Figured I'de spend this time learning more about the game rather then constantly refreshing accounts page, so I was wondering if anyone feel like sheading some light on what are the pro's and cons skill/craft/racial abilities if so.. of all the races
Seeing as the official forums are down that is, and the description on the official page is to much story and not enough "numbers"
thanks in advance.

one con for human, you might not be able to log in.
Racial abilities aren't in yet.
Practically speaking, the only significant statistical difference to worry about is Dwarves having 25 Wisdom (where the next highest races have only 20, and one or two have 15). This means that if you want to be a pure crafter, being a dwarf is a fairly smart move.
Orks and Mahirim (particularly the Mahirim) have significantly higher hitboxes than the other races, especially the Alfar, whose hitboxes are tiny. Similarly, owing to weapons not scaling with character size, this adds a slight range nerf to Ork and Mahirim characters, since they have to "look down" to hit others.
Generally, though, pick a race you like and go with it. Once they implement racials, the hitbox/stat business isn't going to matter shit (I hope..)

Ahh, classic Tasos!
Mahirim and Orks have a larger hit box because of their size. Otherwise, each race starts with different stats. There are no other differences and stats change as you use abilities.
Orcs suck balls.
Runawayfall has a lot of shooting of bows and magic and Orc's stats are the lowest for both archery and magic. Not to mention they are so large and have problems with hitting small races.
Also their racial weapon is an 2handed axe which does not have as much reach as a polearm or sword.
They have only 15 starting wisdom so alchemy and enchanting will take a while to get to, they require 25 wisdom.
Hah, we hope right? There is too much in this game that still relies on hope at this point. I've been following it since 2003 and have played in the beta for over a month and, now that it's finally out (kinda), I don't think I'll even play it. They can't get billing right. They can't even post links to distribute the game. Their forums are down. They didn't plan enough to make sure that they could keep their IRC channel up. Hell, they couldn't even fix the problems with items not staying where you placed them in bags. The game was fun to play and had a lot of potential but there's just too much reason to believe that they are in no way capable of running a successful MMO.
What kind of MMO developer doesn't even have a proper web site by the time they launch their game? C'mon now, forums aren't a replacement for an informative web site, especially when you didn't plan well enough to be able to keep them up on release day.

All I do anymore is hope and try and get these gimps to take my fucking money and use it to make a decent game. Played beta for a month, was one of the first 500 pre-orders, and they still can't work out how to exchange my money for Darkfall playtime.
I genuinely believe they'll fix shit in-game, but I'm starting to feel like a dumbfuck fanboy for putting so much faith in AV.

Again, can we please have one thread that isent about the launch.
Bottom line. In spite of the fact that AV stated on their "Features" page that each race would have their own unique talents and abilities, none of them are in game. So at this point the only real differentiator is that races like Mahirim and Orks have a bigger hit box.
We've already answered though. Those are literally the only differences. Hit box size, starting stats (which change anyway), and looks. Oh, I guess you have allies and enemies too, but that information is readily available in a number of places. I'll post it anyway:
Alfar - Everyone is an enemy
Mahirim and Orks are allies
Mirdain, Dwarves, and Humans are allies

yeah, atm, its foolish not to play as human female (small hitbox, balanced), dwarf (small hitbox, crafter), or alfar (small hitbox, can kill anyone)
HOWEVER, don't pick one of these race if you actually want to play as a mahirim or elf or something, because the current imbalance is TEMPORARY, and you will be kicking yourself once racial abilities are activated, b/c you can only have 1 char per server.

One thing not mentioned yet is that attributes are hard capped per race, while each race does in fact have different starting stats and can raise them through use, certain races cannot raise various attributes beyond a pre set level. Orks are never going to be great magic users, alfar are never going to be 2 handed heavy hitters and so on. The only problem is that throughout beta the affect of attributes was disabled and it was impossible to tell how much of an effect this would really have on the game.
Currently no one but Aventurine knows what the caps are and how extreme they may be across the races, but it is worth bearing in mind when you roll your char. However, you cannot see what the different starting stats are at char creation to glean some sort of a clue as to stat caps, and can only find out by rolling and deleting one of each race before you get started on your main.

So humans, midrain, and dwarves are allied. Alfar has no alliance at all.
What does this mean exactly? That you will be rogue/red as a human if you attack a dwarf, but not if you attack an orc? And an Alfar can never get those statuses?
Also since you can attack anyone at all, do the alliances/penalties really stop people from nonstop interside ganking or are the 'sides' there just as a novelty?
By the way the fact that the question was conceivably answered doesn't give a justification to derail the thread. I thought that should be mentioned.

Yes pretty much, although racial penalties are dropped within a clan once you join, as any race can join any clan, race has no restrictions here. Also, clans at war suffer no alignment hits as you would expect. You become rogue for 10 seconds after your first hit against a racially aligned player; this gives you an out if it was a mistake and only need to dodge players for 10 seconds if you want to avoid an alignment hit. You only loose alignment for killing another player of the same "alliance" and only become a redname if your alignment drops below 0 and falls into negative numbers, so it is possible to grind positive alignment and then go on a killing spree ganking hapless newbie’s if you are so inclined.
Going red to your own race can be a huge disadvantage especially early on, you can no longer spawn at a racial centre, instead you are bound to one of several redname bindstones if you do not have access to a clanstone; these are magnets for gankers and those looking to grind alignment. Also, your races npc's will no longer trade or interact with you if you become red to them. However, there are outposts where red names can trade with npc's, although these were disabled in beta and their locations unknown.
