you no longer have the worst launches in MMO history. Anarchy Online and Vanguard have been de-throwned by Darkfall .
Charging customers and not launching at all will be hard to beat in the future. Who will step up to plate and try?

Guys! I'm hopelessly lost in a mountain of mole hills! Them damn moles!
I was going to make a thread about the Darkfall Launch (or lack there-of) because in all honesty (even though I (now) have no intention of playing the game) it's just a laughable state of affairs. People saying things like "well if you expected a smooth launch then you'd be an idiot" are probably right to some extent, but I think what Adventurine have managed is far beyond amateur and is straying towards the realm(s) of embarassing. I feel sorry for people who have been loyal as dogs, especially when this is what they get (or in this case, didn't). The funny thing is, in a few months the chaps at Adventurine will be wondering where it all went wrong - oh well, NEXT...
I heard a rumor that Brad McQuaid and Gaute Godager were opening a new game studio. It's to be called "Eternity Game Studio". I guess that's because it will take them an eternity to get a playable game out the door.
Thats why i wait 2 months see what happen becouse not only this launch go bumpee and dont go so smoothly, im also curious what will happen with macroing and exploiting in this game becouse its real easy and will be done on a grant scale if so this game will not be for me, not paying to see players reach skill cap in few weeks time.
And what they implement more last day beta world was still very empty and almost nothing is testested with full server.
Last 4 days server maybe crashed about 15 times lol.
Games played:AC1-Darktide'99-2000-AC2-Darktide/dawnsong2003-2005,Lineage2-2005-2006 and now Darkfall-2009.....
In between WoW few months AoC few months and some f2p also all very short few weeks.
SOE will somehow find a way to dethrone them, I have faith! LOL
Im not sure if this is really bad. Its a small firm and they restrict themselves to only 1 server (is it by design or financial reasons) so the launch is hard to compare.
If I remember right during the europe WAR launch by GOA the registration server was also unavailable and a lot of other games also had similar problems.
IMO the real outcry will start when the normal buyers can or should be able to login. Would be really surprised if this go smooth. I expect logging into Darkfall will be pretty luck dependant for the next days.
Edit:
Just reading that the updater deletes part of the client. Now self destructing mmorpgs are kinda unique I have to admit.
Convo between 2 men in a office. "Hey john look heres another one right here, yea hes defending it to haha wat a tool i no right, John."
Darkfalls so revolutionary it uninstalls itself.
LMAO- you said that so funny!!
Oh wow, these trolls are getting really desperate.
Both Vanguard and AO were horribly buggy and didn't even function come launch. The Darkfall servers run almost flawlessly and I've seen a grand total of 2 bugs (which I reported, and were patched within a day).
Nice try though fail troll.
(PS, the SWG and WW2 Online launches were worse than either of those, Vanguard wasn't even that bad)
Darkfall Travelogues!
This is really bad. CCP's launch of EVE-Online's only server was plenty better than Aventurine's attempts of a launch.

Of course the servers run flawlessly no one is on them! So was the game breaking bug one of the ones you reported? Maybe they should have listend to you!
That made me lol. The forums are down too it seems, which is rather silly because at least they would have a place to vent their frustration.
Anyway, I hope they get them up soon for the players.
Darkfall has yet to beat CCP, December 2007 CCP released the trinity patch and if you had installed Eve on you windows drive then it deleted your boot.ini file

LOL...
My friend, there is a big difference between having 100k+ people storm your game and having the servers occasional bonk on release day, than illegally charging you customers and not providing an actual service until the next day...!
BTW, Vanguard didn't have stability problems, there was huge jitter and hardware problems, because of the games seriously retarded game requirements.
Nice try though...!

I was there on Vanguard launch, so don't try preaching to me. Stability problems were everywhere, chunks disconnecting, groups bugging out, ghosts of players everywhere.
Illegally charging customers? Are you THAT deranged? Seriously? People pre ordered a game, they were not charged until the servers were opened. I recieved an email about 2 hours ago saying I was charged, and the servers opened up 1 hour ago. Nice try though. You silly little trolls... Run along to the next MMO now. This one's fine.
Darkfall Travelogues!
Sorry OP Dark and light still holds that title.

Vanguard had it's problmes, that's true. But at least ppl were able to both log on and play on release day.
You said trolls are getting desperate. Maybe, but the fanboys are even worse. It seems you'll accept every single freakin' issue with this game/company, they don't even have to explain anything since everything is both accepted and forgiven.
