Yet everyone who was in DF beta says this is the case.
Indeed, it doesnt.
My post simply describes what could be their reasoning if what the beta testers say is true.
You say they lie (fairytales), wich could very well be the case. However, I did not feel like discussing that (yet again and again and again).
You shouldn't believe all what these beta testers have been saying.
They said the exact same thing about Warhammer Online during Closed Beta about how the client was locked at Medium settings and everything would be better and more at launch.
Well unfortunately for them I have been in that same beta all the way till after launch mid january this year and I am still waiting for the so called Higher graphics settings to be turned on.
So sorry to dissapoint you. Again. There is not a single reason to hide, gimp or dissable GFX settings all the way till launch.
What makes you think I do? Especially after that last line in my post, what makes you think I believe anything that a beta tester says?

I don't know there reasoning, but they did. I saw some beta screen's and was almost automatically dissapointed in them, but actually getting in game and playing, it's a pleasant suprise.
People should know by now that graphics mean squat in an MMO. Although......Aion is looking pretty sweet......anyway, graphics will not keep you entertained, not to mention keep you subscribing.

Interesting: could you address your retarded question to the idiots who did talk about release graphics being 500% better than the beta ones? I understand that now when the game is out, vapor arguments can not be used and a strawman argument needs to be erected instead; but I have only once seen devs say that the graphics are on medium settings - and it was in the first video, which did, even in HD, look much worse than the beta client I have been p laying with for some time. But of course what can you expect from some of the people here on MMORPG

yadda blah blah strawman my arse... It's a valid request for Screens of the "new improved" settings some people were saying would be here in release version.
Remember the draw distance thread? Crap gfx? no no no beta-debug-settings not working we were told. So, lets see.

the idea that there would be a higher resolution set of textures for release was because when the leaks first started the client size was 18.something gigs. according to the leaks
post started for high setting screenshot and I have yet to see one by the hardcore fanboi's. But still they will tell us they are having fun in a game that has the server down.
Sad
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
graphics is everything thats why this game failed so badly it should be nr 1 on the fail list not to mention the gameplay also sucks and the ccmbat is just lawl man what a failure its even worse then aoc now and that was hard to beat
If no one puts a pic up ill post a screenshot from beta with most settings on high before beta closed. It won't be the highest since i was struggling at 2fps enabling it all but it'll be fairly close. (my graphics card isnt to strong :P)

I started Warhammer beta in aug 2007, and for a long period of time the settings on the client were locked / non existent. You obviously began beta testing after they finally added some functionality to the settings (if you were in CB, you'll know of course that new graphic options were added in over the years.)
While I don't believe this is the case with Darkfall, it was 100% the case in *closed* beta for Warhammer.
Darkfall seems to be digging its own grave, no need to bend the truth to make a point.
woah i just checked my screenshot I saved and when i saved it and reloaded it, its blurry as fck ><. Idk what happened. Saved it in paint but it raped the quality of the screenshot.
(This was afew days ago so i can't take another screenshot)
Check it out, graphics maxed out on geforce 9800gtx+ superclocked edition www.gametoker.com/darkfall.jpg www.gametoker.com/darkfall.jpg Wish i could actually play, left the city and the client crashed, now it just crashes each time i hit play at char select screen.

Don't worry, I'm not dissapointed
Here's a picture of Darkfall.
Cool! Look at that draw distance!
You can even see that grey warrior up on that far away mountain.
But why do you have shadows disabled? We clearly asked for high settings screenshots in this thread. High settings usually include shadows.

Oh, that's because of the highly realistic weather effects. The sky is extremely cloudy and the sun can't shine through. Thus, no shadows.
