Update made at 4am GMT 2/26

A bug was discovered during final testing, and we need to resolve it before we can open up the servers. We didn’t want to launch to just say we launched. We can’t apologize enough for the long delay. The current ETA is 2 hours but it could be longer. We will launch as soon as possible and we will keep you updated.

We have extended the free month to 33 days to compensate for the inconvenience. Problems will occur from time to time but we need you to know that we’re committed to supporting this game to the best of our ability. It’s unfortunate that we facing these issues at launch, and we’ll do everything we can to make this up to you.

    Anyone seeing a pattern here?

excuse after excuse after excuse after delay after delay after delay..  rinse and repeat.

So.. You think they are packing all the servers and running?

So, basically what this amounts to.. is they screwed up the EU launch, so instead of it looking like a US launch there will be delay after delay until tomorrow when EU will be up and ready to play again.

Tasos was probably out partying with the rest of his development funding, along with a few of the pre-order deposits. 4 AM GMT? Yeah, they missed 2/25 for sure. In fact in about 3 and a half hours it'll no longer be 2/25 in the U.S. so Darkfall will not release today (that was to extinguish any last hopes for you American fanbots).

    I'm not a fanboy, I'm not a troll, nor a whiner.

I still have not recieved my final payment confirmation.  If they throw the switch on the servers and people are left out looking in, there's probably a good chance there will be a lot of cancelations.  You're welcome to say 'Too bad for you or it'll be a better place without you, etc.  The reality of the situation is it starts with 1 and snowballs in this kind of situation.

I've tried almost every MMO P2P out there blind for the most part, except for AoC and WAR.  I guess this might be the first one I almost pay for and cancel before I play.

It's been really hokey so far.  I don't believe I'm out of my mind for saying this.

I had a feeling something was up when people were reporting that a patch was deleting their client..  Appears there are some bugs in their "retail" client.  I feel sorry for those that will be waiting up all night in hope that they can log on.  I know if I was in their situation, I'd say screw it, and get some sleep.  Hopefully everything will be working tommarow morning, or there will be some heavy flames going around.

    How professional of Aventurine.

I'm wondering, did they just put that notice over the forums or did scam vict... er... subscribers receive the same note by e-mail? Like 99.99999% of their total potential subscriber base doesn't read their forums already anyway...

If I had pre-ordered this, I'd be frantically calling my credit card company.  Because I'm not really expecting Aventurine to solve matters quickly.

why dont they delay the game for another 6months more getting the game from alpha build to beta first? All these bug fixing its not ready crap really annoy me. They treating everyone like idiots.

The thing is.. I wish we had numbers, but I am pretty confident that most if not the majority of the preorders came from the US or at least north america. I'm not saying that the EU don't deserve to get a first launch, because they do always get the shaft when it comes to mmos.. but they really are in the minority when it comes to these games.  North America is only surpassed by the asian countries in the amount of people who play mmos, in my opinion. It should not be shocking that most of the preorders and people you will see when the servers do go up will not be from Europe.

They should have just waited til all servers were good to go for everyone,.

honestly, i would rather them release amazing content a few hours/days off schedual then have them just release crappy/buggy content on schedual.

you all will still get to play it just not right now..

I don't think anyone would have even batted an eyelash at this if they had provided consistent updates. its the way they have been handling communicating this stuff to us. I mean, they take the forums down.. and put up a page with a message on it, and Brannoc is in IRC.  The things we have been told just don't add up..

    1. If globalcolect is so good, why the problems? and why hasn't their name been mentioned any further in conjunction with the billing issues?

2.. Why not let the people who you have processed go? it would save further issues and stagger the amount of people who will be online playing at once.

    3. you say the game is "Ready to go" but while your processing accounts you find a bug in the game? what kind of bug? from the beta test reviews.. there's lots of bugs.. is it game breaking?

I've remained a skeptical observer in this thing, because honestly I don't care... and I've never made a comment about the post count of a user, but honestly:

First post, and this is it?  Please just get back on your main.  Or maybe you ARE Tasos trying to do 'covert' damage control.

How dare you present him with logic! Don't you understand? He fights epic fights, in epic games, with epic toons....eats epic food and takes epic dumps! He has more e..pic..icity...ness in his little finger than you have in your whole unepic body! - ChicagoCub

I think their just extremly dedocated to the game right now and they are just finalizing things they over looked. The way I perceive it, they could be perfectionists trying to get it as good as they can before launch.. doesn't mean their wont be any bugs but far fewer than the majority of launched mmo's these days.

I dont think they could take ppls money that easily without releasing a game.. and in that case I dont think there is anything to worry about. A little better communication would be nice but im sure this is to come in the future. The game will launch when it launches though...

Putting in amazing content, their not.. First off, sandbox games are all player made content, for the most part.  The devs give the players the tools, the players create the content.  There is obviously some type of bug in the new updated retail client.  Kind of a bad time to discover this type of thing, but better then opening the flood gates and everyone getting blue screens of death, or computer shutdowns.  Hopefully they will learn, quickly open a test server, and do some thorough testing of their patches before they're released to the live server.  MMO updates/patches are notorious for breaking games when they're not properly tested beforehand.

Yeah pretty shaky from a company that claims its game has been ready for months.......If they delay every time a new bug pops up this game wont launch till doomsday......

And this is where most people get on Aventurine and Darkfall.......They havent thoroughly tested this game and there is no way they could have with such a small dev team and a small beta tester sampling........Its inevitable that this game will have alot of bugs, especially as they actually add some more mobs/NPCs to the game......How they handle these issues may very well be a deciding factor to the game's success.

This is a typical MMO launch.
