sgel just ignore them... the fact that they are here and dont even want to play the game speaks volumes about the lives they have
What does it tell you about our lives? My game of choice has an extra hours maintenance today. Announced well in advance no big deal. Don't fancy either of the betas I am in (despite them being more fulfilling than DF). Nice being retired I guess I can kick back here watch a bit of TV spot of light lunch and then off for a wine tasting later (Burgundies since you ask). Not sure how you can tell all that from my view of DF more power to your psychc abilities!
Maybe I am just too public spirited, but I really recommend people try this before they buy. There are some pretty fundemental flaws (imho). A shame but there it is. The game is hollow and meaningless (despite lots of 'skills' and 'features') There are no consequences there are no chocies its a left click over and over fest for absolutely everything you do in the game. Luckily most of this can be done by macro while you play something else so raising skills and gathering your resources for 22/7 for an hour or twos dull meaningless combat before its back to macroing. Dull does not begin to describe this game as it stands now.
It means that your lives are pretty dull and meaningless if your means of entertainment is coming to a game u do not wish to play, isnt it obvious?
Launch was shit and more than 50% of the promised content isn't even there, twitch combat with 1 button mash isn't content.. you can get that for free
you know nothing.
What's the 50% content that isn't there?
mounts/mounted combat/player cities/sieges/ships/insane amount of armor/weapons and more
What's the 50% content that isn't there?
and you're a joke saying it;s "twitch combat with 1 button mash"... you've obviously haven't played...
Let me guess.. you saw a few vids, read something about it, and just tried to explain it in your simplistic mind.....
Most of the stuff is there...
Have you ever checked the FEATURES page on the website? i'm guessing a NO for an answer, why don't you go check all of those lists out, then compare them to the actual current content and then come back with that random fanboi rambling you just posted.
Because I was too busy playing the beta to actually pre-order the game.
I'll be getting it tommorow.
Hmmm you sure? If you where in beta you would have known that over the last few days (actually for the last month) the sever has been down on average about 20 hours a day. How on earth where you 'to busy' playing?

ROLF so you know nothing about the launch but talk about a watered downed beta with limited peeps. and say how the game rocks!!! go tell that to the people that sub'ed and can't log in. better yet come back here in a day or too and bitch about how you cant log on or why the server is crashing so much.
Take your ROCK and go home.
See.. this is why trolls are laughable.. you post something that starts with a ROFL... feel so confident that what you're about to spew out is actually inteligent...
I obviously knew about the launch... I just wasn't expecting it to sell out so fast.
The beta wasn't watered down... almost everything was there... and I got to experience it most of it... and I liked it.. and I'm here defending the game against lies...
If you want to say the launch was crap... feel free.. it was... but don't spread lies that the game is bad and bugged....
As for not being able to log on... I'm sure the peeps who pre-ordered can wait a day or two...
All the negative posts you see are the cream of the crop of the spoiled brats who are too obsessed to actually think why the game has these problems... if they did.. they should understand.. if they don't.. then we're talking about RL character problems

But that doesn't mean I'm going to let you spread lies and crap about the game.
I see no point in trying to hurt an indie company who's tried to break the mold of moronic mmo games.
They have delivered on what they said they would.
The game rocks.... all you have to do is try it.
I once again agree with you, as your doing a great job at it. Also the fact is DF cant even get a launch date and deliver on their date, so you fail there as well!

It's still by far the most interesting mmo on the market.. even though the launch was crap.
But just because the launch was crap, doesn't make the game any less exciting.
I'll be playing... and yes I know the launch was shit!... WE KNOW ALLREADY... Shut up.
Let them think they were right, we still have one hell of a fun game to play while they get to play forums.
Aventurine are basically idiots when it came to billing, but the game like you said is still very solid and the best pvp mmo on the market right now in a fantasy setting.

Kinda what I was thinking.
Especially for the last week of Beta... you know the time when the pre-orders were up... the server was down a lot more than it was up. So, I wonder what kept him from pre-ordering during those server down times?

There seem to be lots of features that have made it. A shopping basket of ingredients does not make a meal however. The problem isn't whether they have x y or z, it is that x y z isn't designed and dovetailed into a meaningful game experience. Every one of the 700 or so skills (or the ones I came across at least) can be macroed. heres the kicker, the same macro does them all (just change the seconds to wait in between left mouse clicking). I guess all MMO's are inherantly pointless but DF is pointless from the first hour played and still is at the 50th hour. A crying shame as the framework for a decent game is there.

Ok.....here we go. Let's see if you're right after this.
Explore five continents, countless small islands, trackless underwater depths, and a sprawling underworld. Hundreds of dungeons and adventure areas await.
Play any of Agon's six dominant races. Each race has a unique set of abilities, as well as its own civilization, culture, and way of life.
Meet hundreds of unique monsters, and take them on in their lairs, strongholds and domains. Repetitive monster encounters are a thing of the past.
Travel through geographically diverse regions that are alive with plants, trees, birds, animals, and even insects.
Experience a world brought to life by real-world physics and dynamic lighting and shadows. Watch trees and grass sway in the wind as sunlight peeks through passing clouds. Observe the movements of Agon's twin moons, which are part of a dynamic planetary system with smooth day/night cycles. Sail your ship through rough seas, then become hampered by fog as the waters calm. Struggle as your battlefield-bound army marches into a severe storm. In Darkfall, the weather is more than just window dressing.
Darkfall?s terrain has been painstakingly hand-crafted by our artists, rather than conveniently auto-generated. This means non-repetitive, unpredictable, and unique locations to explore, discover and use. Darkfall's world is full of wonders, small and large.
Uncover the mysteries of an ancient civilization, which left more than just ruins for later generations to discover. Untold riches and incredible power is the prize, as you join the race to claim an age-old inheritance
Everything so far is TRUE AND INGAME.
Enjoy the smooth and flowing gameplay, the fast paced action, and the highly responsive controls. You can forget about point - click - and wait: In Darkfall, the action is real-time and your character feels like an extension of yourself.
You don?t have to spend endless hours playing in order to enjoy yourself, or to become successful. Even if you only play in small doses, your character can be effective within his chosen field, and a lot of fun to play. Whether you?re looking for intense involvement or just casual fun without a huge time investment, Darkfall accommodates your playing style.
In Darkfall, there?s much more to character development than, say, raising your riding or mining skill by mindlessly killing rats all day. Instead, you'll need to practice your skills if you want to get better at them. Darkfall?s skill based system makes sense, and it saves you from having to waste your playing time leveling.
You will never have to re-roll your character again. With Darkfall?s flexible character development system, your character simply adapts to the choices you make for him. We give you hundreds of skills to learn and master, and around a hundred Prestige classes to further specialize in.
You have the freedom to follow the rules, or to break them and face the consequences. Darkfall?s Alignment system is hard but fair.
Multiple safeguards protect you from cheats and exploits that would otherwise interfere with your gaming experience.
Again, true.
In Darkfall, all items in the world can be made by the players.
Darkfall?s crafting system is intuitive, non-repetitive, challenging, useful, fun - and profitable. Using Darkfall?s virtually limitless item creator system, you could invent and be the first to use a weapon as awesome as the Flamefury Raudstaal Battleaxe of Bloodshed, or just make a simple saddle for your horse. Not sure about this as I haven't tried it in-game.
Bring your goods to market using Darkfall?s sophisticated and secure trading system, bringing buyers and sellers together easily whether they?re inside the game or not.
True again.
I can go on...I'm sorry you got the official Darkfall website confused with your bookmarked tranny porn. Sorry there's no 'wank' instead of 'gank' in Darkfall. Try WoW.
Don't forget that sandbox games are very community/socially-driven. If the community on a server, as a whole, decides macroing is unfair and shouldn't be allowed or encouraged, they could agree to wage war against any guild/city known to be engaged in macroing. This type of thing happened a lot in Shadowbane. I remember when the gold-sellers finally joined the game and it was all out war against the bastards..
I would recommend to anyone reading this forum trying the gauge how it actually is. To wait 2-3 months. Than the fervant fanboism (which comes with every game) will die down, as the "New Game Smell" wears off. Most haters will have moved on, declaring it to be epic fail. Than finally you'll be able to get an honest opinion on the game, without spending any money.
From the initial impressions that I've read on these here intrawebs, it sounds like a lot of sizzle and no steak. I guess we'll see in a few months if that really is the case.
"The Object of war is not to die for your country, but to make the other bastard die for his."

What are the Prestige classes?
Prestige classes are special classes, like Paladin, Assassin, Gladiator, Enchanter etc. and it?s an optional path that you may choose for your character to follow. Picking a prestige class will in most cases give you a few special skills, a few special spells, and you will have a certain status. There are limitations, tradeoffs and restrictions playing a prestige class character. Druids for example may never use metal armor after they are initiated, and Paladins have to give half of their earnings to their church.
Prestige classes may be interesting to some players, and some classes may give you an extra reason to role-play, or maybe give you an edge in combat or crafting. There will be many interesting prestige classes for you to try out.
Picking a prestige class is not final - you can change class later, with some minor penalties. The easy route would have been to make picking a prestige class final, but we want to keep Darkfall as open ended as possible.
Will there be player owned houses?
Players will be able to set up houses of various sizes and design, ranging from small cottages to huge castles and citadels. Can I design my own house?
Yes you can.
Will wearing armor affect running and swimming speed?
Yes. If you are wearing heavy armor, you will run and swim slightly slower than if you are wearing no armor at all.
What can my NPC hirelings do?
NPC hirelings can follow you around and fight with you, they can carry your loot, they can perform skills and spells to aid you, etc. NPC hirelings can do pretty much everything that player friends can do. In addition,
NPC hirelings can be given advanced orders such as patrolling your city, looking for enemies, criminals, and thieves. They can be a vendor in your shop that you have set up, they can mine for minerals in a mine, they can go out into the forest and chop wood for you, or stand on the banks of a river fishing for you all day.
Does Darkfall have in-game bulletin boards?
Yes it does. Does it?
And the list goes on, you can see it for yourself, don't have to take my word for it
Launch was shit and more than 50% of the promised content isn't even there, twitch combat with 1 button mash isn't content.. you can get that for free
Haha total bullshit. Sorry trolls you had your last day of fun.
I always enjoy when someone say that Death Metal is crap, and that no one is and will listen that kind of music.
Its so fun to hear sheeples (abbreviation of sheep peoples) opinion!
The fact is that ppls with identity enjoy unique and different things in contrast to the masses.
And last: Life is raw and cruel and thats the best part of him... you have to defeate him. I expect exactly the same in DFO. Valuable things need patiance, problems can disapoint only pusses and DFO is not for them for shure....

Yes.. this has been dropped... sadly...

For playability this was dropped... armor affects spells however...
Hardly a feature btw

The problem isn't whether they have x y or z, it is that x y z isn't designed and dovetailed into a meaningful game experience. Every one of the 700 or so skills (or the ones I came across at least) can be macroed. heres the kicker, the same macro does them all (just change the seconds to wait in between left mouse clicking). I guess all MMO's are inherantly pointless but DF is pointless from the first hour played and still is at the 50th hour. A crying shame as the framework for a decent game is there.
At last a constructive, inteligent negative post... this I can respect.
...and what you mention worries me also... but somehow I think the game will come through all this macro abuse... we'll see

Try WoW.
.. but of course ..
it'll be very interesting to see what game you actually like...

.. pleasure dome at the mother ship, however i strongly doubt you have any clue as to what im talking about!

I remember when the gold-sellers finally joined the game and it was all out war against the bastards..
.. pleasure dome at the mother ship, however i strongly doubt you have any clue as to what im talking about!
Heh... you try to behave inteligently but you presume that the people you're talking to are idiots.
If Eve is so interesting... why have you spent more than 50+ posts to diss Darkfall ?
..Cake..

Random?... how are my posts random?... in fact.. I'll show you what "Irony" is... why don;t YOU go to the website and show me the 50% of features which aren't in the game.
How would that work for you?
I'll try my best to please you since you obviously HAVEN'T checked it as stated in this reply of yours.
Does it?
And the list goes on, you can see it for yourself, don't have to take my word for it
... story of my life!
sadness

Haha total bullshit. Sorry trolls you had your last day of fun.
I always enjoy when someone say that Death Metal is crap, and that no one is and will listen that kind of music.
Its so fun to hear sheeples (abbreviation of sheep peoples) opinion!
The fact is that ppls with identity enjoy unique and different things in contrast to the masses.
And last: Life is raw and cruel and thats the best part of him... you have to defeate him. I expect exactly the same in DFO. Valuable things need patiance, problems can disapoint only pusses and DFO is not for them for shure....
Where themepark games try to hide that they are copying WOW, games like Mortal Online and Darkfall make no attempt to hide their inspiration

sigh... these were dropped because most people didn't want them!... nice reach
Will there be player owned houses?
Players will be able to set up houses of various sizes and design, ranging from small cottages to huge castles and citadels. Can I design my own house?
Yes you can.
Yes.. this has been dropped... sadly...
Will wearing armor affect running and swimming speed?
Yes. If you are wearing heavy armor, you will run and swim slightly slower than if you are wearing no armor at all.
For playability this was dropped... armor affects spells however...
Hardly a feature btw

Yeah it does... they should be there for launch
And the list goes on, you can see it for yourself, don't have to take my word for it
