing a 2h mace i think it was, the same way forever. Not even a 2nd attack animation? I enjoy seeing all the hate about the game and then even moreso the people who would give tasos a blowjob if they could... makes for some awsome popcorn-eating drama! haha
darkfall's launch date has been officially delayed 3 times now. 2008, jan 22, feb 25 and now feb 26. lets see if they are 4th time lucky.

There are actually 4 different animations for the horizontal swing now. Does look less redundant.

Im just curious, im not trying to start a flame war.. but dosent it say right here that the servers are still opening up tonight? I guess you mean in will be the 26th in Greece?

As someone who has had about a month of play time in Darkfall, over a year of play time in WoW (from release), a year of play time in Asheron's Call (from release), over a year of play time in City of Heroes (from release), months of play time in many other games, I have a more informed opinion than someone who has just looked at DF without playing it and is comparing it to other games.
And in my opinion, Darkfall is the best MMORPG on the market. Of course, opinions will vary. But I can guarantee that in my opinion, Darkfall is better than what ever piece of crap you may be playing.
It's like a bunch of potheads decided to make an MMO and fell backwards into a sea of customers. They have no clue what they're doing and how bad its going to get.

I'm sorry, but you probably like the game mostly cause its new right now. I loved WAR for about a month and then became rapidly disgusted as the "new" wore off. I bet in a few months you move on.

Possible, but I doubt it. I get so bored with turned based combat. I usually have to switch between whatever MMO I'm playing and FPS games like TF2, because I get bored with aspects of both game types. DF has the exciting real time combat aspect of a FPS and the socialization and complex character development aspects of MMOs. I suspect that I'll be playing it for a long time.
It doesn't work to browse through the archive anymore so you know, it just links to the normal forum now with the message saying the forum is too busy.

You haven't even been able to try most of the key features of DF! High level spells? Naval combat? A server with more than few thousand people?

I'm with you. Its pretty clear there are many people who just can't seem to grasp a sandbox style game. Oh well, there are plenty of theme park games out there, so go HF. I played in beta, and found the game to be very fun and wide open with possibilities.
