Hmmm i dont know.. it looks very playable. Theres just somthing about it i cant quite put my finger on. Some areas have that counterstrike 1.6 look to it - anyone eles see that?
Have the in-game sounds got any better? i remember watching a few videos and the sounds didnt seem that great (to me sound plays a huge role)
the graphics arnt that minddropping good.. but they are totally fine.. plus it runs like liquid.. Really good feeling to it and that is all we need! plus me and me 2 friends playing have 20-30 ping from sweden, thats really nice to be an mmorpg..
Anyway the game engine is not bad, turning up your AA + AF makes the world look stunning. Trees actually move in the wind and shadows have no impact on performance. (Running 9800GX2)
Congrats Aventurine on making a good game, nothing is perfect though.
i play alfar and i dont think that area looks as good as the others... its more like desert and a little empty.. but theres pretty many camps spread over with goblins.. not hard to find as other players have said?
those mushrooms in alfar zones look really cool tho but there are a little to few
still like it all tho, increadibly good flow in the graphics
Anarchy Online from 2001 supports that.... you are joking?
Actually it does support widescreen. I played for 2 weeks with a 24' widescreen and it was perfectly proportional. it was stretched on some peoples computers but I assume that is fixed by now.
Karl you really make me wonder... if you don't like darkfall so much, why have you spent so much time in these forums today ripping on it? After reading one of your non-darkfall posts (there aren't many, also kind of strange) you thankfully let us see what type of a person/player you are. lemme quote you:
"Saying you don't want instant gratification is a cop out really...lets face it, you DO WANT it. theres no shame in it, I really wanted to have a high level character in WoW to join raids in places like Naxx and BRS..but the levelling process was way to boring for me...i tried for a while but it did me in."
Leveling a character in WOW was too much for you? Obviously darkfall's wayyy over your head if you can't even manage to tread water in the kiddy pool. Please tho, keep posting in the darkfall forums... a few people could use the snicker they get inside each time they look at your name from now on

Ah ok, but do the OP have an old CRT monitor or something then since he is 4:3?

Nope, sorry but it does not support it, we were figthing in the beta for a properly support without luck, the image is stretched, the game also do not support SLI, these things can be changed in a near future with patches or drivers, and we all must be in the same boat to get a better game, so please stop misleading people.

He can't help it, it has become second nature to him.
It's a real problem though, people who are interested in this game and try to get an update on these mmorpg.com forums first have to dig hours trough troll posts and then they will find 1 actual beta tester saying one thing and later another actual beta tester says the complete oposite.
The forums here are still entertaining when one has a slow day at work, but they have long ago stopped being informative.

looks good to me, and probably even better in game with some motion to it.

Graphics are nice, character models are horrible.

I'd like to see decent pictiures of Alfar lands, I kind of like the style they have gone for but overall butt fuggly.

lighting effects and shadows are nice, but all textures are like 1994-96'ish
Why are they in 4:3 format?
That doesn't look bad at all. Nice.

Yep. Anyone who says those grahpics are bad is clearly just trolling.

I feel sorry if you still cannot understand that the competitive advantage of graphical MMOs (as compared to, say, MUDs), are...well, the graphics.
